I never understood why the platform never vaporizes when the gate is dialed. Also, they never finished Stargate Atlantis. The new drive McKay invented could easily get them home from Destiny but they never even talk about it or about the fact the whole, entire city is in the San Francisco bay, if that's even possible. I don't think it could fit in any lake, bay or river in the US. They need to start the SGA series again or at least start another series to carry it on.

@guitargodthor The platform doesn't vaporize because the unstable wormhole ejection (kawoosh) is only in the centre of the gate, the piece above the lower arc of the gate would probably be vaporized but no further. No wormhole drive because they don't have enough power.

@ReallyParadoxically The piece above the lower arc would be vaporized, that's what I'm saying but it hasn't happened yet for some reason. I don't remember where they drew the power from but if they did it once, they should be able to do it again. They do have the resources of the entire planet Earth after all. They also have naquida generators. If they wanted, maybe they could build a giant one in the city to power it or something. I just read that they're making an Atlantis movie, can't wait!

Their biggest problem would be getting more ZPMs to power Atlantis' wormhole drive for two trips. They've destroyed two planets getting to Destiny so far, and that's from powering the gates. To move a city-ship like Atlantis that far twice would take even more power.

@guitargodthor i think you are overestimating the size of atlantis. indeed i doubt it would fit in the san francisco bay, but lakes can be quite massive, as can rivers and bays. that being said, it wouldnt have landed in any body of water without a resulting wave generated by its touch down. THAT would have been noticed in San francisco. furthermore i agree 1000% that SGA should re-start, as well as SGU

FINALLY, FUCKING FINALLY a "movie" where the antagonist (rush in this episode) KILLED the bad-guy first chance he got. So many movies end with the antagonist not killing the bad-guy and taking him prisoner allowing him to cause problems. FUCK YES I LOVE SGU!
