A fancy splash page is a nice introduction, but that will get old after day 3. The prof would need to remove that and go back to Announcements after the 3rd day for that splash page to be really useful. Also, isn't that .jpeg screen resolution dependent? If the student is using a larger or smaller screen, won't that image look funny?
