Thank you so very much for posting this.......It was absolutely fantastic!!!! Why is my cat the size of a volkswagon? How did that happen, talking stop sign?
in sept 1967, when this song came out. i was in the 5th grade. we use to sing this in the back of the school bus, loud, sha laallla. we got kicked off the bus for 2 weeks. so dude, this boy knows too.
If not for this band, with Ed King, Lynnard Skynnard would have never existed. But this is one of my favorites. To bad Skynnard didn't play this type songs.
strawberry alarm clock yeah! they have a lot of great songs! i love strawberry mean love yeah... great video so... psychedelic lot of colors lot of fun! yeah great job peace love grunge
ClassicRockHead69: Whoa !! Your info says you're only 15 yrs.old ! How can you be into this ? I saw SAC in DEC. '67. Had two drummers that night and fat, round-faced kid playing lead. He co-wrote "Incense.." Fat kid went on to join Lynyrd Skynyrd in '72. He was Ed King. That is Ed counting down the beginging on Sweet Home recording. He played on all of Skynryd's biggest hits.
I just love this music it's so good, this is music not like today's shit, thats noise, wow did he really Skynard? thats awesome I didn't know that, well peace man
CRH69: Still have my ticket stub from Strawberry Alarm Clock show. Dec. 23rd, 1967. Went with two other guys that were in my "garage band" at the time. One of them (lead singer) was later killed in stinkin' Vietnam on March 6th, 1969. Not a concert, but a teen night club. Could walk right up to stage and watch them play. Ed King has a website...Google his name.
Wow a 40 year old ticket I can't belive you held on to that, no way you had a band, what was the name? sorry to hear about your friend, that stupid pointless war we should have just stayed out Nam, alright I'll check out the site, Hey I invited you as a friend I hope you accept
Our band was The Cherry Spirit....yeah, I know, kind of geeky. Sounded cool at the time ! I was bass (Gibson EB-2 hollow body thru a '68 Fender Bassman). Lead guitarist (Rickenbacker thru a '65 Fender Super Reverb). Organist: Hammond B-3 thru a '65 Fender Super Reverb coupled with Leslie Tone Cabinet. Drummer: (Slingerland)------Did we make it big: NO. -----------------The fun we had: PRICELESS !
That name dosen't sound so bad, wow you guys had an organist? awesome! I'd like to start a band, that'd be pretty cool have, right now I'm learning to play the guitar
Man, I wish I was back in the 60s, best bands starting up (Three Dog Night,Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Lemon Pipers ETC... all the psychedelic rock) and then the Metal Movement 20 years later.
Good sense, innocence, cripplin' and kind. Dead kings, many things I can't define. Oh Cajun spice, sweats and blushers your mind. Incense and peppermints, the color of thyme. Incense and peppermints, meaningless nouns. Turn on, tune in, turn your eyes around. Look at yourself, look at yourself. Yeah Tune-a by the cockeyed world in two. Throw your pride to one side, It's the least you can do. Beatniks and politics, nothing is new. A yardstick for lunatics, one point of view.
