@94matson I wouldn't say he was THE biggest reason they won. He was a big reason, no doubt b/c not many rookie goalies can come in and step up the way he did. He is a winner for sure and is definitely one of my favourite goalies

@bayareaSharksftw your goalie coach must suck, nor maybe its one reason why finland pronouces so meany good goalies instead of usa and canada, because you dont like them. You must remember that goaltending is only one part of hockey, you need good defenders and attackers who makes goals, niemi did some important stops to keep sharks going but it wasnt enough. Without niemi you wouldnt got that far, thats a fact and no need to be angry about it.

@GoalieTributesHD i agree, Niemi is a playoff contender. Nabokov was a brilliant regular season goalie but he was to tierd for playoffs. Niemi saves a lot of games til playoff time. And Sharks just gave away game after game to canucks by taking penalties all the time

I wouldnt say Niemi is underrated, that was like his first year in NHL. And He is pretty simular to Cam ward, extremly good in important games (playoff goalie)
