what the, i can do the whole effect in about 30 seconds compared to 30 minutes plus however long pt 2 is... just make a mask around head and then set it to subtract then just feather the mask a bit and go frame by frame and set the mask to move with your head.

...you do know that you could have put the blood on a blending mode such as screen? this would bypass the entire keying you do, which not only looks bad but takes render time

It should allow you to import various types of video formats, one of which being .mov. Make sure you have the Quicktime codec installed on your system. Once you have the codec installed, in AE go to File>import>and choose the video, then click open.

Tracker controls is only available in the After Effects Professional. You can still do this tutorial without motion tracking, just skip over the steps that have to do with it and you should be all set.
