  • Las técnicas realizadas en el goshin jutsu, tienen directa relación con el karate do y el aikido. Se puede apreciar "ura ken" "mae gueri" etc. Como asi también "kotegaeshi" tan usado en los practicantes del Aikido.

  • this kata needs to be updated for 2010 with old forms + new form attacks and defends from 5 crackheads who are trying to steal your money :-)

  • I like this kata but not the way it is performed here.

  • i am scared of guns : (

  • Nice demo, I've seen it demonstrated many times and there is always small variations in presentation. Decorum though, is always very much respected as being the same, and that is seriously lacking with the modern students (i.e. actors and actresses).

  • this was a good demo. however, as great judokas as they are, kicking techniques of uke were ( as done in karate ) and poorly executed. also with tori when hitting the uke. hip movement (and therefore power) was very restricted. when a judoka gets a grap, then opponent can say 'sayonara', throws were solid like these senseis.

anyhow in street fight i would not recomm u to test yr skills through these exercises, the uke's first atttack is so simple that nobody wold act like that in real combat.

  • though judo is not perfect, statistically speaking judo has saved the most lives on the street than other martial arts.

  • @MoviPro I'm really curious about this statistic...can you cite your source?

  • @MoviPro Thats because its the most universal martial mart, you could aswell say that football/soccer has saved most lives because many people that survive have played football at least once.

  • The man who enhanced this Kata, Kenji Tomiki, was an Aikido practitioner. He credits Aikido for the development of this kata. That's not a dirty copy, it's called influence.

If that was not the case, then Aikido is just a dirty copy of Judo. And Daito Ryu is just a dirty copy of Sumo.

Learn you shit before you bash on another style jackass.

  • I have. Didn't really stay with it for long (5 months) before going back to the US. Learned some good moves like Kamakubi, Guinomi Kuden, Hitoe, Maki Hiji, Nikkajo and Ude Gatami.

Alot of the Aikido gyms in New York are crappy McDojos and it's not easy to find an affordable Yoshinkan Aikido dojo anywhere. I already pay $340 for Judo/BJJ and Muay Thai.

Anything else you want to bring up?

  • Shotokan inspired Kyokushin, Judo inspired Aikido, Aikido inspired Goshin Jutsu Kata.

There is no mix? What a joke. So then Aikido and Daito Ryu didn't come from Sumo, Ancient Jujutsu, Kenjutus and so on. It just happened to be there right?

This kata is poor? What were you expecting? it's a step by step demonstration to help out Judoka in preperation.

Judo is a sport? US Military, Russian military (Some of Sambo was inspired by Judo), Iranian Military and other militaries disagree with you.

  • おかしい あなたがどのように私にあなたが1ポイントを証明しようとしてこちらで輪唱し続けるものの時私の生命の生活をするように話しているか。

  • Sry, I cannot speak Japaneese

  • Don't worry it was not directed towards you or anyone else who watches me channel

  • Didn't the development of Goshin Jutsu Kata was inspired by Takeda Sokaku's Daitoryu? THe maker practiced under him like many other makers of different bujutsu, or so I read.

  • Judoinfo states this was inspired by Kenji Tomiki. But he was known to train under various styles other than Judo. So Daito Ryu could've been thrown into the mix.

  • Judo is based from Goshinyo te scroll of Daito ryu =)

Judo is the sport version of Daito ryu or Aikido....Sumo is the old sport version.

in the end...there all the same thing...Jujutsu.

  • @Shinkatana420

WRONG!!!!! If you knew anything about Judo you would retract this statement. Judo was given to us by the great Professor Jigoro Kano, it is not based off the Goshinyo Te, nor is Judo the sport version of Daito-Ryu. Judo under the watchful eye of Professor Kano, who was originally trained in the art of what was then known as Jiujitsu (Not Jujutsu). Developed this style to deliver the maximum efficient way to rid yourself of an opponent. Sumo has no known connection to Daito-Ryu.

  • @DragonOne1 I could always delete that comment for you. If you want?

  • @Shinkatana420 . I also know the Dojo of the last living child of the original Morihei Ueshiba family line in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The Aikikai, you might know this place. His name is Moriteru Ueshiba. I could give you his mobile phone number if you want. He is a good friend of mine. I think he would be glad to give you a history lesson. He found this quite funny when I translated it into Japanese for him. What a riot. "Things uneducated say give the wise ones laughs for a 1000 lifetimes." Served

  • @DragonOne1 I'm so jealous. I haven't done any good Aikido in so long. So many Aikido places in New York are either non-legit or the instructors are a joke. If you know any good Aikido places, I'm welcome for any info.

  • @GuardianShisa if you are looking to have the best experience of your life. Please come to Japan. Before I left Tokyo to go to live in Fukuoka; and now to my current area of Okayama. I have managed to keep contacts in the martial arts community. Even being a black guy here does not change anything when it comes to respecting a fellow martial artist. Please send me a message and will give you the information you are seeking. I can also introduce you to the dojo upon your arrival here in Japan.

  • If you want a good experience in New York, judging but what I found out from Ueshiba-sensei. There is an HQ of the Aikikai in New York. You can check them out here.

    142 West 18th Street, 2nd Floor

    New York NY 10011

    Tel: 1.212.242.6246

    Fax: 1.212.242.9749

Drop them a line they will be able to help you as well if you want a real authentic Aikido experience in NY.
