Top Gun ........................... sorry it takes a lot more to make it in the Starfighter program. Kudos to The Last Starfighter - a childhood dream, an incessant 80's classic that only real people of real class can enjoy and indulge therein. Dope sounctrack so mystifying AND OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!
Yeah , that would be pretty fun and special with the right cast and director. Unless the original cast returns, much like Tron is doing. In the end , I hope that if Tron 2 is very well taken and very sucessful it will change Hollywood perspective on remakes. Or at least change the course of how things are looked at in terms of sequels.
that sting song came to mind on my way every fiber of my being wants to run out that door but theres this voice that says there making a fool of me btw the reason ithought of it was the gold ring u know the whole shes married with kids thing no disrespect intended peace ps i know pick up the phone and find out im on board cap chill out
That's because movies like this, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and the ones with the really good scores used a technique called Leitmotif, which means each character gets a central theme. Some composers just did a theme for the good guys or central character, others did themes for all major characters(Star Wars). Nowadays, the themes are all just action-y, fast-paced fluff that doesn't stick in your mind.
studios wont pay for a full orchestra anymore-more costy effective with digital sampling available...unless your Disney or can afford John williams. :)
Tell me about it! I drew up plans of the Gunstar and Deck Fighter so I could build a cardboard model of them for dogfighting, but I just stuck with erector sets and LEGOs.
Right now, I'm building a great cardmodel of the Gunstar. It's a bloody 22 inches long when finished, and I fully intend to display it with pride. :)
No kidding. There were plans to release action figures frpm this movie. I remember seeing mockups of them in a toy magazine (Toyfare, I think), but I think they got shelved because Star Wars was just too popular with kids.

I think if Tron 2 is very sucessful we might see a sequel to this film. I think they are holding off to see how it does with audiances.

this movie is awesome! totally gets overshadowed by star wars. such a shame.
LAdude83 3 years ago 2
Agreed. There's some originality and wonder to this film that Star Wars wishes it had, I think.
Star Wars doesn't make me smile and look up at the stars the way this film does. :)

Lord Kril: Damage report!
Ko-dan Officer: Guidance system out. Auxiliary system out.
Lord Kril: Divert! Divert!
Ko-dan Officer: She won't answer the helm! We're locked into the moon's gravitation pull. What do we do?
Lord Kril: [his eyepiece swings over left eye] We die.
