WIth all due respect the small percentage of Chinese whom are causing animal cruelty adds up to a large minority, when you take into considerration the population of 1,339,724,852....Furthermore tigers testicles & rhino horn are just a few of the ingredients.

Come on it is much later than you think.....Become a part of humane living, you are as I am simply a guest here on this Planet, respect that fact.

Good for them! This is so important, and there is no place for torture like this in a progressive world. Nobody needs shark fins in their food, and something tells me the (still living) sharks that get thrown back into the water really do! On Facebook I found an organization called Sea Save that showed me who to call to support this bill. It took two minutes-- if everyone could spare two minutes to check out that page and call your Senator, California could put a stop to this!

I applaud Assemblymen Fong and Huffman as well as the 62 brave members of the Assembly, for doing the right thing. I listened to a video of the "No group" and was shocked with their misleading statements. Shark fin soup has nothing to do with "culteral heritage", the Emperor is long gone. It is for rich people to show off their wealth. Poor people cannot afford it. Let's be honest and save the sharks.

Ahhh...fabricated bullshit at its finest :) I love how most of the speech does not even pertain to the issue of shark fin. Stop trying to speak on behalf of other religions let alone bring them into this matter. You want to talk about cruelty? How about you go try and stop child labor, at least that would be doing something to save "our own species" like OnePeopleOneChina said.

@OnePeopleOneChina how oblivious can you get? NOAA lists not one species of shark on the endangered list. Why don't you focus on saving some salmon if you're so persistent on preserving marine life?
