Looks are subjective. All the cars you named are amazing in their own way. To downplay the GT-R really doesn't make sense. It helped to improve so many cars through beating them (Porsche especially - 6 sp to PDK) as well as the Vette (Z06 to ZR1) and Viper (the upcoming 2013). The new 2012 GT-R has already beaten the ZR1 at the NBR (7:24:22 in the wet) and clocks 2.9 to 60 and 11.2 to 11 flat @123-125 Mph 1/4 - stock. The customer wins - because now everyone else must improve their cars - again.

You are correct that the ACR Viper is still faster (7:22). We will again need to see where the 2012 GT-R's final numbers are. That said - the ACR is very much like the GT3RS - so the Spec V GTR would be a closer comparison. Either way - the Viper and the 300K GT2RS are the only two cars faster as of this date.

Everyone's probably going to think i'm crazy, but i've had this idea that if I ever won the lotto (as this endeavor would quite possibly be the most expensive custom creation ever put on four wheels) I would first buy both a JDM 2010 R35 GT-R and a JDM 2010 Nissan Skyline 370GT (infiniti G37 coupe). Second, have a renowned Nissan tuning shop R&D to adapt the R35's aerodynamics into a custom one-off body kit that would resemble the R35's styling and allow for the GT-R's entire underpinnings to...
@spiritsword83 ... be utilized on the V37 chassis and also design a custom interior that would utilize the GT-R's LCD display screen as well as all of the toggle switches and the steering wheel. In the end I would have the world's only *true* Nissan Skyline GT-R, which would look arguably better than the R35 and definitely more satisfying.

@IIZODIIAC Japanese cars are the epitome of soullessness. The GTR just happens to be the prime example. And the "reliability" of Jap cars is a laughable myth, too. Toyotas will kill you, and Mitsu's and Mazdas, et al, have never been better than average in reliability. Across the board, bland, boring, uninspired, derivative, cookie-cutter garbage.

@IIZODIIAC I didn't specify RX7 or RX8; Mazda as a brand is just average in reliability. The GTR is bland when compared to other supercars, which it admittedly is. Again, it's a hell of a machine, especially for the money, but it just has no soul.
With very few exceptions--the 240Z, the 90's Supra, and the RX-7, Japanese cars are simply boring. There are some examples of great quality and reliability (and boredom)--Accord, Civic--that people somehow extend to all Jap. cars. Utterly bogus

Everyone's probably going to think i'm crazy, but i've had this idea that if I ever won the lotto (as this endeavor would quite possibly be the most expensive custom creation ever put on four wheels) I would first buy both a JDM 2010 R35 GT-R and a JDM 2010 Nissan Skyline 370GT (infiniti G37 coupe). Second, have a renowned Nissan tuning shop R&D to adapt the R35's aerodynamics into a custom one-off body kit that would resemble the R35's styling and allow for the GT-R's entire underpinnings to...

@spiritsword83 ... be utilized on the V37 chassis and also design a custom interior that would utilize the GT-R's LCD display screen as well as all of the toggle switches and the steering wheel. Custom seats, stitching, etc. Third, VR38 engine and GR6 transmission would be swapped into the V37 and all necessary welding and custom parts made/installed. In the end I would have the world's only *true* Nissan Skyline GT-R, which would look arguably better than the R35 and definitely more satisfying.

FOLKS....there is a difference between a supercar and a super exotic. This car is for the absolute pure car enthusiast. Lambos, vipers, ferraris, vettes, etc. .lets get real....those cars perform well but one thing that we know for sure when we buy those cars... heads will turn. Its all preference, me personally I like the ZR1 and Vipers just cuz I don't see chicks driving them. Anyways just remember the difference between super exotics and supercars. With all that said the GTR still ROCKS!

@soucorp I can't be agree with You .You see...There're regular Corvette C06 which has 405HP and regular Nissan GT-R with 485HP...GT-R is faster.If We compare GT-R with COrvette Z06-this version is almost fast like GT-R. But what about the ZR1.Yes You're right ZR1 is much faster and more agressive than the GT-R. Don't forget tha Nissan developed the 2 versions of the GT-R. GT-R P800 which has 800 HP and the newest model GT-R R850 which has 850 HP...Now ZR1 is lost;) thanks:)
