this reminds me of two times i had a run in with a trucker. was turn off 67 onto powayroad cutoff and a young driver pulled his air horn behind and i almost ran off the road. he was grinning all the way by. the other had to do with comming home from Escondido and one got me for passing him i thought he was loaded he wasn't and thought he was going to kill me.
Played this part driving hubby's 1T dually.I blew black all over a young gal in a little "foreign" car who tailgaited me so close I could not see her behind the 8ft bed @ times. When I got to about a 5 mile straighaway,I let her have it.She disappeared behind the smoke.LOL! She was no match for that Duramax.
Jim and Jesse were the greatest! Love their harmony on this tune, they sound a lot like Buck Owens and Don Rich. Would've been nice to hear the Buckaroos do it.
If you're a Jim and Jesse fan, check out their 1976 live version of "Ole Slew Foot" on Youtube with Garland Shuping on banjo. Unbelievably good pickin'.
When i was a kid my dad used to make "trucking" mix-tapes, where every song was a country tune about driving trucks. Sounds weird, but I LOVED them. Which is odd as now I am the farthest thing from a country fan. If country music still sounded like this today I would count myself a country fan. This was always my favorite truckin' song. Thanks for posting!
I remember hearing this song on the radio when I was in high school. Wish there was more 'country music' today that actually sounds like country music.
Kenworth W900 w/ Screaming Jimmy diesel and pulling a trailer vs. VW Beetle on a mountain. Not a good scenario, but makes a screamin' good song! Love this!

My mom would be the diesel. I've seen her do it. Scares the little compacts to death!! In truckers terms... "the little four-wheelers"

Hey, this song would be perfect for Junior Brown. I can just hear the guitsteel on this.
A doodlebug...
So close that I could steal his license plate. Nice lyrics.
Enjoyed this by Jim and Jesse. Thanks for posting it.
