what exactly is the relation between this gaelic song (i presume) sang by a german band (again, i presume) to norse mythology(i am quite definietyly sure), as the pictures all describe stories from norse mythology?
@pouffsie people who are fascinated by pagan culture and dont forget what happened usually are fascinated by both celtic and norse mythology, since both are very close in culture.
What language is this song in? I'm not sure, but I think it's Greek... I can't speak Greek, but I saw some of it during Latin courses. This song has lots of th's, ch's and ph's, and the "ä" souds like an èta. Also there are -an and -on endings on the words. It also mentions Gaia/Gaea and Uranus/Ouranos. I am pretty sure it is Greek ;-)
@colouredmirrorball It doesn't sound like Greek or Latin to me. It may be like all their other songs though, German. hmm...maybe. I'm only saying maybe because I've only heard 3 songs, and Egil Saga was german.
It's part of the Homeric hymn "Εις Γήν μητέρα πάντων" - "To Earth the mother of all". The reason it doesn't sound like Greek imho is because they manage to combine the ancient Greek pronunciation with their German accent.. but in a unique, wonderful way.
Zeus -Tiwaz - Thor.
@CaptKujata sorry my english is no so good in english: I want to sing of the earth, they allmother (The firmly reasonable ones, oldest of all beings. She feeds all creatures, everybody, them on the divine ones earths stir) Everybody who stir in the seas and all flies. They all live on her fullness. Is greeted a mother earth, Wife of the starry sky.
I didnt think Faun were also singing in ancient greek...Epic song and I salute you from Greece

@animez15 It is ancient Greek. The lyrics they sing in fact are:

songtext in deutsch:

The earth I will sing, the Great Goddess
(The detailed proof, the eldest of all beings.
It nourishes all creatures, all the earth to the divine in rain)
All those in the seas begin to stir, and all the fly.
Their fill of it all live.
Hail Mother Earth
Wife of the starry sky.

Hail, mother earth,

I guess in that way the Norse images don't really relate... but they and the music are nice any way )O(
