What's so great about this is.... listen to all of the different sounds that are coming out of the battery. Just for the record, the pit is nowhere in sight during this recording. All of the sounds are coming from the tenors, snares, and basses. Crazy. As one of the drum judges famously said on tape. "Man, you guys have a lot of %#^ in this show."
Their line was fun ... But actually pretty dirty this year. Phantom finally picked up their groove and won in later years, and have very much come of age since.
Jeff was so innovative in his direction of the line and writing. so tasty and incredibly well executed. between PR and Star on the 93 circuit, percussion in DCI went in an entire new direction.
93 ruled!!! Crashers on the bass drums were awesome! Overall the entire drumline got much lest credit than they deserved that year! SUTA! It all comes full circle. How sweet last night's win was. I was front and center! 93 Contra Line!
This is so cool. This is one of my favorite years of Phantom Regiment.

I wish I could try for PR's pit... xD But it seems an impossibility due to where I'm located (CA).
