  • Dubbing should be illegal, it's copyright infringement. What would the master have said if they put german lederhosen on the mona lisa?

  • Some weird ugga-bugga language

  • Jim Carrey was amazing in this movie. How he wasn't nominated for an Oscar is beyond me.

  • What a beauty on 0:09

  • @TheBataababy I think this Lucy Liu

  • @superknjaz No she's not. I already checked it, and she's not :((

  • @superknjaz Thats not Lucy...

  • @superknjaz

    No, its Jackie Chan.

  • He overplays a little bit if you have seen the original skit, but it is still quite an impressive impersonation. I must check out this movie.

  • good acting but i dont find the real andy funny at all

  • russian shit?

  • overacted it. kaufman is brilliantly restrained. carrey just can't help letting out his signature overacting. he needed to use the same awkward restraint in this as he did in eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. as far as comparing impersonations go, cate blanchett did a better job of bob dylan. Sadly i'm not convinced after seeing the real thing first.

  • @jimmyjimmyshortcakes Who are you to say that? and what would you know? He's ACTING. If he did it spot on then it would be pointless showing Jim Carrey doing the scene wouldn't it? They might swell take original footage and put it in the movie. Fuck, people like you are never satisfied when it comes to film. Get off your high horse.

  • @raphe111 there's too much of carrey in it. his 'stereo-typed' character comes through too much and it loses the essence of the scene. high horses, low ponys, it all remains the same. and never mind who I am. i know who i am. do you know who you are?

  • @jimmyjimmyshortcakes I agree. Having seen the original (I saw the movie first) this feels to me less like "Jim Carrey playing Andy Kaufman"and more like "Jim Carrey performing Andy Kaufman's Mighty Mouse bit".

Don't get me wrong, Jim Carrey's performance is great, the way he puts his own slant and signature style on it - but that's the point. He has a different style from Kaufman, and I think he got a little too caught up in the act and forgot how to do Kaufman. Still a fantastic film, though.

  • jim carrey does a better job doing andy kaufmans acts then andy kaufman does. just has funnier faces and funny body language. but andy kaufman full credit for his brillance in comedy and we wouldnt have the funny metaphoric comedy we have today without him. he invented it and its great. R.I.P.

  • watch?v=eQNsqBcrn6g original andy kaufman performance

  • It's more easy to say what's the less good movie than to ask what is his worst movie.

  • @Magnolia296 I agree with everything but the last part.

  • I love Andy Kaufman. I peed when I saw the first episode of SNL when he did this. RIP <3

  • the genius of Kaufman's mighty mouse was in its simplicity, the originality, and the delivery, and, well you know what? it's hard to describe the genius of his Mighty Mouse except that he just knew what he was doing!

  • I like to look at this as a re-enactment.

  • I don't get it???...

  • @godthunderz that's the point. :)

  • this is why Jim Carrey won Golden Globe from this movie...lol XD

  • It so great!!!!

  • Wonderfully impressive movie. Jim Carrey was brilliant as Andy Kaufman. When it comes to put Carrey's best films (in acting department) my vote authomatically goes to Man On The Moon and The Truman Show. He deserved the Oscar or at least being nominated for this award. Courtney Love was great too - very underrated as an actress.

  • @Magnolia296 I so agree with you. I loved Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind as well. I have two questions: Do you think you get Andy Kaufman? And in your opinion, how far is it just to compare the movie with the actual person?

It would be awesome if you could tell me what you think. This person gets me. He is brilliant by simply doing that.

  • @Magnolia296 heck yea she is, ask cobain WHOOPS

  • Google the original (not on youtube because or copyright). Andy's performance is much more subtle and absolutely believable.

  • @timpipe

You are correct. Compared with Kauffman's performance, Carrey's was like a banjo compared with a violin.

  • @timpipe I kind of agree.

  • what a film!

  • andy is the best :)

  • master class from jim

  • it's actually lorne michaels!

  • And then michael stipe, mike mills and peter buck start throwing darts at him.

  • Awsome scene. But he is Jim Carrey, Not Kerry. :)

  • classic scene. Love this movie!
