It really doesn't matter if he (or other artists) is/are gay, because in the end 99% of songs are going to be about straight love, even if the gay person writes it. Singers and producers and songwriters want to SELL their music. They know that more people are straight, and that some people don't approve of homosexuality; they aren't stupid. ; ) Frankly I'll be shocked if I ever hear an openly gay song on the radio, saying something like "I love you boy" and it's from a male singer.

Hell half the singers out there don't even write their own songs, they sing songs written by songwriters not even knowing their sexual orientation. Any love song could be written by a gay person. A great song is one that the listener can make their own, take from it what they can, apply it to their life. Most of Darren's songs are genderless.
