Hey Cornster, sorry I've only just seen your reply to my msg. Thanks, I am totally hooked on it and practising a lot, every day when possible, and I think it's going well so far. Thanks for the motivation, I kinda feel at times that it's seen as a 'guys thing' but to me music is universal and for everyone!
@MsAngel1508 just go for it, dont get bogged down in whether its a guy thing, cos your right, it isn't!! if you can play you can play, thats all there is to it. an instrument isn't baised towards who is playing it, so we should not be baised to what we play, practice, get up to speed, get your confidence up, and when your ready, post summat up and show the boys how its done!!! catch you another time.
Thanks for your reply Cornster - just started learning myself and had 5 lessons but going well.
No kit yet but hoping to get a Yamaha e-kit in the next few weeks. Hopefully once I've progressed I'll be brave enough to upload a couple of vids, even to get some feedback and to see my own progression.
Get some strange looks from people being a female and learning to play the drums but doesn't bother me, I quite enjoy seeing the look on peoples faces! Lol.
@MsAngel1508 you go girl!! practice alot, and you'll be amazed at the progress you'll make, and trust me, there are alot of great female drummers, who are respected in the professional music industry.
@MsAngel1508 on and off for quite a while, but i was without a kit for nearly 12yrs, i only got back into it about 3yrs ago. this one was an early one, i'm happy to say i can now play it quite a bit better these days. i also have better cymbals, and the kit is now in tune which also helps lol!!
Cool cover fella, I'm a trucking drummer also and have just started learning this tune for my band, I'm blagging it at the moment as I haven't been playing very long, but this will be a big help. I listen to songs I'm learning at work and while I'm behind the wheel I can play along in my head, but once behind my kit nothing seems to make sense lol..... But watching videos like yours are a big help, keep on keepin' on buddy!!!!
hey man, we have an awful lot in common by the seem of things. i play my steering wheel with my fingers, and hit where my drums would be in front of me. it aint perfect, but it does help co-ordination. if i can give you one tip the best thing to work on is independence! the art of getting all your limbs doing different things without interfering with your rythmn. its hard but worthwhile. stay cool man, and keep on trucking!!
Cheers man, I'll try that. I like your relaxed style too, I tend to get too tense and play too hard. It's mainly down to having to use practice pads so the neighbours don't complain lol. Cheers for the advice anyway. Rock 'n roll saves lives.......
well thanks my friend, but if anyone asks about this cover, i gotta be honest, i always point them too your version, cos to be fair it is spot on, but thanks for the good comment, i appreciate it!
Solid cover, you should really get some new cymbals. Are those Orions brass? They sound like it. Check out paiste PST5 or Alpha range. A mix between beginner and professional, they sound incredible are extremely cheap. Although if you have the cash get some Paiste Signatures, best cymbals ever made.
thank you man, glad i could help, and i appreciate your comment on the cover. mine is not bad, but its not correct as per the song, if you want to see it done properly watch the cover by "rebeat2u" it is very very good. stay cool my friend and thanks for the sub as well!!
You don't read music!!! You must be good at playing by ear because I've been playing for a year and it took me 6 months to learn how to play that perfectly. But your version is as good as mines.
well thankyou very much, but you praise me too highly! it is all by ear, but its also full of little mistakes and a fair bit of improvisation, but it goes with the backing track so i spose thats close enough. i'm sure your version is awesome, and much closer to the original than mine!! cheers dude, stay cool.
it is a great song and thankyou for the good comments, glad you enjoyed it, check out my channel if you loke this kind of stuff, plenty more on there.
thankyou very much, and it is way better than the first. saying that its still got a few mistakes and needs tweaking here and there, but cheers for the kind comment!
thanks man, appreciate the good comment, very glad that you like it, if you haven't already watch rebeat2u version, it is spot on, a really good cover, stay cool bro!
man, that is the kindest comment, and a real compliment, thankyou very much, as it happens i am actively looking for another band, as for one reason or another, my old band is no more, but your right, unfortunately Lancashire is a bit far away from Worcestershire, but thanks anyway. if you havent already, checkout my channel, lots more good stuff on there, stay cool man!
hey man how ya doin. thanks for watching my cover and giving me some good constructive feedback, i appreciate it. if you read the response i made to LifeLineBand i hope that explains why my covers aren't exact, but i will listen to the track again and see if i can improve on the points you make, when i have got it sorted, i'll reshoot the video, and post it again. ckeckout my channel if you like and give me your thoughts on some of my other covers, stay cool bro!
the kit originally cost £650, (US$1000) now with the cymbals, Remo heads, and a few other bits and bobs roughly £1000, (US$1500) not at all expensive given what you can spend on drum kits, and the quality you get with a PDP kit. (basically a cheaper range of DrumWorks) is very good!
thanks alot man, i'm really happy that you enjoyed it, its comments like these that make it worth the time and effort to learn the songs and shoot the video. go to my channel and check out some more covers, let me know what you think and rate them as well. take it easy dude, hopefully catch you again soon!
hi, how ya doin. sorry for the late reply, but i'm a truck driver which sometimes means being away for a few days. to answer the question, its all by ear, i don't read music, and don't use tabs. if i,m not sure of any parts of the track, i will watch some youtube vids and try to pick it up, so basically its all improvisation. of course i try to stay true to the original, but none of my covers are exact, and never will be, but i hope you enjoy them, thanks for watching. stay cool.
cheers man, thanks alot. the Orion Viziuss cymbals are good, made in Brazil, and do have a real good sound, but are not overly expensive. my camera doesn't actually do them true justice, but glad you enjoyed the cover, check out my channel and see if there is anything else you like and then leave your comments and rate them. thanks again man, stay cool.
