Therefore you have stories which were made up between AD 200 -300, written for children and these were accepted as being true by mohammed or just convenient and were then added to the Quran. If they had been true, then these stories would have been mentioned in the gospels or other contemporary 1st century writings, but they aren't

I accept your points. I am a Christian (Anglican or Church of England). Many christians, especially more so, catholics believe the Trinitarian view that God = Jesus and Jesus = God. I am quite religious, but have only ever seen Jesus as his Son. There seems to have been a loss in translation because some christians - and I am one - don't subscribe to the belief that Jesus and God [pbut], are one and the same thing. Jesus is the prophet and messiah; not God. Peace :)

Therefore you have stories which were made up between AD 200 -300, written for children and these were accepted as being true by mohammed or just convenient and were then added to the Quran. I accept your points. I am a Christian (Anglican or Church of England). Many christians, especially more so, catholics believe the Trinitarian view that God = Jesus and Jesus = God. I am quite religious, but have only ever seen Jesus as his Son. There seems to have been a loss in translation because some christians - and I am one - don't subscribe to the belief that Jesus and God [pbut], are one and the same thing. Jesus is the prophet and messiah; not God. Peace :)

Maybe he didn't, but one thing is certain, he learnt a great deal about previous books and remembered the contents of them. In one passage, the Quran says that God taught men to write with the pen!

You ask how did he get these words - well, I believe one could write a whole essay on that and where he got the words from, but briefly, he got the words from:
1) an unknown or familiar spirit
2) he used the contents of many previous texts, 'adopting' & changing them to make his own new theology of Islam
3) he had the help of a Syrian monk who supported his supposed prophethood

@faithbyloving the 3 whatevers, are wrong somehow, 1st, the spirit is gabriel, the angel sent by god to give the quran to mohamed, the 2nd one is a lie, people of mekka said the same thing when he 1st told them about the islam thingy, 3rd, the monk (called waraqa bin nawfal) just told mohamed that he's a prophet same as moses, after mohamed saw gabriel. he ran off while he's really scared, then his wife brought him to the monk who was her cousin, and whats sura 96:4? plz tell me the suras name

@WolfTeamingAround You "think" the 3 "whatevers" are a lie...but maybe that's because you understandably don't want to accept that they could be true! After all, you are a muslim & as a muslim you wouldn't want to think that there could be anything wrong with your religion or beliefs! Even I understand that. However, what we should talk about here is the truth, not just what we "want" to be the truth! So before you dismiss my points, I'd advise you to look into them & consider them carefully

@WolfTeamingAround re 1) Muslim biographers have recorded the life of Mohammed and his practice of seeking to be possessed by unknown spirits in caves, before he ever claimed to have a revelation. Muslims have stated that when he married Kadijia, she encouragd him to practice this contacting of familiar spirits, just like her first husband did, because it brought her local prestige.

@WolfTeamingAround When mohammed received one revelation, he later stated that it was not from allah but from satan! This is a major problem because he cannot have received a message from satan through the Angel Gabriel ! This really proves that it was not the Angel Gabriel that he was seeing. The Angel Gabriel does not give messages from satan.

@WolfTeamingAround Now no.2 point - You say that mohammed didn't use previous texts to make his own 'revelation' for the Quran, but the evidence proves otherwise. There are many ayas, that are clearly taken from other books and changed to support mohammed's new theology that he was making.
3) Mohammed spent a lot of time with the Sryian monk, who also had a lot of written texts from the Christian and Judean communities. When he died, these will have gone to mohammed to keep.

@WolfTeamingAround 4) he learned the medical ideas of his day from greek philosophers and put these in the Quran
5) He used extracts from the following texts: The Infancy Gospel of Thomas, The Psuedo-Matthew, the Arabic Infancy Gospel, The Talmud, the Old Testament, The New Testament
6) he more then likely referred to the Ebionites heretical teaching and other heretical sects which strayed from the New Testament teachings.
So these are some of the ways he got the words for the Quran.

@WolfTeamingAround In fact, I have copies of the Arabic Infancy Gospel, the Psuedo-Matthew and the Infancy Gospel of Thomas (all of these are fictional non true stories for children which were written about about 300 AD) and if I place these side by side with my copy of the Quran, I can match up verses that have been taken from these books and put in the Quran. These verses have been changed to support Mohammed's theology, but it is very clear where they came from.

You see friend, whatever muslims say about God and the Bible being 'changed' or 'corrupted', or 'altered' and all these muslim propoganda claims, you are arguing with God Himself, who said that His Word will Definitely accomplish what He wants! It is vain to argue with God, because God ALWAYS WINS!

1) How was it that Jesus forgave the paralysed man's sins? (only God who is offended against, can forgive sins committed against Him)
2) How do you explain Jesus prayer in John 17:20 "..now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began" - Only God must be glorified in God's presence

@as680783 You cannot claim to love Jesus when you disobey him! Jesus said be baptised and preach the gospel. If muslims are not being baptised and preaching Christ's teachings of the Gospel, they do NOT love Christ. Christ said 'No man can serve 2 masters, he will EITHER love the one and hate the other" or the other way round! It is Dishonest to pretend to "Love Jesus" while Disobeying Him!! JOHN 14:23
