Yeah, that's like the dumbest move ever to kidnap a ninja's son. It's pretty much the same thing than killing yourself, except the ninja doesn't have to break any sweat if you do it yourself.
Wow i did not know there was this stuff on you tube, i so remember this when i was a young boy, after watching all his films there was not one kid on my block that did not want to be a ninja, the toys were out you could by nija gear, G.I Joe was replaced by the Nija soldier. he did with ninjitsu what bruce lee did with Kung Fu. IMO... theres no 80's without Sho Kosugi he is an american pop Fenom in my book, and all his catalog should be put out there, or reprinted.
My friend had some steel ninja stars. I bought some ninja "claws" thru the mail order. It never did allow me to scale any trees however, thing wasn't sturdy enough.
This scene really floored the audience at the Manhattan premiere and this was a hardened 42nd street crowd. Everybody hated the James Booth character after that and couldn't wait to see him destroyed.
I grew up watching Master Koshugi in the early 80's. I was hooked to his Ninja movies. I still have Pray for Death on Tape. I hope that one day they make it to DVD.
It's not officially out on DVD homeboy. Trust me, i know. However, there are some unofficial converted versions to DVD from the VHS tapes. Just carbon copies from the old VHS versions.
Sho Kosugi is the best! Ive been watching his movies since i was very little. Prey for Death was the first movie I watched of his. Ive watched it a billion times! Thanks for posting this!!
I really want to collect all of sho Kosugi's movies!! To me he is THE definition of Ninja !! have not seen any of his movies anywhere since 1990's.

longerdaysdyingss has made a comment on Sho Kosugi - 1985 - Part 2 of 3:
That was James Booth, an English actor who also wrote Pray For Death. He also wrote "American Ninja 2" & starred in "American Ninja 4".
He started in films in the 1950s, his famous role being in "Zulu". He died in 2005.
Seeing a child being punched & bashed like that in a film is very rare. Not sure how that passed the censor in fact.
Sorry, but YouTube erased your excellent comment, so we are posting it for you.
