In todays life all drummers seek speed and in my opinion is not bad but where is the creativity. Matt Greiner of August Burns Red, Thrill Seeker album is a good example of a creative metal drummer, you should check him out

I think he should be more creative. I've heard a couple of his pieces and they are all very similar. Aweseom the dirst couple of times you hear them, but then redundant after a while. I myself am a guitarist, but as a guitarist in a band, if I was in a band with him I'd be angry. I would want him to mix it up a bit, but then again maybe it's the band he;s in that has instilled this kind of drumming in him.
Let's see, he can do single stroke rolls well with his hands and feet. Good. And he can...um...er...well, I guess that's it. But he can play those fast. Then again, it seems that's also all he can do. Because when he tries to play a slow beat, his feet keep cranking away a mile a minute in a completely annoying contradiction! Where's the chops and feel? I guess he out-ran them in his fast-lane mania! Can't drive 55!

I think he should be more creative. I've heard a couple of his pieces and they are all very similar. Aweseom the dirst couple of times you hear them, but then redundant after a while. I myself am a guitarist, but as a guitarist in a band, if I was in a band with him I'd be angry. I would want him to mix it up a bit, but then again maybe it's the band he;s in that has instilled this kind of drumming in him.

Let's see, he can do single stroke rolls well with his hands and feet. Good. And he can...um...er...well, I guess that's it. But he can play those fast. Then again, it seems that's also all he can do. Because when he tries to play a slow beat, his feet keep cranking away a mile a minute in a completely annoying contradiction! Where's the chops and feel? I guess he out-ran them in his fast-lane mania! Can't drive 55!
