  • Well guys, have you ever heard Jon Butcher's cover of RED HOUSE??? It's equally as good!!

  • when your guitar work at 20 years old completely blows Mick Jagger off the stage,

    you know you're doing alright

this is my favourite non-Hendrix version of Red House on the guitar

    transcendant

  • Best Guitar Player, sharing with the most famous ones.!!!!

  • If Jimmy was alive today I think he would have to bow down to Sach. Sach has elevated the craft of guitar playing to another world.

  • @weavernest Santriani is an awesome guitarist for sure, but Hendrix would have to bow to no one!! 90% of rock guitarists play the way they do BECAUSE of Hendrix. And, if you notice, in the first few bars of the song, Santriani is playing almost note-for-note of the original Hendrix version.

  • @weavernest Proof positive that free speech exists. No matter how ignorant the comment, the forum for idiots and intellects alike, utube is open to all.

  • Satch just makes it all better...doesnt matter who sings.

  • Mother fuc*er can play though ....Stop all the Hatin'

  • Amazing !! thanks for the video man !! Jagger is the best !

  • I had this video on vhs, it was ages ago. At the same show Joe plays satch boogie with Steve Vai.

  • Thems were the good old days

  • wow this was actually crazy good. now the question remains.. who has a bigger mouth when performing? Jagger or Vai?! lol jk. awesome vid.

  • Thx for posting this....This is actually a treat for me....very rare indeed! what a combo I never thought existed! Sach & Mick? Wow!

  • Thank you very much for posting! Can I get this on DVD? Peace to you all.

  • These guys are just perfect.

  • Hey, somebody said Mick Jagger is a woman trapped in a man's body? Hmmmmm...

  • Thank you for capturing this priceless little bit of "histoire", even through the sound quality I can hear that this is my favourite version of Red House beside Jimi's, and there have been some good ones, too.

ahh to be young and talented....

crowd know what they're hearing ...

  • Thanks for the post... this is way cool....

  • flying in a bleu dream......team ;-)

  • haha , mick jagger singing Red House , classic rock!

  • wow jagger is obviously a woman caught in a men's body ;)

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • wow Satch with hair!!! THAT´S SOMETHING!

  • Wow, I didn't know they did Red House! I also didn't know Jagger got to grab Joe's band, I thought he'd just tapped Satch. This is awesome, wish it were released on disc!

  • @Jmurray5150 listen to the original recording from hendrix, satch stole this solo:)

  • @kluiba fine - of course Jimi wrote the tune, and with Jimi "tune" includes "basic solo structure", but credit to Satch for playing it so great. The blues are harder to play than they look and sound.

Satch is full of soul here.

  • The Brothers of Sodom . Awesome!!!

  • Been a Satch fan for years and as always great playing...

  • Thanks for sharing this... I have been a long time Satch fan and still trying to find vids of things I heard about, but weren't done here in the US...

  • All of us living electric guitarists are Jimi's children.

    love "easy pal" ...!

  • Easy pal. Satch is because Jimi was.

  • true dat

  • when I filter out the lack of sound quality, I can say, I've only heard one other person do Red House with more soul and freedom...

  • GARY MOORE

  • i used to think Joe looked funny bald, but now i think he looks funny with hair.

  • Awesome.

  • Satch feel the blues very well ! very impressive ...

  • k. yer a dumbell

  • how can u say that a man who stills rock's a crowd of 1/2 mill. people or 50,00.00 in one nite -

  • mick is fantastic!

    and joe.....perfect, as always

  • Red house is amongst the most soulful, expressive, and difficult songs to play

  • Joe Satriani,simply the best.

  • This is not Jagger in Japan but at the Bottom Line New York City after he'd hired Satriani as his guitar player for PRIMITIVE COOL tour in Japan and Australia - on the actual tour they did Hendrix's FOXY LADY.

  • Spread your pussy, then maybe

  • sometime during this song Joe must of realized that he was living his dream

  • Joe played an entire tour with Mick.

  • reeeetard!!

  • bullshit japanese have fantastic music taste wat about guns n roses fans

  • fucking sweet cover

  • i dont know what them blokes below are on about satch aint a shredder in the slightest! and both hendrix and satch are bloody great players so you cant go round saying one is shit cos there both awesome!!!

  • Jimi Hendrix is the inspiration for this - really the pace and phrasing is not much different to his... however, inspired this aint - and Jimi hendrix this aint - i guess that all goes without saying. What is fascinating for me is how much better Mick is with the Stones (wait a minute - somethings wrong - aint much blues feel goin down round here)

  • its in tune .damn straight it aint jimi .he couldn't have hoped to play with such skill.

  • love how he covers a Hendrix song , his death inspired Satriani to pick up the guitar

  • joe is the guitar daddy but jimi's red house just kills this nonsense!

  • players do cover songs not aiming to be better than the original but to celebrate the timeless classics. In this case, the mighty great guitarist Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix is #1 ofcourse and Satch is #2 in my list :)

  • wow how old is satch in this vid. and how old is he now?

  • in this vid:32 ; NOW:52

  • Fark off, joe is a great player but he this is a cover version, lest we forget covers are shit and orignals are gold 99.99% of the time and just because hes got mick with him it dont change anything, jimi would piss all over joe from the grave and yet dont because he appreciates great music just like these two

  • players do cover songs not aiming to be better than the original but to celebrate the timeless classics. In this case, the mighty great guitarist Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix is #1 ofcourse and Satch is #2 in my list :)

  • ELECTRICFARKNLADYFARKNLAND....for farks sake...bet you all these wankers are on Facebook too...Joe good...Joe bin da man 2...but Jimmy was a visionary plus good on ya Mick for doing this and doing the blues when and how and with who you want, if there wasnt some angle lol. Pat on the back GNRBC....can we have some more pls PEACE

  • satch learned from hendrix, satch got better than hendrix and now he way better!!!

  • Jimi was a pioneer, but I don't care what anyone says, SATCH IS BETTER!

I know...to some people saying that is like saying Billy Graham has more faith than the pope, because Jimi is like a guitar deity at this point, "OH MY GOD DON'T BLASPHEME AGAINST JIMI!!!"

But it's true. Joe would blow Jimi off the stage.

  • this coming from someone i pretty sure doesn't play guitar. Joe is a freak monster on guitar compare jimi.

  • That's what I really hate. People that say that all shredder have little or no feel.... Then if you feel that way. Then most if not all jazz and flamenco guitar players would be lumped into to that class, because mosty of those guy have the ability to play freaking fast. Then again classic music would be the same, because it complex and fast. If you heard the Flight Of The Bumble Bee, for the first time you would complain about it being too fast and being too mechanical sounding for music.

  • When's the last time you listened to a satch album. Joe is not a shredder..... he can shred BUT he is a blues man. Joe puts so much soul into his playing. I can name a hundred songs that Satch has that he doesn't shred. He is a TONE MONSTER!!!

  • ok dude i know how good Satch is and ive listened to him for a long time....I just dont like it when people say that he did this song better than Jimi thats BULLSHIT!.....but he does do it his way witch is gvery good too...it maby sounded like I dont like Satch but i do he is a master at the guitar its just i listen to more of jimi, stevie, philip sayce stuff. Nothing against Satch at all just dont say he does a jimi song better than he ever did that fucking rude as hell dude!

  • what?? I didn't say he does Jimi songs better than jimi. Are you kidding?? you got the wrong dude. He's not a shredder.

  • yea your shit for brains pal, look into shawn lane, Vai, buckethead, or govan and tell me they their tone doesn't have feeling

  • ok they don;t, well vai does

  • le-gen-da-ry!

  • Mick is great, as expected. But give me the late great Jimi Hendrix any fucking day over this poser.

  • Mick is great...true. Give me Jimi Hendrix any day...also true...but calling Satriani a poser...HYSTERICAL. Guess posers have 23 albums under their belt, grammy's, be on tour for the majority of the year and have a genuine sincerity about them (hint, Im talking about Joe). Oh, and I forgot, being such a GOOD poser that the GREAT MICK JAGGER asks you to tour with him! Well my friend, give me a poser any day!

  • GRandissimooooo!!!!!!Joe sei il mio mito

  • Hendrix could do the playing and the singing.

  • Stones are the Greatest ever!

  • NO ONE CARES . JOE IS THE BEST PERIOD!

  • la primera y ultima vez que Jagger toca con un violero que sabe afinar su guitarra.

  • jajajajajja!!! esta es buena!

  • I don't think this was in Japan; Mick sat in with them at the Bottom Line in NYC. Also, those audience comments don't sound like Japanese.

  • Yeah, i guess a jap audience would go nuts too but in a different way. Dunno, maybe some dude with Joe's tour history knowledge would clear this up. Anyway this is a jawdropping one.

  • thats a great cover hnedrix would be proud

  • Ooooh Mick, you look so sexy when ya shake your ass like that!! Love it, hot stuff:)

  • This song was written by Jimi Hendrix.

  • is that really joe?

  • no, he is its cousin XD XD

  • yeah is satch

  • no, it is mick jagger:)

  • @paddie353535 he wasn't born bald, dude...

  • nice!
