Transparent rubbish. Comments like "gruesome fascination" toward little kids would get any public figure fired unless it's what the network wants, and it is. Controversy = ratings. It's cheap and shameful. You can also tell that the kids were told what to expect and that Red doesn't really mean it. The girl was outright amused. Hardly the reaction of a child who was just called gruesome after performing.

The acts are good. The program is stupid. I don't watch for the judging, I tolerate it.

Red's job is to portray the mean judge. It's so transparent. I'm a big fan of AGT and BGT. The judging is fairly genuine on those shows. Red is a made-up character just as he would be on a sitcom. It's a real turn off, especially when he's told to play his schtick on good talent like these kids. The producers should at least save the phony mean Red stuff for the truely bad acts that ths program rarely allows to be shown.

At least the stage acts are real... I think.

Red's act is fake. Notice when he is getting back to his seat his voice is perfectly miked even though he is no where near the table mic. He's wearing a hidden wireless lavalier mic. In other words, getting out of his seat was planned. The producers of this show suck. Very phony.

David and Macy, on the other hand, were quite good and didn't deserve to be played that way.

Sportywill5 - I'm not being stupid. Major TV productions don't double mic "just in case". they use the highest quality equipment available. They don't anticipate failure. Besides, If you can't see that Red's shtick isn't contrived, you are blind. You have obviously never worked in the industry.

I DO enjoy the show. I just don't enjoy Red's contrived shtick. It makes the judging appear phony, and it is not fair to performers like these kids, who really did a terrific job.
