Obama supporters who voted for him is because of the promise that Obama had made while running for president, a promise to bring home the US troops in the ongoing wars. I do recall Obama once said this in one of his speeches "If I am president I will bring the troops home right away, not one week, month or year."

We won't have to wait too long since the Supreme Court took up the case on December 5, 2008. How they rule on this very important case will decide whether or not American citizens can be held without reason on U.S. soil.
