lol its so wierd to think of soviet russia, which people in mine and earlier generations were taught was closed and fascisitic where individual expression is concerned (though to be fair this was gorbachev's era when things were much more lax), as having not only pop music, but relatively decent by the standards of pop at the time.
i never knew the soviets were open in terms of music industry, kinda brings a tear to my eye of the rhythm and lyrics of the music, beautiful song, proof that the "evil" empire wasn't totally brutal as portrayed by the west.
However, sadly it wasn't until near the fall that they were more open. They had less resources to stop such things and in addition if they silenced people the public would find out more easily.
@DarkAnderebu i think it was more gorbi, but they didnt really crack down on individual expression like art and music, i mean some of the best abstract cinema and art came out of soviet russia, the original solaris for instance was made in the 70s and is simply amazing, id say a russian reinvisioning of 2001. and the slovenian music scene bred modern industrial and EBM music, essentially founding that genre.
I love the main guitar line: simple and gripping. I had never heard of this band before, but I've been checking out some of their other stuff and am starting to really like them.
"The Anthill" I googled "Kino lyrics" and after a few tries I found them. The are written in Russian and English. I tried to get on the website to get you the URL, but it is out of service right now. Good luck.
Sure. I told you the lyrics were backwards, but I noticed today that they are not. When I originally posted them they were starting from the bottom to top. Now the oder is reversed, which is the correct order.
Also... Please don't take this the wrong way, but I teach English and you have to say "the' Soviet Union in "the" 80's... I like it "a lot". I teach some Russian people. They drop articles...You don't have them in Russian. Just FYI ;-)
Thank you! You were very sweet to go to so much trouble. I still have no idea what this Russian guy was trying to tell me via this song. Maybe it has a deeper meaning for him. Who knows? I noticed that you are in Switzerland. Is Russian your second language, or are you Russian? I am American.
Well, the meaning of the song: "The crasy life is going on"
I consider myself ukrainian, despite of the fact, that my native language is Russian (i think in russian). But I can fluently speak ukrainian. Ukrainians and russians are very similar, but still I try identify and represent myself as ukrainian.
I am sure it is fabulous, but I don't speak Russian. A Russian person sent this to me, but I have no idea what it means or what they are saying. Can you tell me?
i dont like when im lied too, but im also tired of the truth
i have tried to find peace but they say i did a bad job

I found them. I forgot I saved a copy. I m sorry but they are in English. As Follows:
It's the beginning of a new day
In the street there are many cars.
If the sun isn't tired we'll say
It is easy to wake up for us.
In the anthill all is right
Someone's broken his leg - Oh my
He will have recovered by night.
But if he dies, no one will cry

(Lyrics Continued)These are posting backwards
I don't know why the people lie
But I saw sadness in what was true
I was trying to find the light,
They said I didn't do all I could do
I don't know now how many men
Have gone crazy all around us
But if we trust our ears and eyes
There are more than enough
SPKarns 3 years ago
And we could begin a war
Against those who are against us
Cause those who fight with those who fight with us
Can't defeat them without us.
The future is covered by fog
The past still looks light and dark
Our money can't fit in its box
It's the morning. Wake up!
You will have to start from the bottom paragraph and go up. They are in order, but backwards.

no, prpblems, thanks for teaching, although I do not think it will help a lot, it is too late to learnwhat I had to years ago...
Anyway the song is something about (I will try now to translate it, despite of fact I canot listen to inright now)
"The new day starts, cars drive everywhere...
If the sun is not tired (bored) to raise, then for us it is simple as well (to get up...)
The "anthill" continues to live,
Somebody broke his leg, but it does not matter a lot. His leg will be healed up
drk8080 3 years ago
But if not he/she dies...
"I do not like when people lie to mme, but I also tired to hear truth.
I do not what is current percentage of crasy people, but if I believe my eyes and ears, this percentage seems to be rather high"
Well this is everything so far I remember.
