  • damn. Kurt did an amazing cover of this already great track. RIP Cobain wish you were still here.

  • This song is referenced in the book

    "220: S I F T I N G

    The Alien Battle Royale

    or

How we met the Spirit of Kurt Cobain"

    by Fysche.

Thank you Brothers Meat for being such a profound inspiration !

  • MUSIC is MUSIC...just let it live

  • btw, this version is better due to energy. kurt's version is better because his vocal performance is way better.

  • DUDES chill out. we all come here to listen to this brilliant song. kurt cobain is the king of grunge, he was a genius. if you don't see that, you are deaf. WTF does is matter if people listen to BFMV? if everybody would be the same this place would be boring wouldn't it. this version is awesome, nirvana version is in my opinion better. and kurt didn't say anything about meat puppets, he listened to them when he was like 15, he loved them. SO nirvana is awesome. meat puppets are awesome. the end

  • Zerocooldevilation hey fuck you nirvana is an amazing band and Kurt cobain is a genius with his lyrics ya they did covers like this song for example but who hasn't done covers, you've probably only listened to like 4 songs by them and made that comment

  • @Nirvanafan4life1996 go fuck yoursef and play in the garden with your barbie toy

  • FUCK NIRVANA... bunch of posers... the didnt invented anything

they stole music from pixies, meat puppets,vaselines.....

  • @zerocooldeviation Easy now dude, it´s called evolution bro .-)

  • @zerocooldeviation

funny, because damn near every band nowadays plays nirvana. I don't think they would be copying copyers. Some people you might have heard of that FREQUENTLY do nirvana covers:

    seether

    puddle of mudd

and oh yeah, bullet for my valentine STARTED as a nirvana cover band.

so are they the copyers, or the copied, my dude?

  • @BloodyHarry456

You should try to be more objective! If you like nirvana thats your problem. And Bullet for my valentine?! WTF ?! Who the fuck listen to these faggots?!?!?!? Get a life!!!

  • seems so lifeless

  • this version(orginal) is better, theres more energy

  • @Danio936 there's a big difference between energy you can feel and energy that blows past you like bad wind.

  • I'm going to see these guys tonight in Iowa City.

  • U do all realize that if Kurt came back from the grave the first thing he'd do would be he'd kick everyone who said his version was better's ass?

It's MP's song, and Nirvana covered the song in the first place because they had so much respect for them.

  • All this 'I like Nirvana's version better' stuff just wrong. The guitar and bass in the Unplugged version were played by the Meat Puppets, NOT NIRVANA.

  • @johann99 i like nirvana's version better.

  • whats with all the idots saying nirvana is better, this is the original, nirvana is my favorite band but u should respect this 2

  • This ROCKS!!! I like the version from unplugged too but NO WAY can you call it a "Nirvana" version when it's the Meats doing the playing and Kurt is singing. I like the tone of Kurt C's voice alot but he's so measured and deliberate...I like the wild freedom in Curt K's voice so much more, though not so much heard in this recording. You Nirvana guys shouldn't get so hung up on the idea that a "best" version can even exist...when you do that you're just missing out on so much more life.

  • i love when Kurt sings it ! :D

    they're good to , but i prefer Nirvana's version .

  • wat did cobaine say about the MP? these guys are the best workin band out there. end o story

  • Cobain

  • superb band in their own right

nevermind what cobain said make up your own mind you muppets

  • the world can handle more than one version of this song. These guys wrote and rawk an amazing song.

  • Great band.

Discover them on the "unplugged" of Nirvana.

    Greats musicians.

    Reals hardrockers.

    Like them!

  • Why do u all comment about nirvana and not about this awsome band?? u just say nirvana did it better or nirvana would have done this better nd stuff like that douches

  • Because Nirvana did do it better, this is just fucking awful.

  • if nirvana did this song elctric instead of acoustic it would have been great

  • Video response to this tune, "The Man Who Sold the World" & and my newest tune/homevid "Amsterdam (I Grow the Best Pot in the World)" on JoeNo33...Have a nice day :)

  • great band

  • nirvana é melhor nessa porra! xD

  • rubbish

  • i saw wolfmother here

  • check your time...it speeds up and slows down, but it's still better than Nirvana.

  • Poor sound quality, but don't just jump to conclusions that Nirvana's cover is better than the original.

  • meat puppets made this song, but nirvana portrayed it better

  • the only thing nirvana did to the song was have kurt cobain sing it

  • And slow the tempo a little. Not much of a difference, though.

  • yeah it sounds so much more kickass when its slow

  • at the end of the nirvana version kurt says"that was the meat puppets!"

  • Nirvana sing this song much better!

  • we gotta give these peple some credit and not so much credit to nirvana i mean after all the meat puppets did write it... kurt just made it his own & everyone just prefers his version thats all

  • man stop dissin kurt he is such a good hes better then these guys

  • how the fuck am i dissing kurt? i love him im just saying that no one gives the meat puppets credit for this. i fucking love kurt why would i ever diss him?

  • you're right buddy. although Kurt's done great with this sone.,...meat puppets definely deserve some credits man....

  • arnt they under henry rollins record label?

  • they were on SST, Greg Ginn's (guitarist from black flag) record label

  • lol sorry Henry always refers to it as his (ego i guess)

  • If it wasn't for the awkward singing, they would've gained Nirvana-esque popularity

  • My dad's been to the lake of fire. It's Lake Pleasant in Arizona.

These guys are so underrated. I can't wait until there in Wisconsin and i get backstage! <3

  • Can you get me back there!

  • Now!

  • nahhh!!

  • nirvana did a good cover both good but prefer nirvanas version

  • agreed, but give the meat puppets their credit, after all nirvana covered 2 meat puppets songs. this and oh, me

  • excuse me, 3 songs, those 2 and plateau

  • You will go to the lake of fire and fry fpr saying that!

  • idiot! nirvana covered 3 meat puppet songs. lake of fire, oh me and plateau. you bastard!

  • wow, mayby thats why i corrected myself, dickhead.

  • lol. a huge cup of faggotry for everyone yay!

    Also, COCKS

  • Underrated gods!

  • cool intro

  • Diggit

  • @dullsville Still the best I've seen of the Meat Puppets playing! Gotta love Uturbe
