  • I have a son that is 18 now. We have a country place in northern Quebec. I've been hunting deer, moose and even a bear or two with him since he was eight or nine years old.

Why did you give your son the mag if he wasn't even holding the rifle properly? You weren't being a very good instructor. Then, ripping the rifle out of his hands and loading it as if your son was an idiot makes you look like the idiot, not your boy.

If I were you, I'd delete this vid.

  • If you're so big on safety... what about one of the top 4.... keep the barrel pointed in a safe direction at all times. Even while fooling around with it teaching him how to check the chamber.

I found this out the hard way once when teaching someone else safety.

  • @risk3715 what happened to make you find out the hard way?

  • Nice shooting guys, firend let me borrow his colt ar 15 today . .so im heading out in a moment ot test it out. Thought I'd check some vids first.

  • and also you should be teaching him to KEEP HIS FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL HE IS READY TO FIRE.....

  • it's much easier to charge the rifle with your right hand, with your left hand holding the rifle by the handguard.

  • very nice, its ver important to teach the shooter befre letting them fire the rifle...otherwise you end up like other idiots her on youtube with "scope eye" and "revolver headache" =]

nice vid..nice to see someone taking the time to teach proper shooting skills

  • @dan16802 yeah no kidding. How many videos are there of asshats dropping a firearm into untrained hands just for fun? I want to slap everyone involved in those videos. lol

For some reason they like watch them damn near kill someone and think it's funny.

Poor safety rules. Blame the instructor or lack there of.

  • it is verry important to have a good tacher when you learn to shoot!

    no triggerfingers!

  • take it easy on the kid, you had a bit of an atiitude

  • I have one other bit of advice for you sir. When an AR malfunctions S.P.O.R.T.S. is the "proper" method to get the rifle back into action. SPORTS is Slap the magazine, Pull the charging handle. Observe the breech, Releasing the charging handle, Tap the foward assist and then Shoot. Try doing that with the left hand only. Then try it with the right hand while you keep the forearm in the left hand. Tell me what you learn from this little exercise. Try it while prone as well. ARMY TRAINING !!! ;)

  • Limiting your techniques to only charging the rifle with the left hand and loading with left hand only is just that. Try shooting from the prone position and you will find that loading and charging the rifle with the left hand is not very efficient. Using the right hand is better in such a case. Don't be so ridgid, adapt. So long as The Four Rules are followed, method of operation isn't so important. You were not military trained were you? Lighten up for your kids sake, it isn't basic training.

  • Kev, don't let a boob like that get to ya. From his comments alone a videogame is closest he has come to holding a rifle.

  • this guy is probably a little sad that his kids cant handle guns

  • We all start somewhere. How would you feel if you were trying to learn and some butt munch posted garbage like what you did? We are all noobs at one time. Your smart ass comments do nothing but reflect on your personality - both aint worth a crap.

  • yah sorry i wasnt thinkin there i was a little pissed off sorry.
