  • so i have too pay???

  • I freaking love you....

  • Justine, you never have bad hair days and I worship your videos.

  • Speaking of expenses, Somea is very expensive. You have to do some digging to find out what this program really does cost and it's not going to happen for most people in this economy. I was floored at the program cost. It's hard when people go on about how great something is when they didn't spend a dime on it. My advice to people who don't get free things or money to blow but want a whole foods diet. Research it online. There's tons of info out there for free. You can do it too.

  • I am going to send my friend this video cause she is a person who makes up every excuse in the book to NOT lose weight.

  • @varbaluli No, it isn't any of my business. Why don't you not wear a seat belt, chain smoke, and binge drink as well.

  • so funny! :) I'm one of the mentors at Somae Health and you pretty much nailed it! lol ...

    "I feel better now" ... :)

  • Frickin' sing it Justine.....I've been on Somae for almost 4 months (lost 60.2 lbs) and I have this rant with other people and their stupid excuses almost every other frickin day.

  • Just like Meghan Tonjes, I hope it makes you feel better and live a very very long ass time.

  • I HAVE THE SAME SHIRT AS YOU

    coincidence?

    I

    think

    not

  • 5 meals a day? I'm terrible at eating 1 whole meal a day. I mean, I'm overweight, but not obese or anything. My day consists of lumping and eating a bit to keep from being hungry. I really want to get into eating good food. And seriously, you're so inspirational. With your wisdom and great hair. I'm thinking you keep your wisdom in your hair, Justine.

  • I completely agree! I've been on the paleo diet and it's awesome! I'm never going back to processed crap.

  • Well said!

  • You are actually pretty damn smart

  • I can only hope I am in the area on the day that you are "...Let loose into the wilderness."

  • if Justine eats only fresh food, we all MUST eat this way too.

  • looken' good, jpmetz but please keep that bubbly personality(yes I'm using sarcasm here, for those who are new to it).

  • i cant believe this is a diet..... people in austria eat like this all the time, this "diet" is just the normal way to eat here........ do americans really eat mcdonalds everyday for every meal ??

  • @achsihhh most american's dont eat fast food for every meal. but it is a common thing to eat food from mcdonalds and other fast food places a few times a week. There are some people who dont eat fast food at all either; and this diet would seem like the normal way to eat for them too.

  • @achsihhh Yes.

  • I also have MS and I find it really hard to lose weight... this diet sounds great not only will you lose weight but I am sure it will lesson your symptoms.... good job!! keep it up it takes a lot of will power.

  • The family excuse does apply to me.. since I am in fact, the minor and cannot control the damn grocery-ness-ness-ness >.< But I get what you mean...

  • What is the diet ? I have MS and am looking for ( CHANGE) Can you link me me ? or give me some direction? xox susan

  • Looking sexy ;)

  • how much is it ??? this whole diet plan?

  • It's at 1/2 speed, AHHA!

  • I'm 16 and a boy, but i wanna lose some weight. will this work for me?

  • You are so right. If you're going to eat a cookie you may as well eat the whole box ahahahahah. That's why you don't have it at all. If I don't cut out the temptation completely I just binge. :p

  • Dude your face lost weight!!

  • Since somae doesn't send you food, does it cost money? if so, what are you paying for?

  • You look amazing.

  • @varbaluli I think its possible to try a lifestyle change like this even with your situation, if you want to talk about it you can email me jpmetzyt @ gmail . com

  • @varbaluli publicly shaming? really? lol. Im pointing out that there's misconceptions about weight loss, and if people IN GENERAL (of course there's always exceptions) begin eating a whole foods diet they will be surprised with how easy it is and how much money they're saving, like i was! youre taking this way too personally! Im sorry if you felt shamed.

  • You are COMPLETLEY right lol

I agree with everything you said in this vid.

People really don't understand that prossed foods, even though they said 'diet' or 'healthy' on it, aren't good for you at all.

    Love your vids ^_^

  • I want to do this somae business now

  • Preach it! I'm in the same boat :)

  • not doing so well with this vlogtober thing are we justine?! ...way to keep your fans waiting, why promise something then just dissapear? this is why ijustine will always be more successful than you on youtube.

  • this rant made me eat a grapefruit right away o_o

  • I laugh at the people who are getting so offended at this video. Just stfu and be fat and stop bitching at people who are actually trying to lose weight.

  • @varbaluli um yeah obviously you can't afford to eat healthy if you're living on the streets.. you're missing my point though, for the average person EVEN IF healthy food was more expensive than fast food (which it isn't, like justine said it costs about the same) that's not an excuse not to lose weight, because it's worth it at the end.. you can't put a price on being healthy.

  • Your face looks thinner girl! Look at you go! :D

  • right when you said "give them an apple", I got up and got an apple.

  • your face definitely looks thinner!!! good job! =]

  • you tottaly look already thinner :O

  • Oh my goodness you already look thinner, that's so friggen cool

  • @varbaluli And i understand you might not have the money but honestly high fat foods and processed food will cost you more in the long run because of their lack in nutrients. And if you really dont have time, MAKE the time, take two nights of the week and prepare you food ahead of time THAT way you can freeze the food and take out later to make supper or wtv. It's not that complicated, use your head.

  • @varbaluli You buy the slightly old fruit which is half the price and you can make a ton of stuff with it. So before you go mouthing off every fucking person i suggest YOU check your fucking privileges, and priorities. Seriously you are complaining about having a huge family with 6 members yet you have no time to do anything? are you shitting me? what the fuck does the rest of your family do and WHY the fuck are you sitting on youtube being a bitch to everyone who speaks their mind.

  • @varbaluli Actually do you realize how dumb you sound? Veggies are not expensive. And if you have dont have the time to do the juicing or anything why do you have sooo much time to respond to every fucking person on here who is bashing people who dont eat healthy. You are seriously a fucking idiot and if you knew anything about eating healthy then you would realise to buy affordable fruits and to make the juce from fruits you dont buy the brand new fruit,

  • @xArisuxRavex I've never done or needed to do any juicing... water does the job just fine, lol

  • @KickingGeese It was for the other person, they said they don't have enough time to juice fruit, or afford fruit.

  • i know what kind of a struggle you're going through with weight loss. don't take this as "this is what you SHOULD do" but i had gastric bypass about a year ago and have lost 170lbs so far. iwas 321 the day of surgery. i was just wondering if you ever maybe thought of that? i dont think of it as a easy way out.. especially if you have medical conditions. they tend to approve people a lot more with those. my insurance covered it entirely just because of my history of obesity. nothing else.

  • @amizlude I did think about it, but Im trying reallly hard to work changing how i eat first

  • OMG you made my day :) am trying the same diet. I use weed for my MS and that has me in the ice cream tub :( any tips?

  • agreed x 10034

  • I would LOVE to eat healthy but I REALLY can't afford it. My day usually consists of scrapping up a couple of bucks for food (usually not that much more than a dollar). Not a lot you can buy with that so I usually have to get something from some form of dollar menu. I don't even like the food. It makes me physically sick but I can't afford anything else.

  • Pretty

  • i'm kind of irritated by people saying they can't afford eating vegetables. i don't believe vegetables are more expensive in the us than where i live, and it's a lot cheaper for me than if i would buy junk food. and i'm a student with almost no income.

  • you are absolutely right. eating healthy is not expensive. i buy mostly vegtables and fruit and i've been teaching myself how to cook properly ever since i moved out of my parents house. i feel so much healthier than before. it's really not that hard.

  • We have to make our own changing diet! Pilgrims that want to do the diet frozen crap... good luck.

Hang Tough Having MS grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr makes it worse! xoxox

  • Just found out that the plan costs around $900 for the three months :( Guess I won't be trying Somae anytime soon. -_- It does sound like a great diet though, if you can afford it..

  • Sounds like a great diet plan..might have to try it myself sometime!

  • let loose into the wilderness LMAOOO, preach!

  • YOUR HAIR! <3 I might have to try this Somae.

  • In the comments: On Duty Food Police Officers.

  • Justine, your awesome! xD

  • even if it was more expensive... it would be fucking worth it. you can't put a price on being healthy, wtf

  • I LOVE YOU.

  • Hey Justine! My friend bought me a Get Your Frown On shirt! I make a point of wearing it once a week as a homage to my Mother Goose.

  • I bet this natural diet is going to make your hair even more beautiful. You'll be an international goddess.

  • this might not apply to your situation and the people you talk to, but! actually one of the biggest causes of the increasing obesity in the US is the concept of food diets, where if you live in a really urban area or a really poor area, you actually don't have the access to quality fresh food. People in food deserts don't have a grocery store within any kind of reasonable distance from them which makes it prohibitively expensive or inconvenient to eat food from a grocery store.

  • I live in an inner city area, and the major grocery store chain near me closed their only location that's close to my house. If I didn't have a car I would only be able to get food from corner stores that sell crap food or fast food restaurants. Like I said, this might not apply to you or people who talk to you, but it's a huge problem with the urban poor.

  • @Bridget0688 So true. I live in a really poor area where produce is virtually non-existent. What is there instead? McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell, 7-Eleven... thank goodness for friends with cars, though!

  • @Bridget0688 yea... obviously there are some people that can't because of transportation issues. but im not really addressing people like that here

  • @Bridget0688 well said. plus "good diet foods" are so expensive that people on a budget cant really afford. for the first time ever i dont agree with this rant

  • My Queen, let me be frank, but you are getting more and more beautiful everyday

  • Justine! You dont need to DIET. YOU LOOK GREAT!!!

  • GET YOUR FROWN ON SHIRT

  • Seriously the ppl complaining about "Food prices" and or organic food being expensive, stfu, ITS FOR YOUR HEALTH, is your health so unimportant that you don't want to pay for healthy food? Who the hell cares that fresh food is expensive, you'd rather spend your money of cheap processed unhealthy food because its more "affordable". Seriously, get real. Go ahead eat your mac and cheese.

  • @xArisuxRavex and what about the people on a budget? i agree fast food should be out of the equation when you're limited on money but for people fending on un-employement that have to split their money for the whole month it hurts the wallet. especially when fruits n veggies only last in the fridge for about week. not everyone can afford doing groceries every week. cookies and ice cream i agree shouldnt be a must, but still sometimes the mac n cheese can be the only thing they can afford.

  • @varbaluli

Pretty sure rice and beans are dirt cheap, just ask the 3rd world countries in the world. Is it soooo hard to make a sandwich and take it to work, or cook a stir-fry for your friggin family? Shopping at pretentious hippie stores IS expensive....but there's a whole section of the grocery store dedicated to fruits and vegetables! Who knew!!?!?

Also, when you eat nothing but processed crap - it actually takes MORE food to fill you up because it lacks fiber. Asshat.

  • @LilyMoch i wana add to the cheap staples also potatoes and flour, make your own bread :D

  • @varbaluli I totally agree with you. She has to realise that she has international viewers as well. I live in New Zealand and I went produce shopping and for one bell pepper which we call a capsicum it cost me $4, and that was just for one. Imagine if I wanted to make a stirfry and that would only be one meal. I buy the best that I can afford whether its fresh, frozen, processed or takeout. Why is it when people start losing weight or quit something they look down on others that aren't?

  • @enchantresslyssa Im not looking down at anyone! idgaf how you eat. dont take it personally if you dont agree with me, move on

  • @varbaluli and otherwise, I dont give a F how people decide to eat, but when people ask me how I lose weight and I tell them how, and they give me this laundry list of excuses, that's fine....but i do feel compelled to vlog and educate people about certain myths. no one should feel ashamed here, you guys are all anonymous, and I used to be THE QUEEN of excuses.

  • @varbaluli I understand changes aren't easy for families, but there should be an honest effort if there is a weight problem. first of all, I dont eat organic food? just shop the produce section at acme. I take no longer than 5 minutes to cook, bc i hate cooking anyway lol. the only reason I pointed out these excuses is this is what people say TO ME and they're untrue! also, i wish my parents did something like this when i was little, so I wouldnt end up having such a weight problem.

  • What does your shirt say the hell?

  • @Kleux get your frown on!

  • @varbaluli Then... Go listen to everyone else that gives you other advice? Its really not that big a deal.

  • There would be no harm is eating whole food after the diet anyway. It's about lifestyle changes! People who say "oh its too expensive" are just making excuses. Good for you Justine! I'm happy for you and congratulate you on your weightloss! I love that you just say it how it is!

  • So, I've been doing the Somae plan for about two weeks now and I've lost about 7 pounds. Everything you've said about it is right on target. Oh and about those diets that send you the food, unless you are going to eat that food for the rest of your life, how can it possibly work long term??

  • @zstardust838 its true!

  • Do you have to sign up for anything to do Somae or do you just do it?

  • @meadowcloud519 you do sign up, yes

  • Ahh you're the best, I've been trying to lose weight for a while, and I'm going to start soon, I fully understand what you mean about the people who say it's cheaper, I've wasted so much money on junk food, it's ridiculous.

  • Oh, and I have about 90 pounds to lose and TOTALLY agree with what you said about "it's okay to eat bad things in moderation." It may be, but that really doesn't apply too well to those of us who have gained all this weight due to lack of self control. It's kind of like telling a recovering alcoholic "It's okay to have a glass of wine with dinner." They'll end up drinking the bottle, just like I'd end up eating the whole damn pan of brownies :-P

  • Awesome video! I'm not doing Somae but I've cut out almost all processed foods and am eating veggies, fruit, lean proteins and whole grains. I'm saving a TON of money not buying Subway for lunch, a burger for dinner, a calorie laden latte as a snack... it rocks. Anyone who says they can't afford it just doesn't want to do it.

  • Haha congratz on making the right choices I'm happy u know what ur talking about :)

  • I'm glad the diet's working for you, Justine :) it actually sounds pretty nice, I've been meaning to start eating healthier and get off the fast food and crap. It's just so hard (and tasty)!

  • You look amazing!

  • You gotta do what works for you and

What will keep u motivated! I've been

    Visiting the

    Doctor

    Once a

    Month and

Following his guidelines over 3 months I've lost 43lbs I'm going to look into somae don't know if it's available in the uk tho! But thanks for sharing and

    Also YOU'RE RIGHT!! :) x

  • I'm so proud of you Justine. Your willpower is incredible and I really look up to you for that! Do whatever works for you, no matter what other people say about it. If it yields results, keep on going!

  • hey justine--you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders about this.Pragmatic & real..thats why we love you! I just want to also add (to your commentary) that dealing with the emotional component is also important...I've lost over 100lbs since 2005, and for me that was just as important in learning about how to maintain weight loss as was healthy eating, etc. Overeating when we are sad/depressed/scared, etc... just make sure you dont forget to write/talk/ think about that..! Love u!

  • THIS IS SUCH AN INSPIRING VIDEO! I'm not even being a minion, i've thought these things FOR YEARS and everyone I know has so many excuses! I know that when I fail it's my own damn fault, not ANYthing else. Just sayin.

  • @greengirllover I was one of those people for a long time...

  • @KickingGeese My mom is too. Some people never see through it and are clouded by excuses they believe. Good for you, and me too, for seeing that there really is a better way to live. :) *returns to minion duties*

  • One more thing.. I recently joined Overeaters Anon, and if you ever find you're over the somae, or you want to try something free, I'd really recommend it. In their several lists of food choices (low carb, very low carb, vegan, etc) they eliminate processed foods & white flours, etc, & include whole, natural foods that don't produce cravings. Apart from Somae, I think it may be one of the only programs that truly works because it changes you, & then your body/health changes bc of it. Take care!

  • Somae is just another weight loss fad. Sensible eating + exercise will yield weight loss.

It's not that complicated, companies like Somae like to make it that way so that you fail over and over again to make money. The weight loss industry profits and rely on failure to make $.

  • @allustrial Au contraire. I spent a good amount of time on Somae's website the other day, doing my research. This program is set up so that you don't fail. Also, some people can't just rely on themselves to eat healthy and exercise. They need that extra oomph from someone or something else, like this program. Read up.

  • @allustrial sensible eating and exercise... thats what somae is. how is that a fad? somae teaches you whole foods (almost everything in the grocery store is processed garbage that leaves obese people addicted and sends them on a blood sugar roller coaster). what is wrong with a company making money teaching people how to do this? If i didnt need a plan to teach me, I wouldnt be 100+lbs overweight. i so resent comments like this. they're a wonderful company thats helping improve my health.

  • I completely agree with you. I'm

Only 14 but of course my eating went off the rails. I'm doing a similar diet except it incorporates therapy for emotional eating through consultations every week. I lost over thirty pounds in three months and agree with you. People don't wanna spend money on healthy foods, but what happens when weight causes medical issues. Keep going Justine, your willpower is overwhelming :)

  • I should make my mom watch this video.

  • @Paulissunshine DO EET lol

  • People think it's okay to eat unhealthy as long as you watch your calories. Watching your calories is useless if your eating mc donalds and cookies. 400 cal. of fruit/veggies vs 400 cal. of unhealthy fatty foods isn't the same thing. Because the cal. In the healthy food is way better and isn't fatty. If that made sense lol? Besides if people only knew what's in the foods they eat lol :p

  • Congrats on losing 15 pounds! I'm glad this diet is working for you! I did do what you said wouldn't work, though. I did eat cookies and ice cream etc. just in small amounts. I also exercised though, because I love food more than I hate exercising. I also had my mom monitor what I ate so that I wouldn't eat too much fattening food. This worked for me, but I understand it isn't for everyone. I hope you continue to enjoy the program your on!

  • i've been watching for a long, long time. this is one of the best vids you've done. AND you look awesome. keep doing what you do - always be you.

  • @charlie64093 thanks :D

  • if only everyone had your sense of mind.

  • @johnkel22 if only!

  • wow your hair looks amazing!!!

  • if jpmetz is on a diet i dont care if your 32 punds, we should all be.

  • I'm happy your doing well with your diet.

You look great the way you are though..

but I'm happy you want to be more healthy <3

I told my brother about this...he tries so *hard* to lose weight.

  • preach!!! i'm a vegan and i HATE when people say they can't afford it. what?! you can't afford fruits and vegetables? but you can afford burgers, steak, cheese, etc.? people are stupid as fuck.

  • @AllisonTheVegan LOL thank you

  • @AllisonTheVegan that's right!!

  • I'm glad you're doing well on your diet! Hurah!

  • The people leaving comments giving you weight loss advice don't know what the hell they're talking about. I'm glad you're sticking to the program and ignoring the ass hats.

  • @ChiaraVideos its hard to ignore, i sometimes take them personally bc they probably dont understand what its like being 100lbs overweight, "just eat less and exercise" rarely flies for us folk. if i knew how to eat right, i wouldnt be in this boat lol

  • you look amazingggggg omgg.

  • Since I've been eating similarly to you (I'm assuming), I think I have the authority to say that it is actually a little more expensive to eat this way. I could probably spend less, but I want to cook delicious food that is healthy, and that simply costs more than eating sandwiches for a week. I think the benefits outweigh the costs though when you think about medical bills in the future (diabetes, high blood pressure). At least that's how I'm thinking about it.

  • hey Justine... I think that Somae is a good program, but like someone else said, it literally costs $800. That is absolutely insane to me. I seriously considered doing it, but decided to try changing my diet completely before I committed to paying someone else that much money. I've been doing the Whole30 challenge for the past 2 and a half weeks and it's very similar to Somae- eat whole foods, no dairy, grain, sugar, legumes, or anything processed.

  • @lydialeslie But why no legumes!? Beans ROCK!

  • @lydialeslie yeah there u go!!!!

  • Thank you for having a brain. Sometimes I think I'm the only one.

  • Preach it, master! You are so wise and sexy and skinny!

  • Ah :)

    I'm proud of you

  • You can tell you have lost weight :)

  • @katdivision i already have a pair of pants that are too loose, its awesome

  • your really pretty :)

  • Love this video. Hilarious and so true. I am a binge eater. Cookies in the house are a disaster waiting to happen. I am getting better at having one or two cookies versus twenty but I'm not cured. Good luck and way to go on losing 15 already! Awesome!

  • My weight goes up and down. But I am never that far over weight, usually only ten pounds over. The way I finally lost it was actually just moderation. At the beginning of the month I buy one container of chocolate ice cream. It used to be it would be gone in two days. But now it lasts most of the month, because I have to tell myself no. Moderation is all about will power. But I am super happy you have found a way that works for you. You look healthier everyday! =)

  • Can you take us on your somae diet shopping trip? Or haul it when you get home?

  • It was a tough call, but this is my favorite rant thus far :-)

  • Okay, I can afford whole foods.... the thing I can't afford is the $800 it cost to go on "somae"

  • Food IS important! I'm waiting for a Justine Cooking Show :)

  • My cat saw me watching your video and started licking the screen.

  • If you have cable, you can afford to eat better.

  • @puddlemonster15 if this were on twitter, i'd retweet it!

  • I would like to take this opportunity to tell all the minions (and justine duh) that I make video recipes on the youtube. Easy, simple and affordable recipes. If youre a total noob in the kitchen I garantee you will be able to make my recipes ;)

Thumbs so people can see please <3

  • its all true.."ohh nono i cant afford that type of food" weellll theyre gonna be pissed when you have a heart attack and have to pay for an ambulance and all that crap.

  • Eating food that is naturally derived from the Earth, it just maybe crazy emough to work!

  • hey justine i don't know if you'll read this but i saw this stupid documentary called "fathead" but he does this research that shows that it's an overkill of carbs that shocks our system into continuing to eat and gaining weight. So your diet pretty much makes sense, because I think you still need to eat carbs (around 100g)(or you get tired like on atkins) but not as much as you would while binging on cookies or whatever, and you get carbs in small amounts from vegs, beans, nuts, etc. Good luck!

  • @ununhexium its true! a lot of fruits have a sensible amount of carbs in them as well. right now im restricting spme particularly startchy fruits for weight loss purposes (such as bananas) but otherwise theres totally healthier ways to get your carbs other than nutritionless toast.

  • You look so good!!!

  • hi!!! When you started your diet, did you throw out alot of your unhealthy food so you don't get tempted??

  • @jumperchu well, i live with my family, so throwing out *their* food wasnt an option.so I got my own mini fridge and keep my food separate:)

  • @KickingGeese Gurl, I'm so glad to see you be all serious and get yourself a separate space for your meals! If you keep it up for a long time do you think you will be able to ingest gluten food again without your body rejecting it? Anyways, I'm so glad you made this video addressing ALL those people who post the "it's an expensive died blah blah poopypants" comments. It's your body, and the only thing you have, take care of it gurl and educate these people if it's really working!!!!

  • Justine, I'm SO motivated to do this and REALLY want to try this Somae - I've done the whole weight watchers, slimming world etc, I've a lot of weight to lose - is Somae available in the UK?

  • IT is much less expensive, because you buy less crap and junk food.

  • Alright, I think I'm with one of the idiots that you don't like because I think it's more expensive to buy healthier foods. I personally am trying to lose some weight, and I do buy healthier foods, and I work out but I do still engage in some less than healthy foods from time to time.

Anyway, I think you must be a pretty smart shopper to only be able to spend $50 a week. I might have to reevaluate my shopping.

  • @JamesBerg86 or more likely, re-evaluate your portions.

  • @KickingGeese

    I love you Justine!

  • I agree with you. And I think you've made a good choice with this diet. It sounds healthy and like it would actually work. What you also said about byuing food that's bad for you because it's "cheaper" is a total lie. If you eat normal, healthy food it's going to cost you so much less, you don't have to eat that much and you'll feel great. People only eat shit because it's easy.

  • I get incredibly annoyed with people who say healthy food is more expensive. Do people not pay attention to food prices? A bag of apples or carrots can totally be cheaper than a package of cookies or chips. And even if healthy eating was more expensive, I'd rather pay the extra money to keep myself and my family healthy. Whoever wouldn't is an asshat.

  • When I get a Job I'll send you money for tech equipment.

  • @CSXKid5016 Haha i like your name, my father is the gm for csx X)

  • @xxMarluxiaxxx Haha sweet :)

  • Hey justine. You are doing just the right thing. I have 80lbs to lose and have alread lost 40lbs. diet is a big deal. exercise too. this is a lifestyle change not a fad diet :]

  • @Rabbyadam hey i have 80lbs to lose and i've lost 40 too! diet twinsies

  • I like how this diet isn't ridiculous. Humans were MEANT to be eating like this, not just random crap! It's a lot better than hearing about those stupid cookie diets or whatever.

This is coming from a minion who HATES the idea of dieting.

Justine, I love you my queen! Power on you gorgeous goddess!!
