I just saw him on a panel with others in World War 11 and he impressed me. What a pleasure to learn about him. I am indeed Grateful! God Bless Him, the others on the panel, my deceased husband who fought in the army in Viet Nam, and all others who fought for our country. "God Bless America."
In the military you are trained to view those you are fighting against as the enemy. You can't view them as human beings just like you because you'll hesitate to kill them, which could cost you your life.
It has always been an honor to live in the same city as Mr. Ehlers, most MOH recipients are so down to earth and just the most humble men you ever want to meet.
I have several videos about the MOH, and Mr Ehlers is interviewed in them. You are blessed to be able to meet this man. I have met a Pearl Harbor survivor and 2 survivors of D-Day, and several WWII, Korea and Vietnam POW's. These are special people. One of my cherished possesions is an autographed copy of MOH recipient Gary G. Wetzel's citation.

AAWXXD obviously has no experience with the military, nor understands what the invasion at Normandy was about.
It boggles the mind the sacrifice that him and others have made so that AAWWXXD can type pithy comments like that.
I suggest you go to the Pritzker Library archives and see the whole interview. Ehlers is an amazing man.
