Am I the only person that didn't like Lily? I honestly don't think she deserved Severus's undying love and loyalty.

In the pensieve scene, Lily's lips 'twitched' as though in a smile when James had tormented Snape - even before Snape called her a mudblood. What kind of friend would even CONSIDER that being funny?

And despite being Snape's friend for YEARS - she lets ONE mistake on his part destroy their friendship. In my mind, Lily is quite sensitive and thin skinned.
