  • congratulations and got some respect from a man who did such a nice project.i wish i could do the same.i leard car-mechanic but i never had the nerve to go on such a project-i only dreamed about it.how did you find out which dashboard you can take from which car and how was it possible that everything functions after build in and where did you clamp the dashboard?:)

  • @TURBOKNIGHTRIDER

I took a Malibu LTZ for a test drive to see if I liked the dash. I did, then got one to drop in the Fiero. It was more work insyaling the dash than the engine. I just changed what did not fit and made new mounts, for the most part the mounts are where the Malibu mounted up. I used the stock Monte Carlo electronics, gauges, HVAC system, steering columb, light switches and entire wire harness from bumper to bumper to get it all to work.

  • @welditrick That´s great-really.i think i never would could get this like you:(

  • If I had an LS9 I would put it in a Saturn Sky with the 6 speed manual Vette trans in the rear.

If I had 2 LS9's the other would go in a much more custom Fiero;)

  • put a ls9 motor in that thing see what happens i bet no one has thought of that yet lol.

  • @Turtle889 shit...i thought about putting an LS9 in just about anything...even my lawn mower riding tractor...

  • That is a gorgeous engine compartment. You did a great job cleaning it up. That engine sounds amazing and i would love to do the same to my 88' fiero.

  • Wow, I'm curious as to how you were able to get all of this smog legal in California. I'd love to do a swap on my 88' GT but it's quite a challenge I'm assuming.

  • That is an amazing swap, it's really neat just to be able to see this implemented! Great work!

  • Thats nice! that combo is ni 05-080grand prix gxp 06-07monte ss and 06-09 impala ss im going to pick up one if those combo. But my question is what axles did you use thanks.

  • @fling75

The axles are all GM made from disassembling several different axles and using what worked to get the right length. I just don't remember what axles I used, sorry.

  • I have an 06 GXP and an 86 Fiero GT, I couldn't imagine that swap. Thats whole lot of motor for such a small car.

  • It is fun. I do have to be careful with it. At a 5-10mph roll I can spin the wheels and get it sideways. Cars in the lane next to me would not like that to much.

  • I just did a ls4 5.3 swap in an 03 grand am thats was quicker than what it was in an impala Iwuld lov to see it in a fiero

  • I would like to swap a 6 speed manual LS2 in my 2002 Intrigue and convert it to rear wheel drive. Talk about a "sleeper" :D

  • tell me about the engine please, is it stock engine or have some work done? and about exhaust system

  • The engine is a stock CA smog legal LS4 (327) out of a 206 Monte Carlo SS. It is basically an LS1 with a GM V6 bell housing bolt pattern and mounted to the GM 4T65EHD to accommodate the transverse mounting for front wheel drive cars.

The exhaust system is custom made from 3" and 2.5" pipe and exhaust doughnuts. It has a Cat and Corvette C6 resonator tips.

  • im dying to know how much money is that all together

  • That is a hard question to answer.

IF I had to sell the car I would start the bidding at $25,000 as is.

I have 6 trophies with it, but I would keep them.

But MOST of that price is labor. I probably spent closer to $17,000 on it?

  • Get you camcorder out and a spare driver and let's see how good it does againt that gto. Lol

  • Man, I gotta say, it'd probably dominate the GTO. And this is coming from someone who LOVES GTOs.

  • nice gold monaro, made in australia :D what do you call it over there? pontiac gto?

  • Awesome! I love the LS4 in my 09 Impy, I can only imagine how much fun it must be in a Fiero!

  • how much did the motor cost ?

what are those tires and rims?

  • The wheels are ASA AR1

    Front is 215 45 17 with a 48mm off set

    Rear is 255 45 17 with a 35mm off set

The engine tranny and electronics cost about $2,000, before all the custom work

  • what are those tires and rims??

  • I have never just drove up the street and heard some one say "that sounds good"

It is a "bigger sound" than the twin cam V6 was.

  • Wow, that sure aint no 3.5 back there no more.
