  • the title is misleading....sorry but i appreciate you listening and thanks for the kind post!

    dale

  • Very nice sound and playing! I really want to get (or build) a baritone guitar some day. I love that mellow, deep tone.

  • i've had more fun with this guitar than i ever thought i could - let me know if you add one to your collection!

    thanks for the kind post,

    dale

  • How would you compare it with Jaguar Baritone?

    Nice playing !

  • i'm sorry but i've never played one - i'm 100% satisfied with this guitar - thanks for the kind post!

    dale

  • magnificent!

  • Sure appreciate you listening!!

  • Very nice playing, that Baritone makes the arpeggios really deep in the pitch but in the expression too !

  • Thanks for your kind words & giving your time to listen!

    peace,

    dale

  • The Jerry Jones has an excellent tone, and is being well played! If you want to start with something less expensive, I've got a Dano 63 baritone (that sounds great too!) that you should be able to get for around $300, but it will have to be used since I don't think they are making them anymore.

  • Thanks for watching!

    dale

  • hey, great playing :-).

I love these guitars, but baritones are really expensive (considering I'm a student) :-(, do you know of any cheaper models?

  • thanks for your kind post! I guess expensive is relative but this guitar is a under 1K - IMO one terrific bargain in today's guitar prices!

    best,

    dale

  • I love this!

  • thanks so much for watching! I appreciate your kind post.....all the best,

  • You play very well. Is the DADGAD tuning before or after the capo? I've never tried anything but BEADF#B on my baritone. I really like "Gypsy Eyes" as you play it on the baritone.

  • dadgad before the capo - great to hear you are a baritone player! thanks for watching and your kind post is greatly appreciated - all the best with your music,

    dale

  • search Itunes for Bill Shankley

  • i did not.....but i love it at first listen. Thanks for your kind post and taking time to listen - all the best!

    dale

  • It does look a lot like a dano. Is there an interesting story behind that fact or is it a knock-off and or upgrade?

  • honestly i'm not that family with the history of Jerry Jones guitars, but i would guess they are using the Dano vibe a bit and adding some more build quality. I LOVE this guitar - thanks for stopping by,

    dale

  • i really love this tune.

could you tell me about some of the biggest differences b/w the 1998-2001 era Danelectro re-issue baris & the Jerry Jones model you play ?

  • thanks so much for watching and i appreciate you kind words. I apologize but i know nothing about Dano guitars - the JJ is my first, and last, venture into this world of baritones. Hope someone can help you find you answers. All the best with your music,

    dale

  • Sounds great, Nice playing !

  • Nice, I am planning on using my Baritone tuned in DADGAD as well, wo I would like to know what kind of gauge you use for this?

  • Thx Dale,

I've just bought a Jaguar Baritone Custom from Fender, nice guitar.

  • congrats! Sounds very nice - hope you enjoy it.

  • wonderful player...wonderful guitar...;-)

  • thanks for the kind post and i hope this finds you well....all the best,

    dale

  • thanks for this vid, very soulfull and relaxing, in particular at this time of the night ( here in France).

I own a longhorn baritone danelectro myself, but never thought to use the DADGAD tuning on it.. that will be done tomorrow in the morning!

Talking about distorsion and the DADGAD tuning, I think a song like "Kashmir" could be something to try..

Thanks again for the music and the inspiration you bring.; Harald

  • hello Harald, sure appreciate you watching sir and thanks for your very kind words! Great to hear about your baritone guitar.....i hope you have fun with this tunning and Kashmir is a great idea! I hope all is good,

    dale

  • man that guitar is shiny!

  • you are an absolutely awesome player.. this is such a beautiful piece of music! cheaptrades is right, this is pure elegance and so is the guitar.

would you mind posting some more baritone-songs? I'd love to listen to those!

I'd like to hear the distortion of this beautiful guitar as well ;)

    please keep playing!

  • hello...really appreciate you taking time to watch and your kind words mean a lot! I do plan on posting some more tunes with this guitar and you bet i can make one with some distortion....i'll be thinking about that. all the best,

    dale

  • Awesome.

Hey man, is it possible to tune a baritone guitar back to EADGBe or Db Ab Db F# Bb Eb safely?

  • thanks for watching....sure appreciate it! You know i don't think i would with mine because it wasn't really made to be in that tunning but beyond that i'm not sure...you might want to ask your closest luthier before you try. thanks again,

    dale

  • Ok. Thanks for the tip.

  • just put a capo on the fifth fret

  • absolutely beautiful...i'm thinking about trying to find one of these as well as a danelectro 12 string, they seem to be well priced and sound pleasant. It's also a way to dodge the steep price increases the bigger companies thought would be a good idea to introduce in a recession =/

  • Now I've heard this on two different instruments. It's like two different songs. Wow. Thanks for sharing the variation, Dale.

  • the baritone does give the same tune a different 'voice' sometimes......thanks for taking your time to listen! Hope this finds you well my friend,

    dale

  • you are a very elegant player

  • sure appreciate you stopping by to listen.....all the best!

    dale

  • HEY MEN GREAT WORK... I LIKED SO MUCH,

    dale

  • sure appreciate you watching! All the best,

  • thanks so much for taking time to listen....hope you are doing great!

    dale

  • man, your playing is amazing.

  • i really appreciate you taking time to watch! All the best,

    dale

  • do you need other type of strings on a baritone guitar?

And what is best, played on a bass amp or a "normal" guitar amp?

    Ps: you play awsome :-)

  • they are nickel strings but fairly heavy, i use a normal guitar amp with mine - sure appreciate the kind words!

    dale

  • mine is a Jerry Jones, other than that no. I heard a guy in Nashville using this model and just feel in love with the tone and quality of the JJ. I'm sure there are some other great ones out there but I've not played them. Thanks for watching,

    dale

  • Very unique, and earthy sounding.

  • thanks, appreciate your feedback!

    dale

  • Love the 'sniff' at 2.10! (ha ha!) Jokes aside though, great playing & tone! Im on the hunt for a danelectro or JJ bari at the moment! Keep up the good work mate!

  • did you notice it was both in tune and in time! You are a man of details my friend. Thanks for you kind words and good luck in your search. I LOVE mine. Just took it to RS Guitarworks today and put a couple better pots in it - VERY happy!

    all the best,

    dale

  • my friend is doing this "sniff" always when he's picking on his guitar. but he just notices this when i tell him that he does it..

    great work!

  • thanks for watching - i'll be working on getting rid of the sniff! All the best,

    dale

  • What a melody

  • i love this song and agree it is a great melody - it really caught my ear when I first heard it. Thanks for checking it out,

    dale

  • That was beatiful :)

im just wondering, can these work instead of bass guitars?

  • Thanks so much! They kind of fall somewhere between a guitar and bass for sure. I heard Shawn Colvin in concert and she played acoustic and Buddy Miller played a lot of baritone guitar and I sure didn't miss the bass. Thanks again,

    dale

  • oh cool, keep on trucken!

  • That was fantastic in every way! Nice one!

  • i really appreciate you watching - thanks for your kind feedback! All the best,

    dale

  • are chords on a baritone guitar played the same as they would be played on a standard guitar?

  • yes sir, but my bari guitar is tunned down a 5th so you have to transpose in your head, but same tunning intervals. Thanks for watching,

    dale

  • That is truly beautiful.

  • Thanks, sure appreciate you watching, dale.

  • Amazing tone! I have been looking for a baritone in a months but I wasnt sure about the replicas Dano has made. I am impressed by this JJ, the low end is so well defined and not muddy at all. I'll start saving and maybe buy one!

  • i do love this guitar - the build quality is excellent as well. I hope you add one to your collection one of these days...let me know and thanks or the kind words, dale.

  • what's a baritone? is it different than a normal guitar?

  • strings are thicker, deeper sound, longer neck in some cases, other than that not really.

  • these guitars are tuned lower also. They have the same tension at a lower tuning because of the extra length in the neck and thicker strings. That's why they have a deeper fuller sound.

  • Love your sound. I also have a baritone, but I'll have to work to make it sing like yours.

  • Love your sound. I also have a baritone, but I'll have to work to make it sing like yours.

  • i want that guitar! where can you buy those?

  • It's a Jerry Jones guitar - you can go to their site and find dealers, they are built in Nashville. Great quality and tone - I highly recommend checking them out. Thanks for watching.

  • Baritone ruuuuules....

  • It is a fun guitar - I appreciate you watching!

  • Great sound. I like the pickups and body.

  • I appreciate you watching - I've been very impressed and pleased with this guitar. It came set up perfect - plug it in and the tone is just terrific - I'm a fan of Jerry Jones guitars for sure. Thanks again, dale.

  • sounds cool but its no hendrix

  • that is for sure!

  • cool. this isn't some other version of the jimi hendrix song, i'm guessing?

  • it isn't a Hendrix song - but that's an idea! Thanks for watching, dale.

  • Sounds great.

  • thanks for watching and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Sounds great. Is that a old Steve Earle song?

  • Could be - I'd love to hear him do this! Guitar Town baby - you are my hero - thanks for making this happen! da

  • Liking the baritone! I think if I ever go electric I'll have to seriously consider it!

  • It really is a fun guitar to play - I appreciate you watching and I always appreciate your feedback! Keep pickin, dale.

  • Great job DA! I'm truly blessed to have you as a friend and fellow band mate!!

  • Right back at you! You are the best and I hope we've got many gigs ahead of us!!

  • I can't decide whether i like this or the acoustic version better. what kind of amp are you using?

  • I'm using a Headstrong Lil King amp. It is essentially a Fender Princeton clone. Thanks for watching.
