@weavernest Santriani is an awesome guitarist for sure, but Hendrix would have to bow to no one!! 90% of rock guitarists play the way they do BECAUSE of Hendrix. And, if you notice, in the first few bars of the song, Santriani is playing almost note-for-note of the original Hendrix version.

@kluiba fine - of course Jimi wrote the tune, and with Jimi "tune" includes "basic solo structure", but credit to Satch for playing it so great. The blues are harder to play than they look and sound.

That's what I really hate. People that say that all shredder have little or no feel.... Then if you feel that way. Then most if not all jazz and flamenco guitar players would be lumped into to that class, because mosty of those guy have the ability to play freaking fast. Then again classic music would be the same, because it complex and fast. If you heard the Flight Of The Bumble Bee, for the first time you would complain about it being too fast and being too mechanical sounding for music.
