  • Thanks John...Die Chapman...

  • this song isint anti work its pro worker,,we the working class,,its soo hard to be a man with all the crap the world makes us take,,this song was made for me and ANY hard worker that puts up with all of your bull,,and still we get the job done,,,fuck white ,,john was pro blue,,

  • Lennon... You are dead... but you are still the GOD!!

  • there is room at the top for you mr.lennon what a top man everyone can relate to this song if they only cud listen.bigger than jesus

  • That was an intreaging song. It reminds me of John's childhood. Liverpool was a tough city back then. The people had a strong working class ethic. John was bright and he didn't like school. This song seems really sober and honest.

  • @Coleaptera I love John with all my heart but this sounds like an excuse to be a lazy bum! You've got to be a hard worker to reach success. Maybe i'm missing something here

  • My life story is this song john Lennon your my hero

  • Such a good song...

Makes me think of my future. And it scares me gentlemen, it really does..

  • They tortured and scared you for twenty odd years; Then they expect you to pick a career; Story of our lives. - Lost and confused.

Thank you John. I guess I'm not the only one.

  • One of the extraordinary songs from one of the most powerful albums ever made. It's one of the greatest, most profound collections of songs ever recorded. It's not even remotely like a Beatles album, just one man bearing his soul.

  • nice

  • i want whatever he was on to make music like him...beautiful

  • who can hate this? 0.0

  • John Lennon, about a thousand years ahead of his time. Rest In Peace John, you still live on in my heart and soul. All we are saying is give peace a chance. OWS 2011.

  • This is the key to life.

  • These days the end should be: if you want to be a hero don't follow me, if you want to be a hero follow your hearth.

  • @Haadlum Don't follow your heart!! LEAD WITH YOUR IT!!

  • Great

  • start the new year with a good dose of truth.

  • imagine this song while youre riding your horse in mexico on red dead redemption

  • By the way if it wasn't for the Beatles, we would of never heard of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Metallica, The Doors, Jimmy Hendrix, Bob Marley, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen and Black Sabbath...Nuff Said

  • Marilyn Manson's cover is better than GD

  • And fuck off

  • There is a feeling generated in this song that stirs emotion yet is not insulting. This is something rarely captured in music made recently in my opinion. It brings out something which is in everyone although some have it buried under pain.

  • Green Day ruined this song. Lennon - the original & the best.

  • @halfabeet Oh shut up Green Day did a great job. Billie Joe is a big fan of John Lennon and The Beatles.

  • @AstrophelTDeath Being a fan of someone doesn't mean you can do a decent cover version - his whiney nasal American accent really stomps over the song - it didn't need a fake punk band covering it.

  • @halfabeet This song being covered by Green Day brought this song to a whole other audience. John Lennon was a wonderful artist and the cover by Green Day was quite good. The original artist is almost always better but Green Day did a good job and opened the song to another genre and a younger audience. Music is for everyone and Lennon would be rolling in his grave to think people are being petty and arguing over his song being covered when being covered brings new life to a song.

  • @TheLorgirl I Honestly first heard it from Ozzy... Just like I first heard Imagine from A Perfect Circle... John Lennons philosophy will always be inspirational...

  • @TheLorgirl who cares? your life here is short. no one cares what you think. shhhhhhhh don't reply.

  • Really reminds me of Dylan, especially "Masters of War"

  • There arent enough superlatives to describe this song.

  • He NEVER disappoints me...in his music or his life. We miss you John...<3

  • Anyone who thinks Green day comes close to the original on this one, is completely fucked in the head.

  • 68 people will never good music..

  • One of the most influential men that ever walked on this planet....and he could sing.

  • Reinds me of other bands, but with talent

  • this hits home with me, love you all

  • john lennon isnt english hes scouse just like me a scouser is someone from liverpool england scousers are disliked throughout england because they say we thieves but they jealous of liverpool it produced the most successful band on the face of the planet ever to this day

  • @james7167 'John Lennon isn't English he's scouse'

'A scouser is someone from Liverpool, England'

    So he is English really...

  • @james7167 you are a complete idiot

    l

  • You do realise that John Lennon is English right?

  • @wellsey69 Half-English anyway.

  • im sorry, i love this song, and i love listening to it, but im 11, and i dont want to listen to songs with the 'f' word. but i LOVE THIS SONG! i wince every time the 'f' word is dropped, but i just hope no parents find out about it!

  • @sm374820rocks Fuck

  • In my opinion both covers are awesome...

  • @cespinosa987 What exactly makes it better?

  • @cespinosa987 You fool.

  • @cespinosa987 john lennon>green day

  • reminds me of dylan....but better

  • Tonight(actually last night, 'coz it's now after midnight) I went and saw "The U.S. vs. John Lennon" as part of the MINT film series here in Toronto. I can't believe it's been 31 years since that sick asshole monster son of a bitch took you away from us John- 31 years and it STILL makes me angry and it STILL makes me cry. And to all my friends at the (Walk of Fame) John Lennon star in front of the capitol records building in Hollywood, I miss you all SO much (Especially you Pat Tyson)

  • i hope these yanks that talk about poverty kno what its like 2 live in a derelict moss side housing estate with gunshots and stabbings all around you and to be preying for sumthing to take you away

  • John Lennons not dead,he still alive in all of us

  • RIP John Winston Lennon.

  • John Lennon 1940 - 1980

  • 1:32 - "Then they expect you to pick a Korea..."

    I choose NORTH. Hahahaha

  • @MissionMetallica it's pick a career dude

  • @djansen151 Hahahaha I know, its just a joke. :)

  • I like green days better but this is the official and its fNtastic too

  • @hectordgk Gtfo.

  • I thought Green day's way of this song was fantastic. John Lennon is the god of music.

  • The ability to share the Earth for free isn't something given, it's something that has always existed unless taken away. We're the first species in 3.5 billion years for which the use of the Earth is a privilege, and the only reason to make it a privilege is to control and abuse. Desperate people make great servants.

  • GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Karl Marx's theme song lol

  • @ThisIsnotHere666

You've probably never read a work by Marx in your life... imbecile.

  • I was in New Orleans this weekend, and there was a smalllll fraction there called "Occupy the Bayou." No more than, say, 90 people. Nevertheless, they were ALL, in unison, singing this song; VERBATIM!

  • doğuşun adamı

  • green day sings better...

  • This song makes me want to quit my job

  • amazing. why did they kill john lennon as well. for fuck sake do you know how desperately society NEEDS an enlightened musical soul to INSPIRE us

  • This song is amazing, pure inspiration of truth

  • So Raw, So Heartfelt, So Brilliant, So the Greatest Songwriter Ever (not forgetting Macca of course) !!!!

  • justin beiber watch this video 64 time

  • John would be pissed if he saw an advertisement before his song was played

  • @chrisjohnnunes If you have firefox get Adblock plus

  • @chrisjohnnunes the world of warcraft one?

  • and yes.....green days version did suck

  • lol...but the bankers control EVERYTHING...they own countries.....just saying, nothing more complicated than it has to be, but it all starts with the cash.....

  • Green Day's version kinda sucked.

  • What can a man say...he has made so many good songs, but this is one of his three best. I only wish he could lived a few moore years. Good bless.

  • I think this is the best one... At the moment...

  • This is, in my opinion, one of the top 3 best songs he's written.

Working Class Hero, Imagine, and Strawberry Fields Forever. Probably my favorite songs that John Lennon wrote.

  • @MegamanSora1 For me the unique song degne di nota

  • Sometimes when I get sent to the detention center or something else of the sort goes wrong I just sing to myself quietly. The three songs I can remember singing in those situations were three little birds by bob marley, working class hero by John Lennon and heaven is a halfpipe by OPM. All wonderful songs.

  • awesome!!!

  • This is the first time I hear the original version :-) And it's indeed a great song by Lennon.

  • now if m. manson ever does INSTANT KARMA, ill do him myself so that he can apologise to lennon in person for smearing black lipstick all over a perfectly good thing. hey manson! leave them songs alone!

  • @olamf1977 dude you know nothing about manson! he the lennon of our age!

  • @bunnykingIII "your" age. not "our age". you can have him. ill gladly give you that. happy?

  • oh GAWD, marilyn manson DID NOT do this song did he?? cunt.

  • John Lennon,

es ist es niemals Wert zu dikutieren.

Working Class Hero is something to be!!!

  • I value this song. But I hate politics. I hate it because it never solves sh*t. Any student of history knows this all too well. There are always those younger souls who imagine novelty ("but,we're different") but the story always ends the same way. Don't give a crap what you call yourself but, read "Ecclesiastes" (Qoheleth). The wisdom speaks for itself. There-that's my comment for "Occupy Wall Street". I dig the complaint. I just think there is a much bigger picture at work here.......

  • excellent!

  • John Lennon.....The modern day prophet

  • @007dicktator Hey you ok? I know this is just the internet and what not,but maybe you should call up a friend or something. Hope things get better for you soon. The only way to know for sure is to stick around and find out.

  • I;m surprised at some of the comments. Why not say that this is John Lennon stark, true to his beliefs.A sensational, brilliant song, very much in the Revolution mould. It certainly wouldnt make xfactor, and proud of it! Many many thanks for uploading Rupe44

  • A working class hero is something to "Fear."

    #OWS

  • Called the local radio station the day after John Lennon was killed, and asked them if they could play this song, (from J.L.Plastic Ono Band, live peace>Toronto) and they said of course, and they played it within 10 minutes. Called back in a week and they couldn't play it anymore because of offensive lyrics. Eventually a bleeped version came out but , well, won't say the word ...

  • i almost drank myself to death listening to this because i was cheated on :( but it was quite a nice memory in a fucked up way :) john lennon your the greatist

  • Surrealism had a great effect on me because then I realised that the imagery in my mind wasn't insanity. Surrealism to me is reality.

    -John Lennon

  • Occupy wall street is a joke. The economy has very little to do with wall street. The president creates jobs for companies that create funds for him and his next attempt at re-election. People need to wake up and realize where the real issues are that plague the country, not just assume something and go fight for it.

  • This song is making fun of society and the way that we accept being trained like slaves. The last line tells us if we want to actually be heros, then follow him. Meaning, disconnect from the enslaving society that we participate in, as outlined in the song step by step.

    Come out of Babylon people!

  • Occupy Flowers

  • occupy wallstreet? lol you want see a working class hero, grab a mechanic, grab a welder, grab a blacksmith, grab a carpenter and look at his hands, that's a hero

  • Another great theme song for "Occupy Wall Street".

  • @blachubear This song wasn't about corporations, It's about the Establishment and Government destroying Peace in order to gain dominance over the People. I don't support Occupy Wall St. I support LOVE AND PEACE. WHEN WILL THE WARS END? WHEN WILL THE GOV'T AND EST. STOP USING US AS PONS? TIME TO ACT. EVERYONE, SAVE THE WORLD, START LOVING, START PEACE.

  • @Dearhunter43

Don't you realise that governments are in hoke with corporations, and corporations control governments, establishments, the lot, with their illuminati worship of the industrial, military complex.

They cherish folk who can afford to chomp on very expensive cigars and guzzle very expensive champagne.

They regard the rest of us as cannon fodder, cheap labour and slavery type commodities.

  • @prben2 it's isn't about occupying, it's about love. All you need is love. With love, money is useless, so is government.

  • @Dearhunter43 Except humans don't love unconditionally and who the fuck would work if the government didn't force them to?

  • @Dearhunter43 With love, you start valuing money more cause you want to provide and protect for your loved ones.

  • @blachubear Hello,

Should I support Occupy Wall St. and why?

  • @blachubear as someone who has gone...youre totally right...fits the atmosphere there...it truly does

  • @blachubear They would need to get jobs first.

  • @Chuikov23 They can get a job if the GOP Congress wouldn't cock block the bills that shows up for a vote. Nice try Chuikov23 but I watch the news. We are the 99 percent.

  • @blachubear more than half the people occupying wall street dont even fuckin know what they are talking about. and if anything, theyre all occupying the wrong place. go occupy the white house. thats who you should be really fighting right now.

  • @lilmonkeygurl3 You mean they should Occupy The House Of Congress. They(Bohner, Cantor ) are the ones that make sure the rich don't pay their dues. Do your homework.

  • Would suggest listening to Antimatter's version.

Regardless, lovely song. Strong lyrics, really puts the situation of the lower classes in perspective.

  • marilyn´s version MUCH BETTER PEOPLES"!!!!!!!

  • This song could very well be an anthem to the Occupy movement

  • As much as people like "Imagine," I personally believe that this is John Lennon's greatest song.

  • @GoreyOr I concur.

  • @GoreyOr Couldn't agree more sir!

  • @GoreyOr agreed.

  • @GoreyOr

    iam with u

  • I wish I could see the world as peacefull like John did through those glasses. In his time he had a lot of people with him fighting for peace. Now it's violence all over the place. Were are the good times? The good times that i never saw. Because after the 90's things got worse and worse in short time

  • well you can go to hell if you dont like him

  • Did you know that Green Day did a cover of this song xD

  • @TheGangstertaylor , Green day are the most insignificant band of a generation.... the beatles, oasis, the who, the kinks ect are miles above that 2bit band,,,

  • @JDale1991 I wouldnt say they are insignificant. Neither is any band that has ever inspired a single person in any way, or made a person happy. Now, we can all agree that green day sucks, buuuuuut.....

  • You guys are the worst, green day is the best rock band in history ok!!

  • @TheGangstertaylor Is that a joke?

  • @TheGangstertaylor Actually, they're good, but I can name 3 rock bands/artists that are better.

    The Beatles

    Jimi Hendrix

    Chuck Berry.

In no way am I saying Green Day is bad, I'm just pointing out that other ones are better.

  • @MegamanSora1 you forgot green day which is a 4th one

  • @TheGangstertaylor green day a better rock band than led zep..?? dont make me laugh.. wake up and smell the coffee.

  • @TheGangstertaylor shut up fagboy. i love green day too, but i can name 11 other bands that are WAY better the beatles led zeppelin pink floyd metallica the doors the jimi hendrix experience bob marley and the wailers nirvana red hot chili peppers queen black sabbath
  • @101avpfanify Have to disagree, PInk floyd and the beatles came up around the same time. the beatles just had a bigger audience first.

  • @dasporkyt 101 is a dweeb. The Beatles are the best, but Floyd is a very close second. Gotta love British " Rock And Roll " !

  • @101avpfanify SOOO... name them !
