It's a brainwave synchronization sound: binaural beats. Designed to synchronize your brainwaves with the binaural beat frequency of the sound, namely alpha, beta, delta, and theta waves.
Oh, by the way, they used FRACTINT for their rendering program, according to the website. Yes, you read that right: FRACTINT. It said it took them almost a year of rendering on 3 computers.
i'm inclined to agree with cms271828, i'd be extremely surprised to see that done on a standard laptop. actually, i'm wondering if that's even a true fractal and not just a bunch of shit
If every one thought like you, we'd still be apes, in trees, smoking good dope... Evolution would have passed us by and (perhaps) insects instead would now be ruling the world with their economies and fashion trends... Six legged trousers on sale at FlyMart!?!?
fractal geometry is not just a substitute for psychedelics and weed, its quite facinating really. I encourage you to seek out the dvd colours of infinity, a great PBS documentry about it.
just some friendly advice mike, but people don't like to be told what their doing is bad for them because they know the risks going in. Plus if you wish to abstain, which when it comes to drinking and weed limits you socially, how do you expect people to respect your choice when you don't respect theirs?
Weed is the kitty cat of illegal substances, you should watch out for the lions instead.
"just some friendly advice mike, but people don't like to be told what their doing is bad for them because they know the risks going in."
The point is *I'm* still never going to do it as I know those risks. *You* can do whatever you want but you have to accept the consequences of it. I'm just saying what *I* will not do.
"Plus if you wish to abstain, which when it comes to drinking and weed limits you socially, "
It's good to have limits. -cont'd in next comment-
"how do you expect people to respect your choice when you don't respect theirs?"
Because I was talking about my own choice more. You were talking about using weed I was saying no to it, that I'm not going to use weed. And I think that's a good thing for me to do. I do not have to _agree_ with your choice though.
People just don't care about your own personal choices, that's why its personal. Its like walking up to a smoker on the street and start talking about the reasons you chose not to smoke. Its rude and condesending, you'll get smoke blown in your face.
From my experience the kids who can't wait to tell you weed is bad don't end up just alienating the stoners, but people in general for being preachy and judgemental.
but i doubt you'll listen to me, I guess experience will have to.
but i doubt you'll listen to me, I guess experience will have to.
"
I did "listen", I read your posts.
"People just don't care about your own personal choices, that's why its personal."
Then how come *not* using "weed", etc. "limits you socially"? (To me, that is not as important as health, which equals no weed and especially no alcohol for me. It's definitely not worth getting liver failure (from alcohol) over.) If nobody gives a hoot it should have no effect.
"Its like walking up to a smoker on the street and start talking about the reasons you chose not to smoke."
The problem is though, you _seemed_ to be _recommending_ the weed with your post, "advertising" it if you will. To me it sounded like you were coming out and "advertising" how "great" the weed was. Maybe I was mistaken. So to me, I wasn't just "walking up" and firing off.
"From my experience the kids who can't wait to tell you weed is bad don't end up just alienating the stoners, but people in general for being preachy and judgemental."
Even those who strongly _dis_approve of the use of weed? I'd suppose, though, it may still be possible. But of course that's more or less moot since the way I saw it I was not "preaching" out there, but _responding_ to what I saw as a "preach". Maybe it wasn't. Maybe I was just reading too much into it. I can admit my error.
Hmmm, I don't see how you can do that without using arbitrarily large numbers.
In java terms, these are objects, and so generating just 1 image can take a while, so I would really like to know how you got this zoom so deep, and I can see the iteration level is high because the black blobs deep in are well defined.
How did you do this without spending days generating images???
Thats impossible, unless your d420 is a supercomputer.
I don't think you understand the programming/mathematics involved.
I don't know how manyframes there are in this video, perhaps a couple of thousand or more, but the frames towards the end need very high pixel accuracy, maybe 100 digits.
Then you have iterate each of the thousands of points on the screen through many many iterations, but just 1 operation between 2 high-precision decimals is costly for the cpu.
Im fully aquainted with the maths/programming thanks.
Ive posted my video of a mandelbrot fractal zoom, which is deeper than this one(mine is 316 zooms 2^316). 2 1/2 hours rendering on a dell d420, using fractal extreme.
Just do a youtube search for my name and youll find it.
Thats a great video, I think there must be some special way of iterating the points without doing the full calculation, perhaps using congruences.
I'm not sure, but with my own fractal program I built with java, I converted it to 'infinite zoom' using BigDecimal objects which have an arbitrary amount of digits, and it took forever to do one deep image, so I scrapped the idea, and just kept the normal zoom using 'doubles'.
I think the program works by only calculating each 'zoom'level (each level is half the width of the previous ones),
so a 316 zoom level, recorded at 15 frames per zoom , is 4740 frames. but only 316 are calculated. It uses clever scaling techniques to estimate the 'in between' frames.
fuck I'm high....and I haven't even taken any drugs.

I know, the deepzoom stuff in Fractint is painfully slow...
But hey! If that's what they want to use, well...

The price though is the long term effects, which can be devastating. Using a computer is much, much safer.

I think the program may have been 'fractal extreme'
I have this and you can generate these type of deeep zooms in about 15 mins! I just use a standard dell d420 dual core laptop.

You'd be surprised at the power of today's PCs. With a well-optimized program you _can_ do that on them.
