Hey I have a question hwo come people are making mods for NHL 04 when they made NHL for PC as recent as 09?

@MissDeeCole Because NHL 2004 is a more editable game since it's all it html code. Also, NHL 2004 has a smoother feel than 09. But people mod 09 as well.

Because NHL 2004 is considered the best of the series, it has very aggressive AI. boxscores. and other fun and realistic stuff.

The newest version of the mod has current rosters, arenas, jerseys, goal horns updated personally by me and so much more.

@kenneth2951: Works perfectly with Windows7. But it doesn't work with Internet Explorer 9 (yet). Roll back to IE8. Check the forums for more info.

@cido151: Go to the forum... the rosters are up to date (July 30, 2011). This video has old rosters because it was recorded back then.

@alouettedude14: Have you installed the ditties from the mod website (see the link in the video description)? You have to unRAR them to C:\My Documents\NHL 2004\user\ditties

does this work on win 7 x64? i installed vanilla nhl 2004 and it doesn't work. :(

@pilotlim: Yes it works. You gotta install it to somewhere else than the default folder, and Internet Explorer 9 can't be installed. And don't install it to the default Program Files path. Then you gotta set the permissions for NHL2004.EXE and make sure the game won't get blocked by UAC or your virus software. We're working on the IE9 compatibility but it's not there yet.

Been playing NHL 09, NHL 10 and NHL 11 for the 360 for the last few years but picked up NHL 2004 just for the fun of it a few days ago. So much pure fun. I love the realism of EAs current gen games but I really wish there was a good arcady straight up fun alternative. Though in that respect I find that the older games hold up quite well anyway.

@connorandersonmusic: If you have the base NHL 2004 game, you can download the mods from flyermania net. Yes, there is all custom music for all individual teams. Correct goal songs, etc.

@klobasa29: That's a known issue with low-end machines (insufficient RAM). The full arena requires 2Gigs of RAM. Rename arena-lite.viv to arena.viv and try again. Should work. And register at Flyermania net.

I have a question that I'd like to be answered.I recently just installed the original NHL 2004 before I've even inserted these mods,I played a half a period and I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but I've installed it to C:\ NHL 2004 just as it says to do in the flyermania mod section and when I went to play that period I did notice that on closeups of the crowd they clapped really fast almost like walruses clapping insanely fast,what's causing the crowd to clap so fast? Help me!

@DarRussianPride: Yes, OT is post-lockout style. You can choose no OT, continuous OT, shootout and 5 min OT + shootout.

@Thumper17: There are no other great PC hockey games... besides NHL 94 which is a fun classic... 2004 has the best ai by a HUGE margin. NHL 05-09 aren't worth modding, just imho.

@koka309 In game, if set at Regular Season or Playoff setting in the auto installer, then you will see fans from other cities such as Dallas(San Jose, Colorado(in the back)), New Jersey(Islanders and Rangers)

this game is still hands down owning all other hockey titles in consoles and computers. puck physics is the best ever, board play is the best ever, dumping the puck is the best ever, awesome commentators, awesome menu frontend (in the mod) etc. only the skating looks awkward and not enough pucks shooting wide. nhl 2004 simply RULES!

Wow that is pretty damn amazing, NHL '04 was a sweet game. I had that for the PS2. Lately I just update the rosters manually in NHL 2K8 for the PS3, but I'd be interested in trying this here sometime.
