Love Olomana, especially the beautiful Auntie Huanani, a real Hawaiian treasure. So rudely distracting that the bus went by during this awesome song. I think when Santos and troupe are playing, everything else should stop because what's more important that sharing Aloho and preserving the dwindling Hawaiian culture. Oh damn, two buses. Well it is Hawaii after all.
Not too many songs can get one's eyes misting over like this one can. It is so beautiful -- the guitar is one of the most amazing pieces of music EVER. I love to hear Haunani on the guitar. She is an amazing musician. Wally makes it full soundiing, and Uncle Jerry - well, gee, he is a man of great aloha and talent. They malama the music.
I bought the first Olomana album on a visit to Oahu from London in 1979. Lovely record with many happy memories attached to it for me. Maybe one day I'll find myself back in Hawaii. Great to see you are still making music Jerry. Long may you do so.
