  • Thanks so much. It is easy for you. Don't know why but it's hard for me. When I put the faucet back on, the water would not turn off. hum..... Plan B is to see if my friend's husband can help me. Plan C is to call my handyman.

  • Thank you for sharing. Your video is very helpful.

  • Thank you so much! We were able to fix this leaky faucet easily and in only a few minutes. Your video saved us a big bill from a plumber, I am sure!

  • Worked to perfection! Thx for helping me hit the EASY button :-D

  • Cannot thank you enough! Invaluable in helping me make my repair.

  • Muchas Gracias!!!!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you, I can not express my gratitude enough! This vid was very helpful! I finally fixed my link faucet! :D

  • thanks sir this is so heplfull.

  • good job mr that was easy

  • thanks! you have exactly the same kind of faucet in my powder room which helps a lot :)

  • Thanks man! I couldn't believe I found this video! Leak resolved :)

  • This did the trick! Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video.

  • Hi gingerpk...Thanks for your post and idea about closing the drain plug. I've added that anotation to my video!

    Thanks again!

  • I am a 61 year old woman and had to fix my leaky faucet, after watching your video I attempted the task and was so surprised at how EASY it was, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, one other thing you might want to add , close the drain in case you drop something it wont be lost lol

  • Thanks for posting this, I am fixing mine tomorrow.

  • Delta's website says Place new seat over new spring (Delta Genuine Part RP4993 – two sets per package)and insert into socket in body using a pencil or an Allen wrench. (Small end of spring goes into seat large end of the spring goes into the faucet body.)

The spring is small end up, large diameter part down.

  • Thanks soooo much. Your specifics on how to replace the seat and the spring were especially helpful to me. The packaging they came with did not tell you which side up to insert them. My first time and with your help, success !!

  • Stuart, I love you! Thanks.

  • Great! I got stuck at getting the nut off before.

  • Thanks a bunch for posting this. It made my repair a breeze!

  • this video helped us out a lot! thank you! we kept putting the seat in the wrong way and the faucet would not shut off. This video showed us the right way to put in the seat and spring and now our faucet is not leaking! Thank you!

  • I believe the seat springs go in narrow end on the top not bottom : - ) May want to check when taking them out to verify. Fantastic job on this video, thanks for stepping up to the plate! This can sure help a lot of people! Merry Christmas to you and your family and all your viewers!

  • Dude you rock, you saved my ass on a Sunday night.... I could not figure this out for the life of me. I was putting the black top on first and the spring inside of it and I could not figure out why the water was still running. If it wasn't for you and this video, I would have been up a creak without a paddle...

    Thanks Again.

  • This worked!!! Thanks and God bless.

  • Your video ws a huge help. After my landloard spent near 6 hours trying to do this and did'tt get the job done. I thought I would loook on You tube and see if anyone with some knowledge could show me how to do it. It worked and it didn't take me 6 hours like my landloard, whom I think had plumming lessions from The 3 Stooges. Thanks a million for this , simple, easy to follow and understand video.

  • Success! All the appropriate details and procedures. Thanks alot!! ** infinitely superior to the video instructions on the Delta site.

  • Easy to understand, simple video and jargon. I checked a few other videos to jog my memory on the spring direction but yours is the only one that showed it. I don't think it really matters much if it's wide end up or down, as long as the seat washer is nice and tight in the seat. Thanks!

  • If you check out speedyvalve by floodmaster it could help out alot in this task if the water does not shut off. They have a video on you tube

  • EXCELLENT!! thanks..I had trouble because the old seat got stuck in the chamber, but finally got it out and all it well!!!

  • BRAVO! I have made this repair many years ago, easy. Not so easy now, seems as one ages, some data is purged along the way. Your video is perfect. Wish I had found it before I removed both faucets.... Now that they are open I will replace both seats & springs. A local plumber wanted $50 just for the service call, plus labor & parts. I saved that money thanks to you.

  • Thank you!

  • ...Thank you for making this video it helped me fix all the leaky faucets in my house...on my faucets the spring is small side up so i replaced it that way...

  • Thank you for spending the time to create this video--very helpful.

  • Thanks! I was on the right track, but needed some reassurance that I was doing the right thing. My Peerless faucet no longer leaks!

  • You are a nice man.

  • Nice Job... Thanks

  • Thanks, this was really helpful. Got the job done!

  • Thanks

  • nice job. a quick note. you should have mentioned that you should shut the drain stopper. i dropped the washer in it. and had to buy another!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are a godsend to single women everywhere who refuse to give up! After completely flooding my bathroom by putting the faucet on backwards, I watch your video and the sink was fixed in 5 minutes! Home Depot, NO I don't have a man at home who could do this for me! I have you!

  • Very helpful. I replaced both faucet cartridges, seats, springs, and handles with DANCO's Delta "remodeling kit" 39675. The instructions on the back of the package don't really tell you how to remove and replace the seat & spring out, so your video was essential!

In my sink, the spring's wider end was face-down. So, I replaced it that way, and it worked fine.

  • Good job dude! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I was going to send my parents off the the plumber/handyman which would have cost them at least $50.. I can do this for $2, 10 minutes of my time, and I will ask my mom to make me lunch!

  • THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! You have saved me some cash!

  • You look an awful lot like Stew from "The Hangover". Thanks for the advice. Works perfect!

  • that is him

  • Stuart

Great advice, I called Delta who sent me the repair kit RP4993G for free, and I watched your video and loved it, and repaired my seats and springs easily. Thanks for your help.

  • The replacement part that I used was from Home Depot. It cost $3.78. It was made by DANCO. It is called Single Handle Replacement seats and springs for Delta/Peerless part # DL-17. I know it says Single Handle but my faucet was a double handled Peerless Brass Faucet.

    Good Luck Girls.

  • I am sending you an email hug. Ladies, I have one inch acrylic nails and I just replace the seat and springs to my faucet following his directions. My bathroom faucet had been leaking for over a year. I didn't even chip a nail. the black rubber seat wouldnt stay on the spring, so I smashed it down with the handle of the screw driver and put everything back together following his directions turned on the water and no more drips

  • Stewart Evans...thanks a bunch. Saved me a service call for a plumber. Great job. I fixed a leaking shower, and wouldn't have been able to figure out the correct orientation of the spring and seat. Great job!!

  • Thanks.

I was having trouble because I was putting the rubber seat in upside down with the spring on top. Duh! But after watching the video I did it right and we are set now. Thanks.

  • Thanks for posting this! Made the the job quick and easy.. Keep up the great video's..

  • Nice explanation. I should of checked this before I went to Home Depot!

    I am ready now.

  • One small correction. You need to put the spring's wide end down. That is how I found it when I took the old parts out and that is how the replacement parts manual suggests. I did note that with the narrow end down, it still works, but not sure what the long term consequences would be.

  • ReyB ,

Thanks for your note and help in clarifying how the spring is to be positioned when replacing. I didn't realize I had it in reverse. My sink is still working fine, so apparently, it doesn't make much difference either way. Still...I would recommend like you to advise everyone to place the wide end down.

    Thanks again!

  • Great Job - Followed your instructions and it worked like a charm

  • thanks! $4 for parts - easy fix

  • Thank You!!!

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • Oh! forgot to mention, I was fixing my kitchen faucet, but the insides were the same.

    Thanks again!

  • Thanks for the video! I did everything like you did, but when I put the rubber seat in, it flipped and I didn't realize it. You pointing it out made me go double check my work. Thanks again this was great!

  • this stuff is like porn to me. :D

  • I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I'm in Ocala, FL and was pleased when your recommendations worked so well. (I did make an error at first when the faucets had to be turned the wrong direction to be turned on/off). Keep up the good work.

  • Thank you for this tutorial. I've fixed my kitchen sink before because the water wouldn't turn on.....bad gaskets, etc. However I had no idea how to tackle the bathroom sink. I had a hard time figuring out how to remove the handles until I saw your video. I'm going to home depot real soon to get the repair kit. Thanks again.

  • Thank you thank you thank you thank you. You saved me hours of work, at least three trips to Home Depot and probably the cost of a plumber to fix the mess I made. This was just what I needed.

  • alecsmyth,

Thanks for the post...by the way, I like your time lapse party set up you did.

  • Hey great video! You need to do one on how to fix a delta faucet in the bathtub because mine is leaking like crazy!

  • nonewhatt . . . Yeah, maybe when my bathtub begins to leak I will do that! :-)

  • Thank you so much! Was looking all over trying to find some tips and all the other guides were showing different kinds of sinks which didn't do me any good. Once again thanks a million.

  • Steelcityroller....Thanks for your comments...glad to help!

  • Hey, Thanks a lot. I had never done this on a delta before, and it was really nice to know what to do before I got into it. Thanks.

  • Hello figbatphrog,
