@DisneyWatcherXD Have you taken into consideration that this video is several years old and that cameras have changed since then? Besides... what's your point? I have an old guitar. Does that mean it can't make awesome music?
I'll go out on a limb and say that I can do more with my cheap, little, old cameras than most people can do with the best equipment available.
It's not what you have... but how you use it!

I need help...I made my video on windows movie maker..and when I upload it to youtube..the whole video wont upload..just couple minutes of it...PLEASE HELP

@JohnKeotes I don't believe that this is a YouTube issue. It sounds like a browser control issue. You might check your browser options and change the option to open links in a new browser window.
So you are saying that to make these videos open in new windows I have to check on the browser options and not youtube but any computer I try it has always thee same resut.
I want to ask you do these videos open on different windows oin your computer, do you know how?
What is a litle bit weird about it is that in any other site exept youtube new pages and videos always open on new windows.
@JohnKeotes I use the Google Chrome browser and personally, I almost always right click on links and have them open in a new tab rather than browser window. My browser is set to open a link in the same window otherwise.
The camcorder is definitely preferred for video. The record time is longer and the options are better (optics, widescreen, etc.) plus the sound is superior (stereo). Click START> Run> type: "moviemk" (without the quotes) then click OK... Movie Maker will start if you have it installed. Not all digital still cameras record video with sound, especially an older model camera.
have been having trouble with Windows Movie Maker. Every time I use a song for a video, no matter what the song is, if I go elsewhere in the song, it'll start at another time. The only way the song will be in sync and at the right time is if I start from the very beginning. Otherwise it'll be messed up. This way the only way to sync videos properly with the music is to go back to the beginning again and again and wait for it to reach the point I need it to be.
It works just the same with still pictures. Import pictures and add words just as you would with videos. The timing on pictures can be changed by dragging the right edge of a frame in the timeline.
Thanks... It's only been a year and so much has changed regarding video cameras (flash or hard drive vs DV tape) and uploading that my tutorials are quickly becoming outdated. I'm gonna need to update them someday.
ok..i have the cord..its plugged in..and i have a still camera..but i have a laptop so i dont have the monitor thing so i dont have a slot to put my memory card..what do i do?
Yes, the still camera records sound. My Canon still camera takes the same quality (4:3) video as my camcorder (just not in stereo). Not all still cameras record video and audio, but I imagine that most newer cameras do. Check before you buy.
I use CamStudio which, like HyperCam, it records whatever is on the screen. After you record a screen session, save the clip as a file. Then use Windows Movie Maker to edit your video clips and add music tracks. See my Part 2 video for info on Movie Maker. You can contact me again by sending a message from my channel.
Do movies made with a still camera set to video mode look choppier on You Tube or in some way of lesser quality than if you use a real motion video cam ? Or does YouTube "level the playing field" due to compression ? BTW, thanks much for the Firewire tip, I didn't know that.
A lot depends on the camera and more importantly the memory card. The card needs to have a fast write speed. I replaced my Fuji FinePix camera with an XD card and replaced it with a Canon SD750 because the Fuji Made low quality video with choppy audio. The Canon's video is as good as my Canon miniDV camcorder except the audio is not in stereo.
Note: My Fuji was an okay camera, but measured in computer years, it's very old. Many technology improvements have been made in the past few years.
Are you talking about a video camcorder with a firewire connection? My camcorder has USB and firewire. The USB only transfers still pictures, the firewire connection had to be purchased separately and it's used to transfer video.
Try opening Windows Movie Maker in the capture mode, connect the camera, power it up and see if WMM finds it.
You could connect the camera to the computer with the USB cable and download using the Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard or the camera's software. Or you could get a USB card reader with an XD slot. Those XD cards aren't all that popular.
Lyric movies are just regular movies with lots of titles either as overlays or full page. If you use Windows Movie Maker, add music on to the audio track. Then add a series of title screens containing the lyrics. Timing can be adjusted for each panel by dragging the right edge.
Hopefully, your question was answered by my split screen video. Remember, it is NOT an actual split screen, it's only a transition. You'll need to use some clever camera work and planning to make it work.
Also - you can record 2 characters from different angles and splice the 2 together in editing to give the impression that they were filmed together.
Computers are used for much more than just making videos. Would you prefer that the engineers who design airplanes, bridges, elevators, etc... do so with pencil and paper?
This video you commented on has to do with making a video with a camera. You have 18 pages of vids, but I didn't see anything made from scratch, only walkthroughs and stuff from TV. You record scenes and upload okay, but that's not the whole process. Keep that in mind!
I had previous accounts where i uploaded camera fotage, so don't go that way that i never ever did go through a "how to upload videos frome a camera" .
Apparently, not everyone is as intuitive as you are when it comes to video, but that doesn't mean that they aren't worthy.
Remember this: Someday, there will be something that you will need have to explained to you. When that day comes, I hope that you don't have to deal with ridicule from those who already happen to posess that knowledge.
You're lucky that you 'instinctively knew how' to make videos, but you're out of line by mocking those who don't.
That's good for you and the technology keeps changing all the time, but many people who have camcorders do indeed need a firewire connection. And many camcorders do not come with the firewire cable. For video from a still camera, USB works fine.
Thanks, Denny, very helpful. We want to start posting videos for our sales team out in the field. BTW, I drive a red Smart every day, love your computer screen.
i still dont know how to do this on my camera if somebody knows how to help me please email me on here or leave it for a comment on my page please i am alittle confused wit the video because i am not like a computer genius please help me
If it's digital, the steps are the same. The camcorder that I used uses miniDV tapes. Remember that you need the firewire cable mentioned in the video to transfer video (not just USB)! Wire sold seperately.
If you use a regular analog camcorder (VHS) then you'll need an analog to digital converter. My camera (Canon Elura 100) has it built in. If you need an A to D converter, Pinnacle makes 'Dazzle' available at Best Buy.
I need help, I have windows vista and im on windows movie maker. I have my video that i am working on all done and saved it to my computer but it stated that i need to have it as a WMV file or something and i have no clue what to do about that, could you help?
I don't have Vista, but when you finish the project, you need to PUBLISH it. I believe that you can click File then Publish and follow the prompts. The end result will be a WMV file that you can upload.
Unless you meant to write 'you're scary' but mistakenly used the posessive 'your' in place of the more correct "you're" as a contraction for the words 'you' and 'are'.... thereby making the statement equate 'you are scary.' In which case I'll reply... "Thanks! I try my best."
I hope 'you're' going to have fun this winter on 'your' snowboard. I feel safer on skis.
Commercially produced DVDs are protected by copyright laws, so making copies on YouTube is totally illegal. I won't help you break the law. Besides, many have copy protection encryption on the disks, so you can't copy them.
As far as Playstation games go... I have no idea. I don't use those things. Try a gamer forum, they may have some ideas.
Using a camera will look like crap. Unless your camera has an analog-to-digital converter so you can input an analog signal from a DVD/VRC, convert to digital and record on the computer.
My Canon Elua 100 has this feature. Or you can get a 'Dazzle' (made by Pinnacle) converter at Best Buy that will do the same for about $60-80.
As I stated in my video, I use Pinnacle Studio Plus to create videos. Studio Plus has more features than Movie Maker and it allows picture-in-picture using 2 video tracks at once. Unfortunately, Movie Maker only has one video track, so you can't do picture-in-picture.
Movie Maker is a great starting point for learning to create professional looking videos. You are at the point where I was when I decided to upgrade to Pinnacle. I wanted more functionality.
Give me more to go on. Is it a video or a music file? If it's a music file, use Audacity (free download) and delete the offending section. If it's a video, use Movie Maker and separate the portion of the clip (shown in Pt. 2 of my video) then you can MUTE the section. Use the narration feature to replace a word or 'bleep' the silent section. You could also cut the section out altogether so there wouldn't be a dead spot.
Thank you for taking the time out to create a tutorial! I have a movie on dvd that I want to clip moving scenes from to create a fanvid. Is it possible to clip the scenes while playing it on Media Player? How do I do that? MP doesn't seem to have any instructions for this and I've searched - which might mean it can't be done.
I believe that copyright protection laws prevent Media Player from ripping scenes from commercial videos. I've never done it myself, but I believe that there are programs out there that allow you to copy DVDs.
Sorry I didn't answer sooner and that I couldn't be more helpful.
You don't need a camera, but you need to make a video out of something! At least one image will do, but more is better. Many digital still camera's have a video feature. You could also use screen caps, drawings or something recorded off a TV with a VCR, but no matter what you use... it'll have to be digital at some point so you can process it into a movie.
hi sir.. pls help me... i dont know how to upload videos on youtube from my windows movie maker.. i really don't know that's why i don't have one yet.. how can i do that i really want to add my own videos .. do i need 2 download other stuffs?? pls answer.. thankSs..thAnks....
Videos aren't actually uploaded from Movie Maker, MM is only used to create the video. In MM click FILE then SAVE MOVIE FILE and save your video (follow the instructions) as a movie (it should go in your My Videos folder). From there, login to YouTube and click UPLOAD and BROWSE to the video in the folder. Follow the YouTube steps.
You only need Movie Maker and YouTube... nothing else.
I was wondering if this would also work with a kodak easy share c875 digital camera? Because my mom has one and I made a video with it but never could download it. Just wondering if this would work with my camera though.
When your video is ready to go in Movie Maker, you need to click FILE, then the 'Save as movie' option, then follow the steps for saving in the 'best playback on a computer' setting. This will save the video in your 'My Videos' folder (usually) and in the converted WMV format.
I don't know what to tell you about the AVI being too slow other than you can double the speed with video effects in WMM.
Hey grandpa, i see you alot on yahoo answers.. you gave me a link to a site for converting videos online.. thanks man.. i didnt know you have a youtube as well!
Yeah, I enjoy dishing out answers whenever I can, but some of those questions drive me nuts. Why are people so helpless? I can't think of a video to make... I can't think of an account name... Whaaaa!
I must be getting old... I'm starting to give out super sarcastic answers to see if anyone catches on. Keep your eye on questions like: "Is this video funny?" Watch for my response.
My best guess. Sounds like it could be a codec or a format issue. Make sure that your codecs are up to date. Go to the Tools menu and choose Options. On the General tab, check 'download codecs automatically'.
If that isn't it... try converting the video into a different format that Movie Maker accepts.
Yes you can use a web cam, but your range is going to be limited to the length of the cord. Sorry I can't help you with the powerbook g4, I'm stuck in the world of Microsoft Windows.
If you don't have a firewire connection, you'll have to buy some hardware. You should be able to get a firewire card and install it (assuming that your computer supports such a thing. While you're in there, you might want to increase your RAM memory if you can too. Editing video is quite taxing on a system.
sorry if you answered this already but, so do i need to buy a dv cable for my camcord because when i plug it into the usb port it cant identify it....
Thanks... I guess some people just need to attract attention to themselves in whatever way they can. Apparently, shiftyzack can't do it any other way but by what he's done here. Poor thing!
I left ol'shity (oops! I mean ol'shifty) up there because I think it let's others see what he's made of.

What camera do you prefer using, the still camera one, or the actual video camera one?
NoelleNabob 1 year ago
The camcorder is definitely preferred for video. The record time is longer and the options are better (optics, widescreen, etc.) plus the sound is superior (stereo). However the video quality on the still camera is just as good in the 4:3 mode (640x480) and it comes in handy in a pinch. I'm considering jumping to a flash drive camcorder someday because the download time on the DV camcorder is in real time, which is a killer when I shoot 3½ hours of video.

I need help, I have windows vista and im on windows movie maker. I have my video that i am working on all done and saved it to my computer but it stated that i need to have it as a WMV file or something and i have no clue what to do about that, could you help?
elem3ntbam 3 years ago
I don't have Vista, but when you finish the project, you need to PUBLISH it. I believe that you can click File then Publish and follow the prompts. The end result will be a WMV file that you can upload.

your scary._.
snwbordluvr23 3 years ago
My what?
Unless you meant to write 'you're scary' but mistakenly used the posessive 'your' in place of the more correct "you're" as a contraction for the words 'you' and 'are'.... thereby making the statement equate 'you are scary.' In which case I'll reply... "Thanks! I try my best."
I hope 'you're' going to have fun this winter on 'your' snowboard. I feel safer on skis.

can I upload a movie on youtube from the dvds that I have? How do I make music videos of playsatation games? Kindly please tell
114252 3 years ago
Commercially produced DVDs are protected by copyright laws, so making copies on YouTube is totally illegal. I won't help you break the law. Besides, many have copy protection encryption on the disks, so you can't copy them.
As far as Playstation games go... I have no idea. I don't use those things. Try a gamer forum, they may have some ideas.
Denb7 3 years ago
So for example, If I wanted to upload a movie on youtube? Id have to use a camera and copy it from a TV or DVD recorder.
114252 3 years ago
Using a camera will look like crap. Unless your camera has an analog-to-digital converter so you can input an analog signal from a DVD/VRC, convert to digital and record on the computer.
My Canon Elua 100 has this feature. Or you can get a 'Dazzle' (made by Pinnacle) converter at Best Buy that will do the same for about $60-80.

please i have windows movie maker and i made a video on it.juste with pictures and a song how can i put it in youtube?
fcbarcelone3 3 years ago
i have the exact same computer!
havik82 3 years ago
How do you put picture over your video. I am unable to do that.
nesnaj21 3 years ago
As I stated in my video, I use Pinnacle Studio Plus to create videos. Studio Plus has more features than Movie Maker and it allows picture-in-picture using 2 video tracks at once. Unfortunately, Movie Maker only has one video track, so you can't do picture-in-picture.
Movie Maker is a great starting point for learning to create professional looking videos. You are at the point where I was when I decided to upgrade to Pinnacle. I wanted more functionality.
Denb7 3 years ago
I see. Where is Pinnacle Studio Plus available? Perhaps Best Buy or Circle City? And how much does the program exactly cost? I'd like to use it.

Hello sir, can you tell me how can you convert real live DVDs into youtube?
114252 3 years ago
how would you delete a piece of music that swears and i wanna censor it myself
demon1023 3 years ago
Give me more to go on. Is it a video or a music file? If it's a music file, use Audacity (free download) and delete the offending section. If it's a video, use Movie Maker and separate the portion of the clip (shown in Pt. 2 of my video) then you can MUTE the section. Use the narration feature to replace a word or 'bleep' the silent section. You could also cut the section out altogether so there wouldn't be a dead spot.
Denb7 3 years ago
its a music file,i tried to download Audacity, but the site wont show up on my laptop or pc,i really want to cut/take away that certain piece of audio

Kim7000000 3 years ago
I believe that copyright protection laws prevent Media Player from ripping scenes from commercial videos. I've never done it myself, but I believe that there are programs out there that allow you to copy DVDs.
Sorry I didn't answer sooner and that I couldn't be more helpful.

do you have to use a camera or can you also make a video and save it on your computer?
RiddleBoxFreekShow 3 years ago
You don't need a camera, but you need to make a video out of something! At least one image will do, but more is better. Many digital still camera's have a video feature. You could also use screen caps, drawings or something recorded off a TV with a VCR, but no matter what you use... it'll have to be digital at some point so you can process it into a movie.

hi sir.. pls help me... i dont know how to upload videos on youtube from my windows movie maker.. i really don't know that's why i don't have one yet.. how can i do that i really want to add my own videos .. do i need 2 download other stuffs?? pls answer.. thankSs..thAnks....
ghAiLegLam 3 years ago
Videos aren't actually uploaded from Movie Maker, MM is only used to create the video. In MM click FILE then SAVE MOVIE FILE and save your video (follow the instructions) as a movie (it should go in your My Videos folder). From there, login to YouTube and click UPLOAD and BROWSE to the video in the folder. Follow the YouTube steps.
You only need Movie Maker and YouTube... nothing else.
Good Luck!

I was wondering if this would also work with a kodak easy share c875 digital camera? Because my mom has one and I made a video with it but never could download it. Just wondering if this would work with my camera though.

i try uploading a avi file to youtube from windows movie maker how do i convert it to
wmv file gr8 vid
musicMixess 3 years ago
When your video is ready to go in Movie Maker, you need to click FILE, then the 'Save as movie' option, then follow the steps for saving in the 'best playback on a computer' setting. This will save the video in your 'My Videos' folder (usually) and in the converted WMV format.
I don't know what to tell you about the AVI being too slow other than you can double the speed with video effects in WMM.

Denb7 3 years ago
Hahaha! you're hilarious man!
I saw your answer on that gurl who was complaining about this guy on youtube who is against the idea of sub 4 sub..
And she actually wasted 5 points to ask a question like that!
what is this world coming to.
Hey imma add you as a contact on Answers and on here!

can i mix videos and when i go to windows movie maker when i save video to my comp. it says like 700 mins and keeps going up
jeffedwards0707 3 years ago
My best guess. Sounds like it could be a codec or a format issue. Make sure that your codecs are up to date. Go to the Tools menu and choose Options. On the General tab, check 'download codecs automatically'.
If that isn't it... try converting the video into a different format that Movie Maker accepts.
Good Luck!

I have a question. What if you don't have the firewire connection? Is it a hardware you have to buy or is it downloadable?
TheMJNews 3 years ago
If you don't have a firewire connection, you'll have to buy some hardware. You should be able to get a firewire card and install it (assuming that your computer supports such a thing. While you're in there, you might want to increase your RAM memory if you can too. Editing video is quite taxing on a system.
