This actually worked. My apartment what I believe is a deadbolt lock. All I know is you have to use a key to open it. Anyway, my youngest son locked it. I tried everything, even the card method. I used a couple of old cards, but they were a little too flimsy. Then, I used an old Visa gift card and it worked.

I owe you my gratitude. I was locked out of my room and I tried every trick I could think of and was scouring the internet for ideas. This is the ONLY one that worked just from simply bending the card (who knew?). Tour up my student ID but it's worth it to be able to sleep in my own bed haha. Thanks :)

it all depends on the lock, this will work with most simple locks, but not main door locks that are doublebolt
