  • I support Navy, Marines and everything, but I can't be the only one who thinks "Hoo-yah" kinda makes you sound like a tool

  • i bet with your shaved head you are feal fast lol haha jk

  • lol u are like a dolphin???? lol

  • if you are thinking about trying out.... it is about heart.

  • This exact video and the help of a retired SEAL is what helped me lose my gut and love handles. Started at age 52 and now that I am 53 I use out Olympic Sized Pool at the Center where I live. I do 40 laps alternating on each side. I count one trip going and the return as one lap for a total of 80 trips or 40 laps in 55 minutes. On some days I only do one handed. Thanks for uploading this justdfactsmaam!!!!! Truly grateful!!!!

  • What DVD is this from?

  • I recommend for anyone pressing to go to buds to focus more on the swimming than anything, unless you're a hardcore swimmer, and by that I mean 8+ hours a week in the pool, 12+ miles a week, I'm hitting ten hours a week and 15-16 miles. I need to work on running, and flexibility more than anything, I get chin splints worse than anything when I run. any tips anyone? I would really appreciate it.

  • @FadeToBlack1911 Go to sealswcc(dot)com and look around there and it tells you what to do for them.

  • @FadeToBlack1911 shin splints are commonly from bad running technique. when you run, where does the foot land first? if you land heel first, that's your problem

  • @looopandlooop just out of curiosity where is it supposed to land, i think its the balls of the feet, right?

  • @FadeToBlack1911 yes, specifically the midfoot. if you land on your balls of the feet a little too much that can lead to shin splints too. your heel should slightly kiss the ground after landing on midfoot. that should lower the impact on your joints and leg and make you run longer without shin splints. take it slow!

  • @FadeToBlack1911 i used to run cross country (70 mile weeks) and have ran a 4:47 mile. im not bragging just listing my qualifications so you know I'm credible. It has nothing to do with technique. Just time. Most people get shin splints especially when they up the intensity or mileage. Just keep at it and they will go away with time. There is nothing else you can do.

  • @FadeToBlack1911 You can try using a massage stick or pizza roller to massage your shins before you begin running. It will encourage blood flow to the area and allow your shins to warm up without placing them under stress. That treats the symptoms. However, the primary causes of shin splints are ill-fitting running shoes and heel-striking while you run. Trying increasing your running cadence (to 180 strikes/min) and keeping your feet underneath you while you run to avoid heavy heel drops.

  • @3falconman not to mention the speed it has with fins, low profile it keeps in the water, and that it allows you to swim farther than you could freestyle but use less energy.

  • unsa daw ni?

  • What is the point of learning this technique, when we already have freestyle and breaststroke? Is this more effective in some way?

  • @stillapekatt yes. its much better if you have to carry a load or a wounded teammate. it is also much better for long distance. there are many reasons that it's the main stroke used by the SEALs, those are just the best ones I can think of now.

  • @Crazyblessed85 SEAL is short for SEa Air Land, the three environments in which SEALs work. There's the possibility you were kidding, but if you really wanted to know, that's why.

  • Why r they called navy seals. thet dont even look like circus seals, unless them

wet suit count as a seal like appearnce. all i know is i hate to be tracked dowm by them.

  • When I took the pst for AIRR I got 7:30 on my 500 yd swim using the freestyle stroke... When I tried going for ND using the CSS I got a 10:30. So don't think if you're a good swimmer you'll do good using this stroke never have practiced it.... It's all about technique!!!

  • I tried that so often, don't get the technique right :-/

  • It is right arm, left arm, scissor kick, both arms, right?

  • @SoylentHolger

yes, just practice it and you'll master it fairly quickly

  • @MrZeke1902 I do. It is some unfamiliar swimming feeling, but i get more familiar with every day.

  • @SoylentHolger hey i know how u feel its very frustrating it im just starting to practice the technique but u just got keep studying the form and practicen and ull get it

  • Why is it that the guys shown side stroking at the end of the video, arn't doing it exactly like the instructor? Seems like everyone's CSS is a little different.

  • ahah! thats what i was doing wrong, i would scissor kick an stroke at the same time, its scisscor kick glide then stroke....indeed well played i see the errors of my ways

  • @VagineND you can only continuously flutter kick when you are doing the stroke with fins on.

  • The big diffrence between special forces of the Army and Navy is the Seal's ability to blow you up in the water, kill you in the water from a submarine, Come from a rubber boat in a fng hurricane and drown you in a cup of water. I was a Marine. I watched our Force Recon train with them. Force Recon are right their with them. The SEALS may have the edge, but Force wont submit ask some of them. You are only as good as you train. Train like you fight and always challenge yourself and your subordin

  • I spend atleast 30 min at the pool but now with this will definally improve my 1 hour skill. USMC

  • this may be a dumb question but can you continuously flutter kick during side-stroke? or will that DQ you?

  • The point of the stroke is not the speed, but the stealth. Competitive strokes like backstroke, freestyle, and butterfly are faster but less efficient and covert.

  • @kaeranz not covert but much more efficient

  • The Navy actually teaches this? Can anyone explain the reasoning? The sidestroke went the way of the dodo in most other types of swimming years ago.

  • @LocalManification SWCC and SEALs do this stroke because its more "stealthy" in the water and cause less noise and splash

  • @believethehyp3 Ah, that makes perfect sense! Thanks for the info.

  • @justdfactsmaam whats the best way to join the navy SEALs with as many shots at BUD/S as possible, and a good rate if I DOR or fail? im not concerned with the pay rate so i was wondering would it be best to join the navy, get a good job there and then volunteer for the SEAL PST or is it only possible to volunteer during boot camp?

  • what is the main goal of combat swimming?

  • @bin1127 Smaller silhouette and endurace (long distance swimming), I suppose.

  • @bin1127 try it it takes little effort i can litteraly swim for hours with the combat side stroke

  • i freakin HATE how he makes it look sooo damn easy!!! i went for a swim for PT this morning and tried this....didnt work out so well lol.

  • Thanks for the vid

  • how many laps is 400yds, sounds like you could ran out energy

  • @Crazyblessed85 theres 365 meters in 400 yards. So roughly 15 times back and forth (:

  • @Crazyblessed85 It really depends on the length of the pool. The pool that i swim at is 25 yards across, which means 400 yards in it would be 16 laps.

  • @yeewaishun2000 Navy SEALs are taught to swim like this because it isnt so damn loud when you're trying to do a mission that requires stealth and concealment.

  • what's the point to swim like that?

  • It's funny people are expecting this stroke to be used for speed. It's about efficiency and a low water profile. Recon bitches.

  • 34 dislikes for the guys who couldnt get this shit downpack forf buds

  • Thanks for this upload! Very helpful.

  • i understand this technique is for efficiency, being able to cross a given distance in the fewest possible strokes (25m in 3-5 strokes from military . com) but what about when you just need to put distance between yourself and something else? do they teach a seperate swimming technique designed for speed, not efficiency?

  • @KottonmouthSoldiers I think the fastest swimming stroke is the front crawl, but don't quote me. :s

  • Just a heads up on anyone who wants to go to BUD/s, learn this stroke until you die and master it. Because if you're caught using a regular sidestroke, the instructors will have you run around an entire day, wet and sandy with a wetsuit on. By the time you take it off you will be bleeding.

  • @sluby13 You can't. I got this on the DL from my Navy recruiter! ;)

  • Just wondering if this is an army's secrect stuff, why they relase to public ?

  • @redcode82 Okay first, it's NAVY not Army. (It says so in the title.) And, it's a SWIM stroke. Not a "swim assassinate your enemy" stroke. Common knowledge my friend just not real applicable except for tactical purposes.

  • Is this technique reducing a noise in the water, which is good for navy combat. Anyone knows ?

  • @redcode82 It keeps a low profile and there's no splashing, it's also designed to be a very efficient way to swim

  • @LoftyDog Thanks. That's very unique.

  • @redcode82 It keeps you low pro on the water line, minimizes splashing, you can swim with gear on and reduces exhaustion. My swim time went from 12 to 9 minutes in the 500m.

  • anyone know the website for more of these videos?

  • @xXskate4evaXx How is this has to do with gay? MichaelRJKidd's comment may sound arrogant, perhaps a little self indulging, but that is it. Your comment shows everyone you are a narrow-minded ignorant hater. You need to be properly educated.

  • I am gonna learn how to swim and want to master this swimming technique. I want to join seals after college.

  • @xTheBulletSaintx Gotta join the Navy first. Also, if you're going to college to go through OCS to be an Officer you only get ONE shot at BUDS. If you have no idea what I'm talking about you need to do your homework first before talking about becoming a SEAL my friend.

  • @justdfactsmaam

That and Officer's have a harder chance of getting into BUD/s than enlisted. Only 1 in every 8 officers will get to BUD/s.

  • Comment removed

  • Well I myself am training for BUD/s. But to everyone else out there who is trolling this video and saying the SEALs are slow in the water (have no idea where you are all getting this from)...take into fact if you can't swim 6 miles, run 15 miles, perform 150 pullups, 400 pushups and 400 situps in one day then you should probably shut the fuck up. Lard asses.

  • @MrZeke1902 Rah!

  • hey what happens if u dont pass the pst can u take it agin and is there a limit thanks man

  • @1denisflores you can retake the PST if you fail it, though I'm unsure on how long you would need to wait before completing it. However, what you should be focused on is passing it on your first attempt, you need to forget any sort of mentality that you might fail it when you take it. If you are prepared and have put in the effort, you will pass.

  • @1denisflores This is only for Navy Spec Ops/ Spec Warfare and No limit, but once you get your contract you have to take one PST a month and show improvement.

  • @MrZeke1902 HOOYAH!!. -PO3. HOPE TO SEE U IN THE FLEET WITH THAT TRIDENT

  • @MrZeke1902 That is why I respet the Navy Seals so much. I cant do that but im 14 and I hope to become a Marine or Join the Army I dont know yet.

  • @RayBanVisions Well I wish you the best when the time comes. The Army and Marines are both great in their own ways. And anyone can do it as long as they put the time, effort, sweat and blood into it.

  • @RayBanVisions B.U.D., I'm gonna tell you something I wish someone had told ME at 14: NEVER say "I cant do that," especially if you wanna join any military. somebody's life may count on you ignorin' that... as what happened to me. my sayin' "I cant do that" might've cost somebody a life.

  • @incdogrobber Im sorry to heat that man. But i will listen to you

  • @MrZeke1902 can you do that in 2 hours xD

  • @xINF3RNOo Alas no, it's impossible to do all that in two hours. The running alone would take about two hours assuming you ran at a constant pace of 8 mph the entire time. My mile swim takes about 20-30 mins too, depending on if I'm wearing fins or not.

  • @MrZeke1902 haha i know just messing man, but i can do the swimming and the pushups in two hours swam the mile for the first time at a swim meet went a 19:22 (not very fast in competitive swimming) but yeah thats why im going to be a navy seal!

  • @xINF3RNOo well good luck, hope to see you with that trident some day. And 19:22 isn't too bad for a mile swim.

  • I find this hard to masterbate to

  • i dont understand what he means when he says "pressing on your bouy"?

  • @MrJohn434 I think he means your center mass, your chest, lungs, what makes you float.

  • @mosesjeanfrancois Newsflash scooter. Marines swim as well.

  • @tro55 Oh, my bad!

  • @tro55 Recon does. I was in the Marines and attached to the Marines as their Combat Corpsman with water survival training. I can tell you this.....they don't all swim that well. I didn't swim ONCE in Iraq! =)

  • the only swimming style I know is the dog paddle. How long would it take me to learn this advanced move?

  • @bangmeister it should take about a week maximum if you hit the pool every day. perfecting your technique is probably what would take much longer. but just learning the rhythm of this should take no more than a week

  • @bangmeister Being a fresh learner with no bad habits to break I bet you'd pick it up pretty quick with some instruction.

  • @bangmeister

I'm not a seal or anything, and I'm not in the navy either.

But I just want to give you some good advice. Always start with Freestyle, and practice a LOT. When he said "no bad habits" he really means it. The problem with new swimmers like you or me is that practically EVERYTHING we do instinctively is...a bad habit. Just go to a pool and try to do it. Ask anyone for pointers. And practice, practice practice. When you get Freestyle down, everything else becomes SO natural.

  • AOL(America out loud) baby...

  • awesome. Thank you!

  • whats a gay technique ..

  • Thanks for this video helps alot with the first Spec Ops PT's

  • @GodHatesPortugal Hahah someone is a paranoid possibly schizophrenic asshole, who believes all the contradicting bs conspiracy theories about the NWO. Do you really think if there was so much proof you would be among the few people who believe/know about it? Far more intelligent and logical people have seen those silly articles and they simply recognize it for what it is. Paranoia and an internet fool playing the blame game. Bad things happen in the world? The Zionist NWO is behind it! Grow up.

  • I personally think the SEALs are the best, but that's just because i want to be one. all of our spec ops guys, and all of the US Military in general are all awesome people who do a great service. I can't wait to join.

  • Search this on youtube.

Indian Technic in-phase, Breast Stroke, Indian Technic out-of-phase

  • Search this on youtube.

Combat Side Stroke, Breast Stroke, Side Stroke

  • Hooyah SEALs!

  • These guys are the epitome of human beings.

  • when you innitiate the kick, does the top leg have to kick forward because when i was lifeguard trained i was told to place the top leg back to create less drag from bending knees, and now i have that habit and i'd like to know if the way you kick even matters.

  • @9novak4 The stroke is in such a manner that it's a lot easier to flatten out and have your entire body facing the bottom if your top leg goes forward. The multidirectional thrust provided by your leg during the kick almost forces your body to go flat.

  • @9novak4 STOP! That's why new learners learn FASTER. No bad habits to break first. Just do as the video shows. Don't nuke (over think) it.

  • holy shit, this is the only way i have ever known how to swim, since i was a kid.

  • this is for long distance, military purpose, combat situation swimming. much different from your stupid little swim team.

  • what do you do to be able to hold your breath for a couple of minutes?

  • @darthshadowxxx Practice it by doing push-ups on the floor while holding your breath. It trains your body. BUT...put a pillow under you for just in case you pass out! =)

  • Comment removed

  • @justdfactsmaam i didnt see what the guy your replying to said? what does the push ups help you with?

  • @Meowws Its not about speed completely. Doggy paddle isn't effect in the least bit.

  • wow, u call this navy? take this to the pool and i fucking beat u with a doggy paddle.

  • @Meowws The doggie paddle will also reveal your position from 2 miles away due to its splashing. Speed is not the key. Efficiency, endurance and little water movement is.

  • @Meowws OK thats not nice, i understand you are a veracious troll with no life but don't insult the US navy SEALS pl0x

  • @ZelddaLinkFreak are u denying the fact that this swimming is hillariously retardedly slow? are you like 12 years old? grow up, fucking dumb fuck! get some education and start learning ur doggy paddle. u fat piece of shit cant even swim a pool length!

  • @Meowws

The Navy isnt always about who gets there first. Its obvious that this stroke is slower than a lot of others, but it is more efficient, and is less noisy. Yes, with this stroke you will be slower. But you wont be as tired, and chances are you probably wont get caught.

  • @MANUm5Nabi navy is such a fucking joke. do they watch porno and masturbate in dorms? do u get vulgar commands all day long? i am just curious.

  • @Meowws wow just go and kill yourself. i mean, you must be a really weak person with serious self confidence issues if your making jokes about a U.S. Navy SEAL. i mean thats just downright insane. the SEAL in the video could undoubtedly kill you with his bare hands if you were a threat to him, damn you are really stupid to be making insults like that against anyone in the Special Warfare community. seriously, go die you cunt.

  • @jjh36ls no, come to think of it. i really think Seals are dick heads. u really need to evaluate urself. your the problem.

  • @Meowws ok, i now know what the problem is. some phony claiming to be a SEAL picked you up at a bar and fucked you and never called you again. you have a higher chance of meeting a giant spaghetti monster than meeting a real SEAL. so i seriously doubt you have ever met one. im in the Navy and i met a SWCC and he was completely cool and not a dickhead at all. i think you need to evaluate yourself and figure out why you troll on youtube, theres obviously something wrong with you.

  • @jjh36ls are u like 12 years old? why dont u go buy a cadbury chocolate and shove it into up fat mouth!...loser!

  • @Meowws im done with your stanky pussy. your too fat, go anorexic and loose some weight. quit putting the problems you have onto other people.

  • @jjh36ls looks like the problem is you. get a life. keep barking doggy. arf arf arf ^-^. Good Doggy! i hacked into ur webcam, tell that to yourself u dumb hunchback cockroach!

  • @Meowws i hate crazy people. hack into my webcam so i can moon you.

  • @jjh36ls looks who talking. keep barking. arf arf arf ^-^. good boy.

  • @Meowws are you that stupid? this kind of swimming isn't about speed it's about saving energy and being stealth. navy isn't the olympic swimming team.

  • @Meowws I'll bet you a night with your girlfriend I win.

  • @justdfactsmaam cool. what you did not knew is that, i had more than just a girlfriend. called a wife! learn to grow up kiddo. are you like 12 years old u dumb cunt?

  • @Meowws that is why all the other branches call it GAYVY

  • @Meowws

lol the combat swim is meant for long endurance swimming and less visibility in the ocean waves

  • @Meowws i don't know what you're talking about, the guy demonstrating in the vid was flyin through the water.... i'm sure a freestyle sprint might beat him for the first 50-100 meters, but after that i think the efficiency of the stroke will come in handy.

  • My biggest problem is the scissor kick

  • Harder than navy seals? No way!

  • I can do that swim where you slowly move forward and do a lot of splashing. This swim seems a lot better to do if i was trying to swim sneaky....sneakily swimming. stealthily sneakily swimming..

  • I'm confused, this looks less efficient than freestyle, what are the advantages?

  • @SuperJew2D2 its less noisy/splashy

  • @magnetoplan OK, that actually makes sense in a combat situation. Thanks.

  • this is such bullshit. any competetitive swimmer could do this in under 10 minutes, unless he sucks. of all the incredible aspects of the navy SEAL, this isn't shit lols.

  • I am not a soldier by any means but in my survival swimming class at NC State my teacher said the combat swimmer stroke is used mainly because it has less splash and creates less noise than other strokes

  • So this is for long distance swimming im guessing?

  • Bigbfoot1 LMAO hahaha

  • could someone please explain to me what this type of swim is trying to accomplish?

  • @15niall it is great to conserve energy and it is almost completely silent...

  • @TheRSPatriot oh i see...pretty handy in those guys line of work then haha

  • @15niall Combat stroke is employed to minimize amount of body breaking the surface of the water and to minimize splashing. Think aligator going in for the kill, doesn't help if he starts doing the front crawl towards lunch.

  • @LunaiiKareyna582 nice nude pics you got in your profile's website

  • yep

  • Intresting.... I was compete-swimming my whole childhood/college and throw my swedish navy years, but i have never seen anything like it.

But I get it... 2 third crawl on third breast stroke.... low in the water with less splash..... Brilliant !

Not the fastest way, but thats not the point i guess.

I can`t see that I have any use fore it, but that doesn`t make it less intresting.

    Thanx for the video.

  • side stroke=very efficient 4 conserving energy 2 complete the other parts of a mission but it's also quite stealthy. a freestyle stroke would let the enemy know you're there & U don't want that. having done this stroke for years I know it sounds like the natural drip-drops of H2O when done properly. You'll be surprised how long/far U can go & how much energy U have after doin' it even 4 several hours.

  • mental has nothing to do with it. i tried the side stroke to get into the seals. i failed.

  • how did you fail?

  • That stroke is the dumbest shit i've ever seen. Can you just do freestyle aka front crawl?

  • @clietzow it would be too noisy these strokes make it so there is as little noise as possible when close to enemy lines

  • @MichaelRJKidd nobody cares

  • @MichaelRJKidd Shut the fuck up you arrogant prick

  • I have a question: does this (CSS) involve the flutter kick after the scissor kick? That's not going to disqualify you, is it?

  • what's the ideal height for swimming?

  • @TheLeilisa

as tall as possible. Just look at Michael Phelps.

  • @thisisobvious ok thanks just trying to grow taller. There is this product " helpo growth formula" it is herbal thing, i ve been using it quite a while, seems like working.

  • This stroke is so awesome!!! I swim a 29 50meter of this stroke (sc). I snuck up on my coach during practice and scared the crap outnumber of him. This stroke is super stealthy and freaking awesome it's gayer than breatroke but much more efficient at conserving energy compared to free

  • @MrLosser12345 .....really?

  • what are we allowed to use in the pst??? if your technique is not perfect is this a disqualification? also on their website it says the combat sidestroke is to be used but this guy said you can use the sprinter side stroke so these two sources are contradicting, anyone out there who actually took the pst?

  • @0100110101001011 No you won't be disqualified for not having perfect technique, when I took my first PST my stroke was far from perfect and the instructor actually worked with me on it after everything was done. The sprinter side stroke is just a variation of the CSS so it is still considered a sidestroke, you don't even have to use the combat swimmer sidestroke, or I didn't at least, any form of sidestroke is acceptable.

  • what are we allowed to use in the pst??? if your technique is not perfect is this a disqualification?

  • @brinderofdeath actually that isnt true Navy Seal has the highest drop out rate which is at 75% in contrast Marine Force Recon only has a 30% drop out rate... Seal is the hardest of all special forces in the U.S military
