  • I never saw the show. Does Paulie ever get his painting back?

    I hope so.

    FAX

  • AHAHAHAHAHA. "What the fuck?"

  • Paulie is kinda like a child here, idlizing Tony.

  • i bought this painting at an audtion i put it up in my bedroom

  • This scene is where Tony decides to kill Tony B and end the war with new york

  • It was that final moment, while looking at that painting, he HAD to kill tony b, and do it himself. You could see it in his eyes.

  • General Soprano

  • Is Paulie using a Toby? I heard those things are dangerous and prone to overheating.

  • I wonder who got to keep that painting after the series was over....hmmm

  • They had a few paintings as backup and I believe David Chase has one of them. I would have to rewatch the bonus disc that came with my boxset to tell you who all got the other ones.

  • what the fuck!?

  • "OPEN THIS DOOR!.....I want to talk to you:)"

  • @brightlights456X lol, '' u & your whores get a good kick out of this '' lol rb

  • paulie is the best character

  • Great scene.

  • Spin move...the key to exiting a room with a large painting....

  • Ahhh... I always loved this scence. Not a real general from history... lawn jockey... lol.

  • "you know what it does to me? to remind me of that horse?" lmao you gotta love T's melodramatic empathy for animals. And lol at "lawn jockey" remark too.

  • Paulie knew when Tony came inside the jig was up on the painting. Paulie was like *Oh shit, here it comes.

  • Lol what's with the hat and Shit.

  • Holy shit i remember seeing that painting for the first time and almost dying. Tony looks so hilarious in it. This and 'the Kramer' best paintings around.

  • series 5 :P

  • What tattoo Paulie has?

  • Whats with the hat and shit haha!!

  • anyone know where you can buy that painting?

  • @druha10304 You can't really. And if you can buy it, it will be REALLY expensive.

  • What's with the hat and shit?

  • @PrismaMD LOL "Lowlife audience this show caters to" - So anyone who likes this show is a lowlife? Is that a joke?

  • Spaceorbison you are talking rubbish. Tony's ok really. he only messes with the people in that world.Nobody working/living in the straight world has anything to worry about. grow some balls

  • open this door!!

  • tony realised he had to kill tony b; he was a general and he had to do his job for the rest of his troops

  • @guitar19904 you couldnt of said it better!! :)

  • ahh! a mistake! in the begginnig pauly had the lock on the door! did it dissapear at :14?

  • paulie always holding his thumb nail...lol

  • fuck Tony he was acting like a child in the last seasons

  • AXAXAXXA

  • what's with the hat n shit?!

  • "What The Fuck!"

  • My guess is that Tony think's he just like the garbage he steps on not worthy of being thought of as an honorable general

  • Beansie was right. Paulie really doesn't have anything but Tony, the guys, and his self-image.

  • @simmy0987 that actually touched me (in a guy way) when bensie said that.

  • What General? Who? Lmao

  • I love how Paulie guilt trips Tony.

"You never come here no more...I didn't figure there'd be a problem."

Then Paulie gets all sadface :(

  • "You n your whores get a big laugh outta this?!"

  • paulie is pretty jacked

  • I remember this scene. God, i hated Tony here. He can be such a whiney asshole sometimes. I know i know. They're all gangsters but Paulie seemed to me the most loyal and especially to Tony 'cause he had no one else (and the guys offcourse). Poor Paulie :( He's my favorite character next the Uncle Jun i think.

  • @texasB666 Most loyal? Paulie was a fucking snake. He was spilling all of the business about the DiMeo family to Johnny Sack and New York.

  • @StuUngar you're right. I totally forgot. Also how he fucked up with the Russian and that Jinny Sack joke. I started to watch the sorpanos backwards maybe thats why i thought he was loyal. Last 2 weeks i started to watch from Season 1 so now it's pretty clear :) Sopranos is so awesome

  • Paulie has gotta be the best build up character in the series.

  • right before tony kills tony b.

  • haha this is funny .

  • Poor old Paulie Walnuts...

  • These are some got damn emotional gangsters!

  • Since i seen a few opinions on it, i think its so funny that he just happens to step back into some eggs. Ralph happened to be making those before Tony decided he stepped out of line and strangled/beat him to death for the horse.

  • @Toughguy61688 eggs are common throughout the series pertaining to death

  • Tony's angry over reactions are too funny.

"What, you and your horse, you get a big laugh out of that?"

"Then what the fuck is it?!"

"Well what the fuck'd you do it for?! Dont bullshit me Paulie!"

    LOL

  • @Tobeyonehello

It's whores, not horse. You and your whores get a big laugh.

How are his horses going to get a laugh? You know Mr. Ed wasn't real, right?

  • @Yobachi2007 - Mr. Ed? Ged outa here!?

  • must be good to be the boss and basically do whatever the fuck you want

  • "it's museum quality work. I admit that."

  • aww i hope to have a chronie like pauly some day.

  • Did he still took the painting with him?

  • *Cue Van Morrison*

  • I thought it was vey respectful the way paulie described the way he see Tony. Great scene.

  • LMAO WTF

  • Man.. Paulie sure was fuckin smooth

  • Paulie at his finest acting!

  • @MrIITONYSOPRANOII Totally agree, this was some of Tony Sirico's best acting. I actually had sympathy for Paulie in this scene, and Paulie was one of the least sympathetic characters in the whole series. Damn I fucking miss this show!

  • @steelbreeze55 bigtime

  • i thought that this scene was hilarious at the time.

  • That painting is so cheesy.

  • Wats with the hat and shit?! LMFAO

  • but you never come here no more :( he looks at the floor all sad and shit HAHAHAHHAHAH

  • tony then realised that he was an actual general, and he had to take out tony B

  • @guitar19904 thats what it was yeah

  • @joeyxl3456

yea exactly, he knew he had a duty to uphold.

  • @guitar19904 lol what a show :)

  • as beansy tells tony in the final series, paulie has got no-one else and loves tony and the guys.

  • I love how this show maintains the continuity of each character. Tony, as evil and selfish as he is, never disappoints in showing his true self. Instead of being flattered and show some fatherly appreciation to Paulie, he indulges in his own feeling because no one else matters. Finally, his ego is stroked in those last shots: the hand, the hilt, the contentment that he IS a general. Love it. LOL. Indecently, these are all Tony's weaknesses as a leader. Great show.

  • Don't give me huh! HA! HA!

  • Distance between the 2 is changing throughout their dialog without them moving.

  • I love how Paulie's wearing suspenders with jogging pants.

  • @dander337 lol ur right. great scene but tony was outta line with paulie. Anyone could see he had the painting up there for Respect not to laugh with his whores lol. & man does paulie back down to tony or what ? miss the best show pound 4 pound ever created. rb1031

  • Tony: Whats with the hat and shit?

    Paulie: Huh

Tony: Dont give me huh!! LMAO

  • Poor Pie-o-my!

  • suspenders lol

  • I think its brillaint how Tony actually feels bad for not visiting Paulie.

  • yo 4 a minute i thought that tony was dressed like napleon , its kinda funny lol

  • yeah it was kind of a poignant moment for Tony because he realizes his men see him as a general of sorts and that he was letting them down by putting his own feelings for his cousin above the safety of his men. The very next scene he kills Tony B.

  • lmfao that picture is so funny hahaha

  • haha "so i rescued it from the flames" fuckin love how paulie sias that XDD

  • Paulie is the best character!

  • It's not a real general from history....it's you!

  • these guys have genius level cunning but emotionally they are children/retards

  • Paulie really makes me feel bad...I really believe evry word Paulie said

  • don t give me huh.

  • whats wit the hat and shit

  • dont bullshit me paulie!!!

  • tony acts like such a sensitive pussy sometimes...he's like a retarded kid at times...getting all excited about the ducks in his swimming pool in season 1...and being a dick to people just bc he has some unresolved issues in his own head...paulie should've had the painting remade and put it right up on the wall at the bing

  • tonys and paulies voices are the only ones who really sound different in the original than in german synchronisation. otherwise they did a good job in dubbing

  • Tony's such a dick face. Oooh the horse wa wa, go fuck yourself, maron.

  • Tony looks like ge was not mad anymore at the end of the scene because he realized that Paulie had respect for him as a leader like a general or warrior, i like the look he has when he sees the hat and sword and realizes that he has a resembulance to Napolean Bonparte.

Then he smiles for a second because he starts to realize that he was a great mafia boss for his crew and knows that he has Paulie's respect even if he hates the painting

  • shud have let paulie keep it

  • i want 1...lol

  • a god damn lawn jocky? Priceless!!

  • thats why he got so mad

  • whys he got to get so mad? he said it out loud..he lost a ton of money on dat horse..i got like that 1 time wen my friend said lets eat some lunch and he took me to the o.t.b to eat..i ate quesidllas and lost 90$ betting ponies...i flipped ..reminded me of the days that i lost thousands in there few years back..bad memory

  • Okay seriously, why does he get so fucking mad??

  • there was a horse that him and ralph kinda shared and one day ralph said he can have it so the horse got injured and ralph burnt down the barn for insurance or some shit and tony ended up killing ralph. tony has always had a soft spot for animals

  • cocksuckah!

  • cock sucker gets all offended over a fucking picture what a sissy

  • lol Tony's something else. It's funny how he instantly forgot why he came to Paulie's house in the first place, because of some stupid horse.

  • Thats why he is who he is. What do you expect from a mobster lol

  • What would've been funnier would've been if Tony walked in and saw a picture of Phil Leotardo superimposed onto Napoleon.

  • I kinda felt sorry for Paulie throughout, he's really lonely.

  • @JayTheSex he;s a retarded insecure moron like all these guys

  • @JayTheSex

Yeah, me too. I mean, of course Paulie was being a dick often times, but he was by far my most favourite character in the show (then, obviously, Tony and Johnny Sack).

  • @JayTheSex not specifically lonely but i admit, he is an old grey wolf

  • tony is so fucking miserable sometimes

  • I like how Pualie gives Tony the fat fuck a guilty complex, by saying he doesn't come around anymore.

  • I can't figure out what Tony stepping in the eggs symbolizes. Is it a reminded of when he killed Ralphie when they fought with the pan? I'm stumped on this one....

  • I got it actually....Ralphie offers Tony eggs right before they fight which leads to Ralphies death.

  • mmeasy, eggs often forshadows death in the sopranos, and has done so long before Ralphie came along

  • how so?

  • Certain characters mention in non-chalantly before something bad happens. I don't want to get too specific because i'd rather not ruin anything but watch some earlier episodes again, and you might see what I mean,

but yes, you're right aout them being significant, I'm just saying it extends beyond ralphie

  • please explain further or message me....I really have no idea what your talking about and I'm a die hard sopranos fan....could repeat pretty much any scene and I don't know wtf you mean about these eggs

  • eggs, they usually symbolize death in the sopranos, like you said with ralphie.

There are a number of examples and I don't want to spoil the fun, but look at episodes like 'long term parking', 'Boca', and the ralphie one you just mentioned.

  • I'll check those out and I appreciate it. I just don't understand the symolizm of the egg and how it pertains to death. care to clarify?

  • Perhaps I overlooked something huge; In the Godfather oranges usually symbolized death, and the eggs are the 'Sopranos' version of that.

Also, the quote 'Peppers and eggs' shows up a lot, referring to a sandwhich, but something bad usually happens after that, hell its even the name of the audio soundtrack to the TV show.

If I come across any more examples I'll let you know, they are scarce, and they went right over my head the first several times viewing

  • Much appreciated. I'm familiar with the oranges in the Godfather, when he gets shot and stumbles into the oranges and they go everywhere. Anyway, thanks, I'll check that out! I never knew there was a soundtrack!

  • NP man, Sopranos is a work of art in itself, and there's a lot to be discovered about it.

  • You're right about the eggs - also there's another tribute to Godfather when the 2 black guys try to shoot Tony in series 1 - he's drinking Tropicana orange juice just like Don Vito was buying oranges when he gets shot in One.

  • @essexmonkey

yeah, that's actually one thing i noticed on my own. The egg thing I had to do some reading to figure it out.

Either way its a great scene and sopranos is genius

  • Definitely - best series ever!! Often imitated never outdone..

  • @starchild123456 good observation...on one episode, vito's cousin was smashed in the head w/ a golf club by mustang sally just after vito's cousin had told a coworker to go pick him up a pepper and egg sandwich

  • did i sense a moment of tony feeling flattered near the end??? right before he ripped it down lol

  • @MurphGiovanni Eggs are prevalent throughout the series.....

  • i dont remember eggs in long term parking... where ade dies... right

  • he miss the horse

  • this is a great scene...he takes out his own cousin for the good of the family after he saw him self as this general

  • its whores, or as ralphie says who-has lol

  • Its horse

  • Wow, compelling argument. Get owned more noob.

  • "What's with the hat and shit?"

  • what you and your whores get a big laugh outta that LOL

  • "WHATS WITH THE HAT AND SHIT?!"

  • Paulie: WHO IS IT?

    Tony: OPEN THIS DOOR!!

    lol

  • I love tony like "You and your horse you get a big laugh out of this"

  • He said "You and your whores, you get a big laugh out of this"?

  • I tend to think its horse bro. Whores would make no sense

  • Are you retarded? Yeah Paulie and his stable of horses look at the picture of tony and laugh....

    wtf

  • Hey dickhead its a horse in the painting with Tony are you retarded. Go slap some more fake pics of you on your profile idiot

  • LMAO haha you STUPID MORON!!! Obviously it's a horse in the picture you stupid shit. HE SAYS WHORES, NOT HORSE! So you are saying paulie and the horse in the picture laugh at the picture itself? Yeah, that makes sense you stupid asshole. A painted horse laughing at a picture of itself. hahahah what dumb shit you are!!! Oh and fake pics? LMAO that's me in the video from about 3 years ago. I'm way bigger and stronger and would love to slap your puny little ass for being such a stupid fuck.

  • This is a response to the stupid moron domdick9000.....Also shithead, notice how Tony pronounces HORSE at :56 and WHORES at 1:21. Totally different. I rest my case you little shit. It baffles me that someone as stupid as you can even function in day to day life. Jesus....

  • what is a loanjackie?

  • so what happened to the painting? did he really throw it away?

  • This is in season 5 finale, All Due Respect.

  • Does anyone know what episode this is from?

  • this is one of my favorite Sopranos scenes -- esp. Paulie's sad face @ 0:58 and @2:24 he looked like a little boy who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. he was really heartbroken that Tony didn't approve of what he did to the painting of Pie-O-My and how he pictured Tony.

Paulie was good for more than just laughs.

  • Yeah, I totally agree about Paulie's "little boy" look. It really added to the scene. Paulie was definitely my favourite character :-)

  • make that his right pointer

  • gotta love paulie always playing with his left pointer finger

  • I love it when paulie says "huh" and tony says "don't give me huh"....hilarious

  • Tony's face in this painting is just price-less!

  • I don't under-stand this about Tony. One of his biggest problems is that he wants respect & friend-ship & a lot of this show is about how he struggles to find a balance, correct? In MY OPINION, "Yes.".

    This scene's a perfect example...:

Here's a guy, Paulie, who obviously admires & loves this guy. What does Tony do? "He freaks out & ruins it.", that's what he does.

I don't think Tony deserves the screwed-up life he has, but, I guess "The money talks & the bull-shit walks.", right?

  • Doesn't deserves the life he has? He's killed numerous people and cheated on his wife countless times.

  • Your looking WAY to into it, Tony does not like paintings, pictures, anything that dosent have a straight forward meaning, he feels like hes not in on whats being portrayed, almost like hes being "tircked" or "fooled" and gets frustrated when he dosent see the sam thing people see in things, basicly becuse hes to afraid to confront how fucked up mentaly he is, he likes to fool him self into thinking hes just as normal as everybody else, see tony and panic attacks, pictures are the main cause

  • i think tony really liked the paintig lol
