I think Shinji will at best be played by a mix-blood...no one will allow an asian leading man to head such a big project. It should be a trilogy, the first as an introduction, the second ending with a cliffhanger and the third concluding with a very uplifting and inspirational message, soundtrack by John Powell or James Newton Howard.

@ifeelrelaxed I'm glad it's fake. Modern Hollywood would ruin Evangelion. They'd probably forget entirely about the psychological and philosophical aspects of it, dumb down the character to cliches; and even if those things don't happen, how do you find child actors strong enough to convey the depths of emotions seen by the characters in Evangelion? In my opinion, you can't.

Look at the top grossing movies of all time on IMBD. Of the 430 movies, 11 are Non-US. That's approx 3% while 97% is US. Keep in mind this is world wide box office data. Also, as for the US being arrogant, tell me, when you see an insect on the ground do you stop to think yourself better than it? The life of an insect is so far beneath you that it would be a waste of time to consider yourself better. That's equivalent to the importance we place on your country.

Denial of what? I'm just saying that not every great movie is American. Just because a movie makes a lot of money doesn't mean it's good either. There are many movies that don't get the advertising they need. Hell the Twilight saga has a major following because of teenage twits. What about movies that are made in America by people not native to the country? Many factors are involved in making but your arrogance is expected.

I agree, american CGI effects in movie very impressive. Japan movie too weak in comparison with Hollywood [and other world too :-)). And of course, in sci-fi movie USA on a first place. I want see american live-action Evangelion [with CGI like "transformers"]
