jim conley commited the murder he had a criminal background and he had a motive and an opprotunity to commit this crime. Leo frank was not liked by the people of the town since he was a jew. Jim conley assualted mary phagen and tried to pin it on the nightwatch man when that failed he then fabricated a story about leo franks having an intrest in mary phagen which was very clever on his part since everyone in the town disliked leo franks had franks been an anglo protestant conley would have hung.

It needs to be understood that one day, perhaps even generations from now, the name of Leo Frank will be cleared. This in no way suggests that it should be or he was not utterly guilty of the MONSTROUS crime he committed. Rather it is an observation on the relentless persistence of jewish racial advocacy. Those pieces of evidence were not tested, which is on record as well. The blood was not tested, the hair was not tested, and if counting what Leo Frank said about Newt Lee was the one bit of "absolute truth" you think is correct, what about all the other people who fabricated stories, including Conley, at the drop of a hat. All the forensic evidence was in the Metal Room on the second floor, down the hall from Leo Frank's office. Mary Phagan's hair was found on the handle of the lathe in the metal room, so was a big fat blood stain on the floor in front of the lady's dressing room. Leo Frank on Sunday, said Newt Lee's time card was punched perfectly, on Monday he said Newt Lee's time card was missing punches in 3 places. Leo Frank tried to pin the crime on an honest nightwatchman.

Look at the forensic evidence; the man was not guilty. Juries find people not guilty today for less compelling reasons, even if the forensics points the other way. Our jury system is supremely fallible because of this. And Frank's jury was continually being shown people who were paid by newspapers or unethical private detectives to give a story. The newspapers themselves hold a great deal of culpability in this case.

While I don't necessarily believe his sentence was commuted for the right reasons (because when does that ever happen?), looking at all the evidence, I can't see how he could have been guilty. And the legal system still sucks, and did more back then, so people are punished for things they don't do a lot, so it is odd his case gets so much attention. But bottom-line, if you lay it all out and look at it deeply enough, it becomes really difficult to believe he could have possibly been guilty.

The people couldn't get justice through the courts, (and they let it run through trial, appeal and Supreme Court), so they took it upon themselves to deliver justice. The governor left the state immediately - abdicated, never to return to political office.

You're not going to change their minds. They have this incredible belief that is bound up in religious or political zealotry and that does not allow them to consider other points of view.

The judge commuted his death sentence to life - that's why they stormed the jail and lynched him. But there was never any doubt about his guilt. The governor was bought off. Sheesh. Leo Frank was guilty. He was lynched because the people knew that the Governor was bought off by NY (Jew) money, to commute his sentence from death to life in prison. (I doubt they'll tell you that). For anyone out there wishing to see more on this story, there have been a few films made and a musical was written and produced on Broadway in the late 90's. Leo Frank was absolutely GUILTY.

In his last day in office, Georgia governor John Slaton was bribed and commuted the sentence of Leo Frank, from death to life in prison. Slaton was also a partner in the firm defending Frank.

Governor Slaton announced the commutation from hanging to life imprisonment....and all hell broke loose in Atlanta.

Frank was lynched by a group consisting of leading citizens in the community - men prominent in business, medicine, social circles, and even in churches.
