@Superduperanimatorz They were upper class from peasants but lower than Lords, Shogun Advisors, etc. Also take rank into consideration, modern example: a Marine Captain could afford better weapons/equip. to supplement his standard equip. than a Marine Corporal would on their salary; so the common samurai was more like a Middle Class warrior. Just like most soldiers today are low and middle class citizens.

This is a Ko Katana.

A Ko Katana is a Katana that simply has a shortened blade with the regular katana length handle.

Samurai used to carry katana and wakizashi (or if he was poor - tanto), because the katana was long it was left by the entrance of the house or any other building and then wakizashi was the only weapon ha had. Also there is a style in which you use katana in one hand and wakizashi in another.

Its a Ko Katana in my book. Look at the size of that handle. Its impossible to use 2 hands on a real wakizashi.

I just got one and it rattles around in the sheath alot wich makes a lot of noise. Do you have the same problem?

still good for the money. but need sharpen again.

Its a steel @ £90 like it cost me. Its tough as bricks, looks crisp in shape/looks like it cost more than the asking. Its a quality blade and great addition to my home defence.

@JRMK969 yes bottom is alittle bit heavy. but balance is not that bad. if you are sencetive with balance, it minght feel strange with this waki.
