  • This video is wonderful...is there anything like this but maybe a bit more up to date?

  • bettyg, iowa lyme activist

i was readingTICK articles online, and was directed here from feedback to article written.

VERY POWER, MOVING VIDEO; well done. Praying for all with TBInjuries on your recovery process.

In our TICK/LYME world, TBI means something else too: TICK-BORNE insects; so I used to get confused when we throw the abbreviations around losely.

May God bless you all; restore your health as much as possible. Thx to good rehab staff too. HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2010~

  • Great Video, I am passing this on to everyone I think would pass the info. on.

  • I have had that happen to me!!! and it was soo scary!!

  • When I was in rehab for tbi I was so embarrassed to be in the wheel chair even though everyone else was but I woke up and thought I was in a tanning bed even though my mom was there then I felt the scar on my stomach and feeding tube and diapers and I thought how could this happen to me I was cheerleading captain whats going on? But I made sure I walked out of that place!

  • @jemmaandie09

What was your injury? And how long was your rehab? Are you OK now?

  • @Azbikerboy

I had several broken bones, many internal injuries, & a traumatic brain injury. I was air e-vaced to SLU (St. Louis university) on Feb. 14. 2009 then on March 18, 2009 I was sent to a rehab for TBI's, & on May 5, 2009 I was released. I'm doing good now, I'm in college & driving & everything

  • @Azbikerboy Sorry I don't get on here to often. I had a tramautic brain injury, there were injuries to my left frontal lobe, the front, & back of my head. Along with other broken bones & multiple internal injuries. I was in rehab from March 18th-May 5th. I'm in college, I have been for the past 2 years, actually going to get my physical therapist degree, & I'm driving again....I'm just glad I never gave up even if it does take a while to recover

  • Yes- dropped! They resussitated my husband kept him alive on machines, never being honest re the fact that he wil NEVER recover. I want to scream when I hear about "rehab". M had more rehab than most. 7 mos and then outpatient at our hospital's outpatient rehab. But for the last 1 1/2 yrs, we've been on our own. No help with care giving in our State. Eventually family and friends go on with their own lives and time brings forgetfulness to them. But for us, the struggle goes on.

  • Im so glad these people had other people supporting them. I'm glad theri family came to their rescue...I had no one!

  • the speaker couldnt of said it any better" brain injury is a chalange, cause i suffered a suvior teumatic brain injury

check out my webssite its all about my road to recovery

  • Brain chip for brain damage - CHECK MY SITE.

  • God bless the wonderful doctors, nurses, therapists, CNAs, etc. As terribly painful as this has been for us to see Mom go through this, these wonderfully, loving people make each day so much easier. That we may one day focus on TBI research and healing in this country would be a blessing to so many victims and their families.

  • My mother is 18 months post injury. She's a very young 65. We just recently learned she suffered from normal-pressure hydrocephalus. She is showing great strides in her improvement since the shunt was put in in December '08.

  • As a survivor of a brain injury, this video hit close to home. I started off in a coma and when I woke up I progressed to using a wheelchair. Eventually transitioning to using a cane. As stated in the video, brain injury is in many ways swept under the rug in regards to the medical discussion.

  • Harborview rehab is a wonderful facility for relearning the basics and higher thinking.

  • I am a physical therapy specialist in brain injury, when i was watching on this video i felt very dedicated to my job, recovery in rehabilitation depends mainly on the patient motivation and enthusiasm for recovery.

  • I was in a collision on my bicycle with a truck followed by 22 days in a coma.

Truth is - keeping positive intentions is what healing is all about, for survivors and community. Had everyone I know inviting my spirit back into my body, worked. Now I can walk again, talk kinda slurred, think, play piano, remember little things. Just keep the intention up, watching all these videos and reading the comments can be hard, make healing your inention!

  • My husband suffered from TBI after an accident in Dec 05. He was in a coma for a few months and woke up paralyzed. We were told he would never be able to walk, talk, or do anything he ever did before. They were WRONG! I brought him home and we participated in non-traditional therapies and he is now living proof that one can survive! He is back as a auto graphic/customizing artist and is 100% independent. Never give up on yourself and most importantly, never give up on the patient!

  • Can you tell me about the non-traditional therapy? Hav a client the is TBI and gathering all the info i can. Thanks for your time.

  • In Yr 2K got TBI. I found this after 6 YRS search from these many yrs i was in search of self trainer

    thanks for video

  • i was 17 years old involved in a car wreck and i spend 8 weeks in coma and i was still recovering years laterwhen i was involved in another accident on the job as an electrician getting electrocuted and now they said it made my brain inujury worse than before

  • I'm a clinical neuropsychologist and neuroscientist, working w/ brain injury rehabilitation, and I get emotioned when I saw this video, but even more happy when I read those comments here! All you deserve congratulations. The mainly part of the rehab process depends on you, so you most go on, though we know sometimes it's difficult. However, each result compensates everything. Keep on trying! My best regards.

  • Thank you for this powerful video

  • I have brain cancer, and the doctors almost killed me taking it out. I had to learn to walk, talk, eat, dress myself, see out of my left eye, etc. Still partially paralyzed. No guitar now.

I used to be a friggin rock star, but that is done...

    danny blitz

  • Danny, never give up. My prayers go to you, and I'll play extra until the time WHEN you can play again.

    Bill

  • Thank you Bill! Just bang on the guitar for me until the Lord heals me.

I'm going to learn to write songs on another instrument until I can move my hand.

    God bless,

    Danny Blitz
