I agree parents need to embrace babies that have a strike against. I know a man who was born w/out 1 leg, 1/2 an arm & his only hand just had nubs as fingers. His mom took one look at him & left his life completely. Fortunately his dad remarried a remarkable woman who loved this baby like her own. This love allowed this baby to become a confident,independant and successful man despite his mom thinking him worthless,but the pain of rejection still stung into adulthood. Babies need love.
