  • The IRS isn't complex -- the tax laws are. The IRS just tries to enforce them. Try to grasp that.

We can have a simple fair tax code -- we need one.. But since the Fairtax is a magic pony that shits gold -- in other words, bullshit -- thats not it.

Fairtax is based on the bullshit farce of pretending to tax the federal government a huge sales tax.

Its bullshit. ANd they know it.

Its bullshit for a lot of reasons -- thats just one. But the point is, they KNOW its bullshit and lie to you.

  • What's googolplex? Yeah, I believe a wanna-be economist living in a trailer over real economists, accountants and university professors from MIT, Harvard, Stanford and Boston University. Uh huh...

The only thing that's FAIL is you.

  • Well, Mr Wannabe, this could go on forever. I'm still wondering what your agenda is? If the Fair Tax is so bad, why to you continue to bait people into your so called "debate"? You have your mind made up too, my friend! If I put the numbers in front of you, you'd still try to rationalize your agenda. Why don't you do what the Fair Tax people do? Form a support group of Fair Tax haters, meet once a month and jack each other off.

  • Again, Mr. Wanna-be economist. I won't give you numbers. Why? I'm not an economist. I don't claim to be. I won't try to be something I'm not, as you do. My wife is a corporate officer and CPA, her brother is a tax attorney. I trust them, yes, amen!

So why? Why are you so afraid of the Fair Tax? It's Fail... you said so. What are you worried about?

Is the ground swell, grass roots FairTax movement got you worried? Do something constructive. Form a Fair Tax hater club. Write your congressman.

  • I wrote my congressman, and he persoanlly wrote back (I went to high school with him) that he no longer supports the "Fair" Tax aka National Sales Tax-inclusive aka "NaSTi"... even though he is listed as a supporter at the AFT site. This is very telling on how accurate/up-to-date their site is.

  • If you don't support Fair Tax, you probably don't understand it properly. It was created by lead economists from Harvard and Stanford and other think-tanks in America. Go to fairtax(DOT)org to learn what the Fair Tax is all about.

  • What's even funnier are the people who claim the following

    1) "You can take home your whole paycheck!"

    and yet, they claim

2)"Retail prices will drop 23% because the embedded taxes will be gone"

Here's a hint-- if you take home your whole paycheck, those embedded TAXES may be "gone" but the embedded COST is still there for the company. So removing FIT doesn't do much to lower the cost of goods if the employer still has to outlay the same $ as they would with FIT.

  • emoving FIT, coprorate tax, inheritance tax, and SStaxes costs will not reduce RETAIL prices by anywhere near 23%, especially on goods manufactured in China.

With a "Fair" tax, prices would go up significantly.

Ask someone who has owned a retail store to explain this to you if you don't see why this is true.

  • Well, you are correct with Chinese made goods going up in prices. No tax system is prefect. Still, IRS is too complex is deadweight on the economy. Still, domestic made goods would drop in price too offset some of those losses. The income tax is progressive to a point. SS, Medicare are regressive taxes. The fair-tax means 3 million points of collections instead of trying to track down 150 million people. Evasion is harder with a fair tax.

  • factcheckdotorg

    and

    fairtaxfrauddotcom

expose the falsehoods of the "Fair" tax plan and the Boortz book the fans follow without question.

  • The Fair Tax is "Alice in Wonderland" thinking. It would be an enforcement disaster. Once sales taxes get above the 12-15% range black markets kick in along with smuggling, piracy, a barter economy, and more organized crime. The current IRS gestapo would have to be much larger for a sales tax.

Lets not forget the internet is connecting economies throughout the world and now you want to lay a tax on all these internet transactions.

  • I disagree... there would be far less people evading tax under FairTax as there would now. Businesses would be more likely to be audited because there would be far less of them subject to random audits compared to the amount of people filing income tax returns now.

As for internet sales, the more items we can tax, the less the overall sales tax has to be. If we cut our spending down, we could get the tax rate to about 10%. Few people will risk breaking law for only a 10% break.

  • The "Fair Tax" idea is a scam created by the Church of Scientology because they were at war with the IRS for not granting their cult tax exempt status. Google up the facts if you want to read more. OpinionJournal has a recent article that exposes the whole thing.

You idiots are falling for a scam made up by a cult that was founded by a hack science fiction writer!!

  • we need fair tax. Then tax will be fair.
