It' s not about being smarter. I think it' s about gaining knowledge, which are two completely different things. Being smart is something that you learn in real life. School just gives you knowledge in my opinion.

A lot of money can be made modelling and if you are 'smart' enough and business savy you can be very successful doing so and, as with any job, people may model merely because they enjoy it and wouldn't be happy in a more conventional job, as well as enjoying the creativity that goes into the designs they wear and the work of the designers that do indeed usually have to go to ART college to learn the skills of their trade and be successful in their chosen field.

It is all superifical, no brains needed. I think modelling clothes is ridiculous anyway. Anorexic women get paid millions to walk down a runaway while you could use a dummy or just go to a store and put them on. Never understood why models are needed. The fashion industry could save much money on them.

@alanangeles91 learning languages other than your native tongue can be very challenging and takes a fair amount of brain power and effort so you do have to have a certain amount of 'smarts' to learn other languages, especially as many as they are likely to need working in so many different countries.

@Sadmik I wouldn't say that. A lot of money can be made modelling and if you are 'smart' enough and business savy you can be very successful doing so and, as with any job, people may model merely because they enjoy it and wouldn't be happy in a more conventional job, as well as enjoying the creativity that goes into the designs they wear and the work of the designers that do indeed usually have to go to ART college to learn the skills of their trade and be successful in their chosen field.

What is hard about dressing up, being made-up and then posing? What is USEFUL about modelling? does it make people healthy like doctors or does it make them sick via adulation of the skinny?

This is stupid. Sure models might not be kept up with the latest news and random facts of no relveance but they know things. They know about lighting and angles. They know about what THEY do; why should they be called stupid if they dont know something that they dont need to know? People who say models are dumb and that their job is easy are usually "smart" people who assume just becuase your beautiful it means your dumb.
