I think you should pull your sturips up at leat one or two holes. Mybe you should practic posting when ever you ride bareback, So you can get better legs. Your jumping was good, just try to keep your horses moving.
I'm going to be in a horse show next weekend, and to practice, my teacher made me canter jumps without stirrups with my right hand behind my back! Good job by the way.
nice riding i do horse back ridin too and i jump about 2feet and my horse that i ride is FLETCHER i love him i love doing shows outsides it's soo refreshing.
That was pretty good. Okay lead changes. I guess your horse can't do flying changes. I'm in Long Stirrup. My last show was the first time I've ever done it. I got reserve champion. What did you get in that round? First?
Heyy! Looking good! Just a little tip, when you first enter your canter, you sit a little heavy, lighten up, the horse will be more into giving you your lope!
ur arms keeped flaping around. u bounced up and down , wrong leads. but hey whats done is done. maybe thoeses are some things to look out for for the next show ;P
Ok, first of all, Diego's REALLY green. My arms weren't flapping, I wasn't bouncing around, and I was NEVER on the wrong lead. We got champion and I got 1st in my equitation, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't that bad.
Don't worry. Don't listen to people like that who try and be critical on your riding. When people do that I suspect they're a bunch of novices or some jerk who's feeling sorry for themselves.
Yea, I know! I watched some of her vids, and I'm sorry to say this, I'm not trying to be rude, but she can't ride worth shiz! She like still jumps cross bars!
Diego is such a cutie pie, I just want to hug him! His coat color reminds me of oreo cookies, with his light coloring and dark mane and tail. I think you did really good for a beginner, and what could help is you do flying lead changes gradually. And like I said, dressage could REALLY benefit your communication and Diego's balance.
Your local bookstore may have a book on dressage with arena exercises in them, or you can find some related exercises off the internet. One exercise you could do are figure eights - that requires lead changes from the right to left and so on. Or, you could go gymnastic jumps which require thinking, precision, and suppleness, which would really help when you upgrade to bigger fences, then Diego could stretch over the poles.
Actually, I have like every book imaginable! I do figure eights and gymnastics all the time! There is one dressage book that I don't have though. I guess I'll go get that one! XD
Aww, you two look like you work really well together! You keep amazingly straight lines, which I'm very jealous of! Keep up the good work and keep practicing those flying changes!
Your pony is adorable! great round, you don't ride like somebody who would be in long and short stirrup classes (in a good way). Great job, keep up the good work! Ps. You probably don't want to ask for your leads over the jumps, it will teach your pony to swing its legs to the sides over the jump (instead of keeping them square) Your doing great, the changes will come!
Thanx sooooo much! Yea, I probably won't ask for the changes over the jumps, because I REALLY don't want to screw him up in any way! I don't ride like a long/short stirrup rider, because I'm actually supposed to be in beginners. But since Diego doesn't have a flying change yet, I can't move up. ITS ALL HIS FALT!!! LOL!!!!!!!!! Just kidding, he can take all the time he needs, I don't want to rush him. ; ) Thanx sooooo much for your nice comment!!! = D
Thanx!!! I have another show there tomorrow! I'll be posting vids of it some time next week. If you want to, you can check back later and watch them! = )
You did a nice job keeping your lines straight but just a question, how were you champion when you broke gait twice to swap leads.. just wondering. anyway remember to keep your elbows in and that will help keep your body tall. Super cute horse..
Thanx! In long and short stirrup classes, they don't count off for trotting courses, or doing simple lead changes. But beginner and up, they do. I'm moving up to beginners next year, and my horse doesn't know how to do flying changes yet, but we are really working on it! :)
do you ride at kjm because thats where i go
