  • I actually like the fact that other races are weird and mine is normal.

  • Alton is the only genuine person on The Food Network

  • @Swingfinger I...actually...genuinely agree with this statement. Look at Guy Fieri....I mean...wtf is that?

  • Hehe I love that old lady in the end, "And if I like it you're going to like it!".

  • a +

  • He is truly amazing.

  • "...and if I like it, you gonna like it"

Words spoken by a true cook.

  • I love learning about other cultures, and races. I love trying new foods from other cultures, it's exciting, and really opens up the world to a person!

  • There is racism everywhere you look, and there always will be. But food helps break that underlying human negative reaction. Food from other cultures or races taste so damn good.

  • Food brings us together. We all have to eat. Food conncects us through our past, present , and future.

  • Hell yeah. You said it man.

  • "And If I like it you GONNA like it."

Ehehe, that woman reminds me of my best friends mama. :) Now I wish to hug her. :3

  • That's what my father and my mama would say. They didn't follow a receipes or measure things.

  • Food is a statement of race and class. Very profound! I love Alton!

  • The first season was the best.... then the second season, was alright. I could have lived without the waves.

But, if it weren't for the "Feasting on..." shows, then I wouldn't laugh so much during his Good Eats shows. I see his "Feasting" crew on there a lot!!

  • I love the "Feasting on..." shows! There is something so different about the way Mr. Brown goes behind the scenes at these establishments that is unlike and so much better than the other "food traveling" shows. I agree though that a lot of food reflects race and class. Italian food is based on poverty and what was available. Same thing in this instance. Traveling through Arkansas I saw incredible poverty and stopped at a place for barbecue that I would never think to go back home. It was good!

  • While I don't ENTIRELY agree with AB'S assessment, I do think this is a great video. I think many people find it very difficult NOT to make race or class a factor in general life. Which is not the same as being racist, which is just evil.
