The key here is to find other sources of Income for the government aside from Taxing People money they don't have ....
Find other sources of revenue for the government, get people employed so they have the opportunity to make money, and then , maybe then, you can start taxing people by raising rates, because at least now they will have jobs and an income

just returned to Hawaii from Guam and we pay about 35 cents per kilowatt/hr! Wages are a little higher but not by much.What is your power company doing to reduce it's cost to produce electricity?.Also, what are customer's doing to help themselves?Solar,windpower,cf bulbs,conservation.Prices won't go down until everyone makes changes.Does the power company provide aids/incentives to do so?
The power company is run by the government. and they are not doing anything much to help, solar power takes alot of money and majority of the people can't afford it.
The consumers finds that wrong. The CUC is in a bad situation right now but what's with the 5 million contract? don't we have locals or existing employees that are qualified to do the same simple jobs? and especially the newly hired director with a salary of $85,000.00?.
Its not right but the Govenor should increase the rates or CUC would go from bad to WORSE.. We are moving forward not backwards and prices are going up not down.
On one of his campaign advertisments on TV, he posted up news articles with NEGATIVE captions about our economy during BB's time stating that THIS WOULD CHANGE if he gets elected. turns out it DID change from BAD TO WORSE.
i'm glad i was not one of those who made the mistake of voting for him.
