  • ROME- WORLD´S FIRST SUPERPOWER !!

  • VERY well done!

Big thanks for the good job You did and for the uploading of the material!... :)

    PS.

I've got this "thing" for the History of Ancient Rome, too... ;)

  • @marcusArmyStrong If you ever finish it, i would love to read the book! Let me know!

  • @PSSNBA456 I plan on having it finished before too long, hopefully

  • AVE ROMA

  • sounds like America? modern troops, bases everywhere, spreading their democratic version everywhere?

this war of trying to spread your OWN way of life, around the world is what bankrupted Rome's economy and it will bankrupt America too. learn from history. You cannot control the whole world.

  • @j12torts Believe me, there are lots of us Americans who don't want any more wars. I don't want to be the "world's police" anymore. It's time for "pax Americana" and to concentrate on our own problems here.

  • what did Romans think of the Chinese?

  • Varus lost the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD losing 3 legions (20 000 men) which was a devastating blow to Rome. So Germania was never really fully conquered. I wonder if Varus had actually won that battle would Germany exist today, no Hitler and no WW2?

  • @genesarereal It wasn't a battle dude, it was an ambush.

  • @praetorianus72 yes they were ambushed but they also fought along serveral kilometres to a last stand where they built a makeshift fortifcation which was discovered in the forest a few years ago.

  • For all the people saying how much better the world would be if Rome had survived please stop.

Rome collapsed on itself because of the way it had become after the fourth century A.D. It was weakened by a successive line of incompetent line of Emperors, gradual loss of land and wealth to growing barbarians, and arrogance. The fall was natural and inevitable. Let us remember that the Rome we are proud of was a different beast than the Rome that fell.

  • @NinjXPk

True, Rome changed a lot before it fell.

It wasn't the Rome we learn about in the schoolbooks.

  • @NinjXPk Then allow us to imagine that rather than the 5 good emperors, there were the 500 good emperors (and sure empresses why not) who ruled Rome from 98 AD to this day. Yes, I think if that were the case, we would all be waving SPQR flags in Europe, America, Africa, and Asia. Not sure if the Romans would have cared much about Antartica though.

  • Romans to the west and Chinese to the east that would be unbelievable !!but obviously it would never happen or never last very long they would just kill eachother

  • loe it!

  • what movies or documentary's?

  • alright, alright, where do I sign up?

  • Great to see Romans wipe the fucking shit out of Euro barbs. How unfortunate that Rome fell under these Europeans. Greetings from the Middle Kingdom!

  • @DragonOfQin if rome never fell we as a whole race or those who lived in the empire witch would probably be the world by now, we would be far more advanced then we are today

  • @mostshocking101 If Qing did not get ripped apart by the 8 nation alliance China would own half of the world today.

  • (SPQR) Senate and the People of Rome. America was founded as a Republic...The Rule Of Law. It is now a pseudo Republic w/Democratic principles that have been slowly leading to Socialism and ending w/Communism. The founding father will be turning over in their graves to see what America has become now. Benjamin Franklin was asked by a woman..Sir what have you done for us? ? Mam we have given you a Republic if you can keep it!" We must restore the Republic or our liberty will ceased.

  • @54nomore A free republic as the original roman republic requires the responsibility of all of its citizens to be informed and actively taking part in government roles ie. tribunes and representatives representing various people. When the citizens of a country no longer show such interest (usually because there is no longer an immediate fear of tyranny) then a few powerful individuals gain power and rule which is exactly what happened to Rome.

  • @54nomore

    Unfortunately You're 100% RIGHT.

    1st of all: NONE other modern State have taken so much from the Roman History as the USA;

2nd: even the signs of it's decadence are similar to the signs of decadence of the Ancient Republic, like:

    1. the increasing division between the few rich and the mass of the poor;

    2. the increasing corruption of the political estabilishment;

    3. the corruption of the original "republican virtues" due to leftist (so called "progressive" ideas);

    ...etc.

  • eeeepic

  • really nice video.

Man but Hollywood don't make much videos about other great empires like Persia or Armenia. i hate hollywood

  • @infidel94 - There are several involving the Persians mightiest armies being brought to it's knees by 300 Greek pedophiles

  • @spamllpitdept all propaganda by Heradotus.

  • The strongest army ever. It's easy to be strong with bombs and planes. But to be strong with swords and shields is quite different.

  • @rudyalpha Samurai didnt use shields so by your logic Samurai was the greatest warrior.

  • I love this video. I'm writing a book on the topic of the Roman Empire and I use the music from this almost every time. You did a fantastic job at assembling this. Well done

  • @marcusArmyStrong thank you :)

  • @marcusArmyStrong Hey since your writing a book on the roman empire you must be the right person to ask. Do you know why the roman army went so downhilll in its later years. Roman legionnaires from 300AD looks so different from the ones in the time of caesar. They look more barbaric and disorginazied if you ask me.

  • @Stefanoitch That is a very good question actually. Surprisingly as the wars in the frontier continued, the Legions adapted to the environment they were in. Armor styles such as the lorica hamata were inspired by the enemy barbarians that they fought. So to answer it in short, it was kind of adaptation. Not to mention all the political factors of the senate that transformed the legions from the hand of the Emperor to that of a crude cudgel used to just beat the shit out of their enemies

  • @Stefanoitch The presence of more non-italics in the roman army of the 4th and 5th century was one of the cause of the fall of Rome. The italics fought for the glory of Rome and for their lands and privileges, the non-italics fought for money. Romans were as good as they were condemned. All the empires fall, but the roman empire lasted more than 700 years, even more if you take the foundation of the city of Rome and Constantinoplr. I prefer the roman republic, with only italics in the legions.

  • The name of the Latins was composed of three parts.

    1) Prenomen, the personal name

    2) Nomen, the name of Gens (the Clan)

    3) Cognomen, the family name.

He was Gaius (his personal name) of the Juli's clan, of the family of the Caesars.

His cousin Lucius was his a legate in Gaul, and his name was Lucius Julius Caesar in the Gallic Wars, the book Cesar wrote, he is always called Lucius Caesar, while he call himself only Caesar.

  • isnt that thew vanghelsing theme at 3:54

  • @sirdullboyofponty YES IT IS :)

  • @CroPETROforever actually he uses the score to that movie well before that :P

  • @CroPETROforever is the video taken from a documentary or a movie if so NAME PL0X

  • @deltaforceee DOCUMENTARY: Imperium Romanum Teil but it's on german version, don't know will you find english.

  • @CroPETROforever THANK YOU

  • Rien n'etait plus fort que rome. Personne n'etait plus fort que les légionnaires romains. Rien n'a été plus grands que rome! Gloir à rome!!

  • What is the From?

  • The "Conquest of Germania (9AD)"

The Romans never 'conquered' Germania. ie. Teutoburg Forest...duh!

  • Was this like a film or something? I really want to see it, whatever it is :L

  • from what movies where these clips taken from i wanna know

  • caesar was his family name..and it was adopted by many leaders for years later...kaiser = german, czar= russian..are some recent ones...but all the roman emperors adopted his name....

  • Honoured to be a descendant of the romans.

  • Rome was a light in a world of darkness

  • @NinjXPk Well, that's one interpretation, especially if you not one of those conquered. I doubt the conquered felt the same way. The mythology of the glorification of war is just that.

  • @RichardRoy2 The conquered will always bear the sharp and painful side of the sword. The same can be said about Native American Aboriginals and how they were conquered by technologically superior Europeans. I realize it was terrible for the conquered but Rome truly deserves its glory. It created order and unified East with West for several centuries allowing for mass advancements in the development of technology, trade, philosophy, science and literature.

  • @NinjXPk Amazing how we can rationalize the destruction of others in the name of x. If we must slaughter in the name of those things you praise, I say those things are too costly. The order that was created was someone's idea of what order is. But it presumes that other's idea of what is order is invalid. I don't accept the idea of right by might. Sounds like "stability", "progress", and "commerce" have won out over "libery", "autonomy", and " the sanctity of an individuals life".

  • @RichardRoy2 I understand your point of view on the matter but I believe that the ends justified the means. I respect your point of view and was merely stating my own.

  • @NinjXPk I appreciate that you understand, and I'd never begrudge you your point of view till it caused you to cross swords with me. I'm sure the same on that point. I'm more inclined to view the ends needing to be complementary to the means. Again, cercumstances may dictate alternate approaches, but, as much as I can, I try to seek a balance. No offence taken in our discourse. I appreciate one stating one's views, as was I mine.

  • @RichardRoy2 I am pleased that I can have an educated and mannered conversation with someone; unlike many in youtube who are insufferable and intolerable to any point besides their own and show disregard for anyone else and their opinions.

  • @NinjXPk 1a. My pleasure as well. I've more recently become more interested in the history of Rome for the purposes of writing, and am intrigued by the varying views on it. One historian pointed out that it's difficult to come to full understanding of the past as there were written records only of certain episodes, and only from a particular perspective. After all, the peasant couldn't write or read, for the most part. But a characteristic he'd noted was that the aristocracies became...

  • @NinjXPk 2a. ...wealthy is the peasantry had a functional base of productivity and trade to begin with. So he speculated that the base came first, then the aristocracy rose on the backs of that. It seems to be the case in much of history. Documentation is only one source of knowledge. There's also archiological findings, which is much more time and finance consuming. Interpretation is the next element to sort through. We learn more as we go. Love to know more about that base of the peasantry.

  • @NinjA POke You are 100% correct! The founding fathers of America envisions the United States to be the Rome of the west. They created a Republic (Rule Of Law) and called the center of power Rome which is now Washington DC." Strength and Honor to all!"

  • @54nomore i know dc if ever noticed a lot of the building are built in roman style

  • @most shocking 101 That was done for a reason. The founding fathers had envision the their new republic...United States to be like the Republic of Rome in more ways then one. One was being governed by the rule of law, and the other for it's capitol to be as grandeur and aesthetically eye catching as the greatest of all Republics... Rome.

  • @NinjXPk It was the truest light that had ever shone. Too bad the greatest empire the world has ever known lasted for only a thousand years. If they were to have survive the world would of been even brighter and more enlighten. "Roma Victor" Strength and Honor!

  • @54nomore a thousand years? starting at the republic times 509 BC up untill the fall of constantinople in 1453 AD is close to 2000 years

  • Caesar (Latin: Caesar) is a title given to a person of imperial dignity, which draws its origins from cognomn of Gaius Julius Caesar (Gaius Julius Caesar). The name of Caesar was sent for adoption by the dictator Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus (Gaius OctaviusThurinus, Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus Augustus then), the first emperor, and then from these to the heirs and successors.

  • AGUANTE ROMA Y EL EJERCITO MAS PODEROSO DEL MUNDO ANTIGUO GLORIA A ROMA Y SUS LEGIONES Y LOS GENERALES

  • Rome was the symbol of strength, power and glory!

  • religon creates more wars. then helps.. fuck religion.

  • Ezio comes and kills them all.

  • "Caesar" is not a name of a person. it's a TITLE given to an emperor(e.g Augustus Caesar, Julius Caesar, Tiberius Caesar .....)

  • @ecuasion100 it's pretty known that when you say only CAESAR, you mean on julius caesar... also CAESAR was a family name, his cognomen from his family, later on, it became a TITLE all roman emperor used ...

  • @CroPETROforever Actually, Julius Caesar's name was Gaius Julius of the House of Julii, but when there are others in your family with the same name, they tend to add an extra name/titles. Caesar was a Title.

Gaius Julius Caesar - Dictator for life.

Augustus Caesar (Gaius Octavius Thurinus (Julius after adoption).) - Adopted by Gaius Julius Caesar, and considered the first Emperor of the Roman Empire.

Apart from that crap. Nice video, mate.

  • @fraserscot true yes ... and thank you

  • Comment removed

  • @CroPETROforever actually, he's partially wrong... "caesar" was originally a nickname... Gaivs (name) Ivlius (surname) Caearvs (nickname)... but later nickname became a title...

duh. I started typing English and then switched to Croatian, si I had to retype it...

  • @fraserscot Actually, Caesar was nickname & simply meant - "thick haired one" before it was recoined as the title referring to the Emperor of the SPQR after the murder of Gaius Julius.

  • @fraserscot This is so junior nerding! Caesar was his family by name/cognomen, and before the Roman Governor conquering the Gauls, there were others with the family name Caesar of his, it became a title but by the implicit that whoever did was "Imperator" too and family member of The Octavius Augustus after him, not really a Caesar but by adoption, or Dictator & Imperator, renounced by his own farce, but Princeps of the SPQR.

  • @CroPETROforever well not all emperor only the Julius house family until it ended with new emperors from other families but u are right there about CAESARS name and TITELS

  • @CroPETROforever and then much later a a title for the heir

  • @ecuasion100 en verda es el apellido cèsar cesar no es un titulo si no el apellido

  • @ecuasion100 No, Gaius Julius Caesar was a person. Caesar became a title after his death in order to emulate him.

  • @ecuasion100

yes used then by all other imperators...german kaiser....russian zar

  • also augusto its not real name...it is an appellative whitch mean: whitch is icreasing from the latin verb augere = to increase....

  • @ecuasion100 julius ceasar was his actual name. but his adopted son octavian made ceasar a title for roman emporers in hnor of his father

  • @ecuasion100 Yes, study your subject before you start lecturing people like that. Caesar not a name, what a bloody foolish thing to say.

  • i just want to say that Caius Julius Caesar wasn't an Emperor of Rome. good video exept that :)

  • @whitemen02 I never said in video that he was an emperor :) he idea was to show that he led to the empire after him, because if wasn't him, empire wouldn't come so quickly in his succesor augustus.

  • @CroPETROforever yeah sorry i wrote that before the end of the video

  • it best to have 1 nation... under god... 1 people united then a mix in the world...

    nationality will end humanity

  • @pcortes1987 The Romans had many nationalities under them. They were like an ancient America. America is not the first with their bright idea LOL. and BTW God has nothing to do with anything. Let people believe what they want to believe it. Just because you believe in God does not mean your neighbor has to. People have the right to believe in whatever they want. Also do some REAL history research. The Founding Fathers were Deists. They believed in freedom FROM religion.

  • @CroPetroforever you dont know a documentary or a film about romans with eng sub? :)

  • Comment removed

  • what is the film name? from what film u take this..

  • @johnduca from many documentary episodes - imperium romanum teil's... it was on german.

  • @johnduca I really don't. that was the only I could find to use for my videos :)

  • Men this video is sexy... or maybe jus t the brave men ^_^

  • ...I wonder...

  • Wow... dont f with rome lol

  • what movies are these?

  • Tea anyone?

  • awesome music

  • @CroPETROforever do u know if I can find the documentary that this is from in English? Iooked it up on youtube and its all in German I believe

  • @SlyDessertFox Sorry friend, but I know only for that german version... maybe you can download it with torrent somewhere from internet.

  • @CroPETROforever ok thnx

  • hey guys you know the Romans have nothing to do with America or communism. Both of you need to take this argument somewhere else k

  • @SlyDessertFox,Whoever said it did?

(Tito Livio, Ab Urbe condita libri, I, )

    anterosecondo

  • this makes me proud to be Roman.

  • @zZMCHUNTAZz Are you entirely certain you're Roman? Genetics are a complex thing.

  • GLORIA ETERNA A ROMA E ALL'IMPERO ROMANO !!!!

  • great great gerat video --- keep up the good work

  • @guzicaguzica thank you :)

  • Roma Victor

  • what movie did you get the video from?

  • @cartrick1 from documentary Imperium Romanum

  • so,...they are called spartans

  • All other Empires were just Empires.

But The Roman Empire was more than a Empire. If it was not for the Romans we would still be in the stone age :D.

All other empires was destroyed by others. But not the Romans. The barbarian just striked at the right moment when Romans had problems in their borders.

Its just a shame that it didnt last longer.

Can you imagine Roman Legions with muskets. Hehe =D

  • I hate Rome. They pushed their values on every nation or killed them. Everyone has the right to make up their mind what they believe. No one has the right to force your will on any one person or any one nation. I would gone to war with Rome if i lived in the day. Rome fuck you. Eat shit and die.

  • @mountainstandardtime I Love Rome! if you would go in war with them I will go in war with Rome I wana live on Roman times and no war is not good but in every part of the world it have been war its a part of the human! All lands and Empires have Dark years but they have Glorius days to

We Make war then we live in peace.

Rome dide good things too. R.I.P Caesar!

  • @mountainstandardtime,Just like what the US is doing right now.

  • @mountainstandardtime It's funny coming from an american :))))

  • @mountainstandardtime stfu kid

  • @mountainstandardtime lol what was that? was that a hypocrite speaking, what happened when you thought vietnam was going to be communist. what did you do? YOU went to WAR against them because they didnt want to live like the US, so the US apparently saw a threat to themselves. BULLSHIT. everyone knows the US hates those who dont agree or approve of the US and its lifestyles

  • @downhiller234 You fag, we all know why the Vietnam war take place. You're a fucking communist piece of shit, gtfo.

  • @DeanWinchester133 yes of course im a communist, is that all you can come back with, either you are 12 or have a mental age of 12. you decide which fits you better. i live in england which is not communist, and guessing by your very extensive vocabulary you obviously are either a scum-bag or a kid that doesnt get out much

  • @downhiller234 Dude, really? Don't you have any hobbies? Being a communist today means no one gives a flying fuck. Good luck getting laid.

  • @DeanWinchester133 My god, such a brilliant point i dont know what to come back with. You obviously out-smartened me there. What have my hobbies got to do with anything? And "being a communist today mean no one gives a flying fuck" i dont understand you and dont you have anything better to do than making stupid comments which dont make sense and swearing every comment. BECAUSE swearing makes you a very scary man *cough* *cough*

  • @downhiller234 All i'm saying is that there's no reason to brag about being a communist, since no one gives a crap today. And if you're not down with that, i got 2 words for you. Suck it!

  • @DeanWinchester133 im not a communist, so all of your previous points are irrelevant and your argument is completely flawed. seeing from my last few comments you obviously cant see when sarcasm is used either. so please dont take up any more of my time with your retarded comments, where you make no sense and cant understand simple english

  • @downhiller234 Now that you mention it, you suck at sarcasm so much that it makes me wonder why the fuck you used it in the first place. Good job loser, your mother would be proud.

  • @DeanWinchester133 i dont "suck" as you put it, you simply cannot understand english. then "good job loser" makes no sense as both counter act each other, saying that it was a good job followed by loser. WELL DONE, you primary school teacher would be proud and will give you a star tommorow.

  • @downhiller234 Or maybe i'm just high as fuck and you're a 32 year old virgin that finds speaking like that makes him look educated and cool. Buddy, i suggest you drop the sarcasm thing and grow some balls for a change. What do you say? Oh wait, you can't. Cause you're a fucking pussy. See you around, loser.

  • @DeanWinchester133 your arguments are still flawed, and you still have not grasped the idea that you are stupid. a) im not 32, trying halfing that, if you can. b) whats is wrong with using the english language properly? you obviously come from an area which has no grasp on the english language and the way you use it. c) i dont need to grow balls, seeing as i have already. Hopefully i will never meet someone like you, you would frustrate me in the matter of seconds to the point of beating you.

  • @downhiller234 Lol, downhiller, grow some balls please. You can't even fake that you have a pair. You're THAT pathetic. But since this is youtube, talking to you does make me stupid. So unless you wanna tell me where you live so we can have this talk face to face, i strongly suggest you shut your piehole and go drink your daily dose of breast milk. And of course you're not 32 you asshole. How would i know? I'm just assuming from what you say here, you honestly think i give a shit?

  • @DeanWinchester133 you assume im not 32, well done, i only went and clearly stated im half that age, great reading there! im pathetic? apart from the fact im not using words like "piehole" and b) its not "talking to you makes me stupid" what you should be saying is " talking to you makes me LOOK stupid" because you are clearly outsmarted by a 16 year old. congratulations. the fact you told me to drink my daily breast milk, in the fact you think 16 year olds should be drinking it scares me.

  • @downhiller234 16? REALLY? I never read your messages so i didn't notice. You NEED TO GROW BALLS. I used to drink once in a while when i was 16, i'm not your role model, asshole. You're the "worst" 16 year old i've ever come across on youtube. I'm 19 and dude, your life must suck. 16 year old teenagers don't sit their asses on youtube and talk like they're 60. You suck at being a teen. 'Nuff said. You can't say a thing to that, cause you know it's true. So enjoy your sad life.

  • @DeanWinchester133 you obviously did read my messages because you stated in a previous comment a reply to my comments.Yes of course my life must suck because i use the english language the way it is supposed to be used. You should be ashamed of yourself, your 19 cant speak english properly, have a completely flawed argument and your losing the argument to a 16 year old, congratulations, your parents must be proud and you also are sitting on your arse on youtube, so previous point doesnt stand.

  • @downhiller234 Hahaha, you're so pathetic that it's actually funny. Are you trying to tell me that you're actually not a loser? THE loser. I bet you're a fucking geek, your foster parents don't love you, you get bullied and your only way out of all that, is talking like a fucking nerd on youtube. Congrats, you deserve a hug. You poor thing, now i know why you do what you do. So tell me what it's like, to be half a man. It must break your heart, lol. But that's the breaks boy.

  • @downhiller234 Correction, i can speak english better than you. You're not speaking english in your messages, you're speaking your own special language, it's called nerd. I'm sorry little man, i don't speak nerd. BTW, do you really think i'm arguing? Man, you really are a dumbass. I'm just mocking your sorry ass, for fucks sake! If i were arguing right now, you'd be crying and a minute later you'd have commited suicide. Don't fuck with me nerd, you won't like it when i'm angry.

  • @DeanWinchester133 are you here to mock people or to watch the goddamn video?

  • @deltaforceee I do whatever the fuck i want and i don't need your moms permission. How about that? By the way, your name is a disgrace to Delta Force operatives, close your account you fag.

  • @DeanWinchester133 lawl you need help there with your anger management

  • i wonder how they were able to keep tact of their uniform it look so bad ass.

  • @pcortes1987 every lergionar and soldier was responsible for his uniform (armour), and if some legionar wouldn't pay much attention to this, he would be punished... You have to understand that Romans were one of the most discipline people in history of humanity, and we can even go that far to say that Romans "invented" discipline and who ever wasn't part of their discipline was disciplined very quickly lol

  • @CroPETROforever I agree with you but I would have to say that the Greeks invented discipline

  • @SlyDessertFox sure, that's true... Spartans were somethin unmatched by discipline.

  • Svperbvs qvia milite romanvs svm!

  • man, in the fight, the centurians completely murder an soldier out there.

  • Italians must be so fucking proud....

  • Great video, but strongly biased. Like most history interpretations.

  • Their expansion reminds of the 19th century in the US with the Westward Expansion.

  • @98bigbutt i would rather compare rome to the modern day US, the US that is trying to take over the entire world via NATO and the UN.

  • They were the US of the Ancient world.

  • @98bigbutt : Military wise perhaps. Culture wise? PAH, we Americans are more like the barbarians squatting in their own shit, beating rocks together. (who nonetheless managed to conquer Rome, go figure :P)

The cultural and artistic advances made in Rome and Greece were the blueprints of the modern western world. They should be treasured and respected on their own merit.

  • @Nagneto,I didn't mean culture wise, but I did mean military and economic wise.

  • @98bigbutt : ah cool.

  • What are the song names? Really like them :D

And also, very nice video mate! For ROME! and for the roman army! Best there is!

  • yes what is the name of the songs they are good and very nice done its a brilliant video

i have seen i 5 times after i saw it first time have you made other videos about the roman empire i would like to see them

  • @jogge464 1st song is - King Arthur 2004 theme 00:00 - 02:38, Van Helsing Theme 02:38 - 04:09, Gladiator Theme - Battle 04:09 - 06:34, Lesiem - Fundamentum 06:34 - 09:47.

  • Hello from Spain, which movie are the scenes of the video "Soldiers Of Rome - [113 BC - 117 AD]"? I'd like to see Thanks
