  • nice bike and cool set up im debating either the max air or dragan breath kit for the intake is it possible to do both or not? I would imaging yours get better flow being in the position to suck more air in rather than being under the tank, please send your thoughts and comments it would be greatly appreciated.. sweet bikie for "a chick"

  • @drugist1974 G'day! I don't think it's possible to do both. I chose the Dragon's Breath because I didn't want to have to fiddle with carb adjustments all the time - just rejet and go. When I put it on, I could literally hear the engine breathing. The only drawback is that you probably wouldn't want to ride in a downpour. I just wanted something that worked well, increased performance, didn't need constant tweaking, and looked cool. :-) Good luck in choosing your mod, and ride safe!

  • i love how you say exhaust!!!! cool vids

  • PISSER - Really. I love the approach that chicks who are into bikes take. They seem much more straight forward and honest about what they are into and what they are doing with their bikes. I think I have learned more talking to 3 chick bikers than 50 guys. That is really a simple improvement but so clean sounding (and mean). No pain their at all - one thing though, you should really hit that throttle so we can hear it roar a bit. NICE !

  • @rudy7921 - :-) Girls on bikes are a whole other breed.... Wish I could hit the throttle a bit - should have done that, had a great tone, and performance was improved substantially - but a new owner is enjoying the exhaust now, and I've moved on to the bigger, badder Victorys. The 1100 will always have a place in my heart though - loved that bike!!!

  • Don't go to the zoo because you'll piss off all of the lions...

    Great sound!

  • Still after seeing so many videos of v stars on YouTube, this is one of the best sounding of them all.

  • nice exhaust..not sure about the shark tip though, some chrome covers for the filters would be sweet....:D

  • Take out the emblems, it would look SOOOO MUCH SEXIER!!! Great pipes!

  • I love your bike. Where do I find the Dragonsbreath intake for my 1100? Do you have a website?

  • @Fishtheniagara - You can Google metric magic dragons breath and it's the first result, at sloneservices (sorry, can't put a URL into here). The owner Tim was absolutely awesome - we sent the entire carb assembly to him. He rejetted for us and reinstallation was a breeze. He's fast and very professional - and offers lots of other goodies for metric bikes. Good luck!

  • what size jets did you use? Nice bike.

  • Nice bike, I have a V-Star 1100 Custom, check out my vids, just had it painted!

I do have a question about the dragons breath though? I'm thinking of doing the same to my bike, and I was curious if you could tell me which jets and other mods you had to do to the carbs to get it the run properly or did everything you need come with the dragons breath kit? It's the only thing I'm worried about trying to figure out what jets and other work I need to do.

  • Thank you! The silverado is a good bike and I don't get to ride it much due to working but Id like to make it more responsive and a little louder...need to rejet and try new pipes again. Thanks for your input, your a nice person!! Much appreciated!!!

  • Just curious, did you re-jet the carburators also along with the intake and exhaust upgrades? Did your gas mileage drop after these upgrades?

  • Yes, it's an absolute must or you risk blueing your pipes or other probs. I added a Dragon's Breath intake - much more performance increase than a hypercharger - and rejetted. Was getting around 45 mph after the work and much better performance. Could actually 'hear' the bike breathing after that. Awesome. And the Dragon's Breath filters looked pain amazing.

  • I put Vance and Hines on mine and I had to take them off. They were obnoxiously loud. Yours sounds the way I wish my vstar would...

  • Sorry they didn't work out for you. They were a LOT louder than stock, but I got used to them. In retrospect there were a lot quieter than the Victory slash pipes I have on my Vic bike now. I remember when I fired up the 650 the first time with the V&H slip ons on, I nearly fell off the back to the bike - they were that startling. Earplugs work - recommend that to all bike riders.

  • The Silverado has a windsheild, studded leather saddle bags and studded seats and passenger backrest with the same treatment. Otherwise your bike is identical to mine mechanicly. Your bike sounds and looks great!

  • The Silverado is an awesome bike. :-) Love the bags on them - quality.

  • Sweet bike;

    Sweet voice

    Yours n bike's

  • I like your bike very much and very nice tastefully done modifications also! I own a 06 vstar classic silverado 1100, all stock, I love these bikes, very nice to ride, good mpg and overall build quality is excellent! I just hate the oil change procedure though, yamaha should of never designed it that way!!!

  • Thank you! The VStars are wonderful rides - great value and terrific performance. Not sure how different the Silverado is, but you might want to check into the Roadhouse 2-into-1 exhaust - I was able to change the oil without removing the front exhaust pipe - just loosen it. I agree that the 1100 oil change is a bad design - is about the only thing I didn't like about the 1100! Enjoy your ride!

  • Hi, loved the video. I too have an 1100 Classic, and I also have the 60 MPH top end vibration, which so far (it's my first bike) has inhibited me from pushing it. It just isn't a good ride once I get up there. It bothers me because I feel uncomfortable in roads with 60 or more speed limits. It sounds like you fixed the problem. How is it now? When you hit 60 does it feel as smooth as it did at 50? And if how much did your air intake and exhaust upgrade cost you? Thanks. Gus in Miami.

  • @carreramia1100

go to google and type in v star 1100 toc and go to that forum

  • Nice bike, love the sound of the pipes!

  • Very nice! Love the pipes!

  • Beautiful bike but a little to quiet for my liking.

  • when you go long ride this ike get's hot?

  • Luchito - no. It doesn't get any hotter than any other air-cooled V-twin. The exhaust is fully shielded - I can put my leg right alongside the pipes and be OK.

  • :-) Can't let you guys have all the fun, now can we?

  • Yeah, there's nothing more beautiful than a woman on a cruiser... :)

  • Sounds greate;-)
